This is one of my absolute favorites. The video is stunning. In my opinion, each member looks (physically) at their best! They sound like literal angels and I hope that’s what heaven sounds like. This version is a bit slower and higher than the original and most covers but they were such beautiful choices. “Run to you” is another song that feels a bit like this... very emotional, no percussion and it’s an original. It’s truly beautiful. I’d love to see you react to that. This reaction was spot on as usual.
I have listened to a lot of Pentatonix but first time I have listened to this song. I absolutely loved the dissonant chords sprinkled throughout. It made this song even more interesting and enjoyable.

Yes, Kirstie really is the dictionary definition of a classic beauty...both on the outside and the inside. She's got the most wonderful, genuine personality and silly sense of humor...and one of the most beautiful singing voices in the world. And this version of the song is VERY close to the way Elvis intended the song to be. If you ever hear him sing this song in the movie Blue Hawaii, it's almost a cappella with just a music box in the background. The version that appeared on the soundtrack album and single was more produced, but the original movie version was the way Elvis REALLY wanted it to be. If you like PTX singing slow ballads with full five-part harmony, I would suggest their original song Run To You (written by Avi & Kevin). It is STUNNING.

PTX did this in a slow 4 rather than 6/8. As I’ve stated before, that adds poignancy to the song. This was very choral in its concept and the vertical richness of the five-part harmony was just luscious. At the climax of the song when Mitch is doing that magnificent ascending line, Kirstie comes into frame with her gorgeous smile! It’s like the sun is coming out. Kirstie just lights up the room, doesn’t she? The last chord is an A Maj 9 chord with Avi anchoring it with that contra-bass 3rd ledger-line A! The overtones of that chord make PTX sound like an organ!
Mitch singing this song makes me swoon every. single. time. And the harmonies! I like that you pointed out the straight harmonies in the beginning and how they split off in the middle, adding to the depth. Thank you for reacting!

You need to watch Superfruit "Frozen" featuring Kirstie. You can really see how the trio crack each other up. They manage to be hysterically funny one minute and singing gorgeously the next.

But sadly there is a song that overshadows literally everything that ptx ever made. The genius mind is called Jacob Collier and it's his Moon River. I already recommended it twice I think some time ago but please please please react to it, you won't regret it! You need headphones as well and definitively must be a first time reaction! If you think it's boring you don't have to cut and upload it but since you love ptx so much I can't imagine in any circumstances that you don't like it...
