      @TheatreDork87 9 років тому +5

      Parture Nope. Veritasium has a video on the Gluon Field. Nothingness, by definition, cannot exist. We wouldn't be able to detect it because it's not anything at all.

    • @Parture
      @Parture 9 років тому +8

      Leia H That which does not exist can't be detected because it doesn't exist.Just because you are not smart enough to detect things very small doesn't mean they don't exist. That would be the height of arrogance. e.g. dark matter and dark energy we know exist even though we can't see it. One scientist said we can see down to the 10 ^25 level, but we know that particles go down to the 10^125 level which we can't see but know exist. biblocality.com/forums

    You have an affinity for incomplete sentences followed promptly by compound-complex sentences and fragmented thoughts. I am sure these are just reflections of your enthusiasm but they must hinder the student who is trying to grasp one concept at a time. Even when I was teaching post-doctoral students, I tried to be both precise and concise at all times.

      I believe we are. I believe space is dark matter/energy and we are made up almost entirely of space. I also have a sneaking suspicion that there is only a correlation between mass and gravity and that gravitational fields are actually created by the displacement of space (dark matter/energy) by matter. I think dark matter is the building blocks of the sub-atomic particles we can actually detect. But what do I know, I just pulled all this out of my ass.

    If 99.9% of an atom is empty space why doesn t metallic elements absorb water ?

    • @dangreen4531
      @dangreen4531 7 років тому +4

      Absorbtion has nothing to do with the space between atoms but how the various elements and there electrons react to one another. Keep in mind that you are in fact 99.9 free space as well...but on a atomic level that is so small that only radiation and a few other things can make it through.
