It's fantastic to see an... indescribable retelling of one of my favourite games :) The Bruce Lee fight and your alternative ending had my eyes watering!
@@DCLeadboot the first 7 notes of the Mario theme, not played as music but as POP sound effects. The notes aren't musical notes they are just to the beat of the original song. Look up Mario theme ping pong if you want to see another example of someone elses non musical version.

It was quite a tricky project, especially as I was unwell at the time and needed a project that wasn't as demanding as a fully drawn animation. I made this using Flash (back when Flash was still a thing) It was mainly setting up the sprites (and making the edited ones) that was the tricky bit, but once I had some character graphics numbered by frames in my graphics library, the rest was mainly just moving characters around the screen and syncing up the dialogue.
One problem with this game was: How the hell is anybody supposed to get around this palace without having to get over these rickety platforms, pitfalls, spikes, and guillotines?
Perhaps there was an unintended influence, though really I was more referencing the Asterix videogames (hence the Magic Potion that gave Prince a short burst of super-strength)
this whole thing made me think of prince of persia in a different way...even when i play it the words used here just come back to my mind....thanks for making it so interesting and funny
5:46 - 6:04 :D :D :D :D when i saw that first time i was almost killed by Peanuts and drowned in coffee :D many times i'm returning to that hilarious joke. :D Laughing as hell all the time. :D
This would really be better in a shorter version. You've got some really funny stuff there, but not all of it is strong and this is a very simple concept after all. Also references are fun (and I love MP to death), but there are so many of them - they loose impact. Please take it as a constructive criticism, you've done a huge job with this material and I tip my hat to you, sir.
Heh, heh... thanks very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! ;) British humour abounds, yes... a number of references to Monty Python, for instance. That line about guards being expensive paraphrased a line from Holy Grail.
Thanks very much! Certainly Monty Python had some influence... especially the Lancelot moment when Prince went on a murderous rampage to speedrun those last filler levels! 😆 It was a fair bit of work, but at least once I had the game sprites sorted out, Flash was useful in helping me organise the graphics. 🙂
Just the "tempus mori" is wrong.... (the purpose clauses in Latin don't work just with bare infinitive just like in English "time die" doesn't work without the preposition, while e.g. "I can die" works without a preposition ) ... I commented only on this Latin, since this was the closest one to the real Latin :) Otherwise very funny and perfectly done! :D
this is feature worthy material but not everyone can understand that of course :) I used to play this game a lot in my childhood. Thanks for bringing memories back.
4:33 why does everybody have this version sword room? in my version of the game the levels look different. i'm actually here looking for a way to open the lvl2 door since i cant seem to find out how on my own haha
Thanks for the like, UPDATE: it seems this version i played wherr things look different might be a demo version or s bugged version. The version shown everywhere on youtube can also be downloaded from the web
Yeah, I know. o_~ Playing the game with cheats enabled, I can resurrect Prince after falling (it's not at all possible to survive the fall naturally) but there's nowhere to go as the level runs out beyond that point. The level must be started over, since there's no way to climb back.
Oh my, this is so funny! I loved this game as a child and still think it's great. So many things made me laugh, rescuing the princess at the end was hilarious! Other highlights for me was the "I like Cherry Pie", and then run straight into the wall, the Mr Bean bit, the shadow singing Doopty Doopty Doo, deciding to use the skull as a weapon, then grabbing the sword instead and just throwing the skull aside, and battling the bigger guard. :D Brilliant job, adding to favourites!
