i was walking around with this awesome peaceful music playing and then saw a goblin with an avaliable quest so i clicked on him, he screamed "yo!!!!!" so loud and the volume was on high it almost gave me a heart attack.
I was once walking to a friends house at 3 am. Totally night, no cars on the roads or anything. Kinda windy too so the only noise was just leave rustling in the gusts. And listened to this on my way over. Fit the atmosphere just right. Kinda dream like.
i love listening to game soundtracks in the real, listening to the odst night time tracks like neon night is great when walking around the city at night
I enjoyed Feralas (and Azshara) *because* of the lack of infrastructure/quests. These zones were absolutely beautiful and were a pleasure to wander around aimlessly and I almost always had the place to myself. Boring if you're trying to power level or something, but fantastic other than that!
Yeah, with all the Naga! It was so beautiful there. I used to go there just to walk around and enjoy the scenery and I *never* ran into any other players there. I loved pretty much ANY of the places that had Naga, since they always lived in such secluded, beautiful places.
I'm questing in Feralas right now with my hunter, it's raining & it looks really gloomy & dark, & this soundtrack plays in the background.. such an amazing feeling only WoW can bring.
i was just flying through feralas and i saw shit i havent seen in my decade of playing wow, i never really explored this zone. i love how wild it is and how it has the old vanilla look to it
One of my fav places in wow, great atmosphere, mysterious portals, grinding emerald whelping, and I almost never saw anyone there, its like the place to go when you want to be alone in wow haha
Feralas was honestly one of my favorite zones between the music and just how green and lush and forgotten the area. Right up there with pre-cata ashenvale.
I remember this playing in the Court of Stars, when you have to talk to the nobles. Looked everywhere for this track for the longest time, it's so good. I don't associate it with Feralas anymore because I did keystones so much in Legion, CoS keys especially for whatever reason. Has a very regal feel to it, super relaxing.
Best vanilla zone by far. Just thinking of those waterfalls and beautiful roots covering old stone roads with hanging flowers from huge old trees makes me want to at least farm there or something.
I always have this song play in the background while i solo instances, i have the feeling that it give me alt of luck. I have had several blue proto drake drops and other mounts drop when i have this playing in the background. :)
I never found this zone "boring." I love the green and the rise and fall of the landscape. It's one of my favorite zones, in fact. And this music is tremendous.
I remember leveling here in TBC on a PvP server. There was some mild WPvP going on but the zone always intrigued me. It was beautiful because of how "boring" ( as the uploader put it ) it was. It wasnt a heavy zone. It just had this dark, slimy feeling to it and it just worked.
Yup, no matter how many expansions they make, how many sales they make, not even how many new content they make, the music is always the best no matter what the rest is. And in my opinion, I think that the music is getting better. At Vanilla, I thought the music was good, but as the game progressed, BC brought some good soundtracks, WoTLK was getting really epic, Cata was getting really great and more epic, and MoP is getting even better with its music. WoW, Im bored with, except for the music.
If I may, as good as the soundtrack is, they did have a small dip in WoD imo, as after Highmaul, they started to just simply reuse tracks for pretty much everything, especially the raids. Not to say it was bad, the music of WoD was most certainly not bad at all, but when compared to any other xpac, them coming up with new music for the places made it even better, so them stopping that was pretty disheartening to say the least. Thankfully they learned from WoD in the audio department and Legion has some good tracks as well, but Cata easily holds the best I say.
One of the best vanilla areas along with Winterspring and Tanaris. I adore this place and questing in this giant forest alongside my fellow cows (Tauren for life!!!) is such a treat on so many levels!
I didn't like this zone at the time, but I remember dinging 50 here, getting my Felguard, and being chuffed as all hell! man were those the days or what!
I just now realized tonight that the Isle of Dread sunk.. Just been a long time since i entered this area.. Luckily i found health spots within the area and that my toon was a priest. I've always enjoyed this area to some degree.
OK this is by far the best track I've come across so far for the expac. Its so beautiful and haunting at the same time. The Blizz sound department has really stepped it up.
feralas is the only homeplace of my beloved nightelves which is still intact ;( still so beautyful , magical and the music is sad because so many night elves had to die during the war with the horde and cata destroyed the most places of living ;( but they wont give up they are fighting on and on...so wild
After my dog (4 years old) was misdiagnosed and died I was playing Elysium wow non stop to keep myself from thinking about it. I was grinding steamwheedle rep in this area. Now my brain always associates this melody with not having her anymore. Sorry. It helps to write about these things they say.
this music fits perfectly - the old has passed away ... lament ... lament ... the old has passed away ... :( you realize suddenly that things will never be the same no matter how bad you want it ... lament ... an ancient sadness soaks you ... then anger ... anger grips you and grows ... then resignation ... something has passed on never to return ... so this is growing up ... why did I want this so badly? ... take me back ... take me back ...
I quested in feralas some days ago to get loremaster achievement and every time I heard the this nice piece of music at beginning it felt like " metroid " water world :P This could also fit in scary games like Resident Evil / Silent Hill etc with a deep story :)
Wow I don't think I ever went to felwood during cata, I had no use to go there. I sure did enjoy spending a lot of time there back in the day though. My favorite thing to do was leviate from the horde town all the way down to dark shore.
I used to go there often when there's world dragons, mithril ores, farm wolves for leather and food, and there was a quest guy there we visit part of the key to unlock raid instance. .. all the sudden my heart hurts from remembering all these...
@daeds That sounds about right, I heard it in ashenvale as well and then realized it was playing in Hyjal, although I got a music file that's 7:55 in length whereas this one is under 3 minutes? This is the one I was referring to though, thanks! XD
Wow! I haven't played cataclysm yet, I quit after wotlk, but this is NICE...such great music from blizzard. The deep movement of those cellos...whew, emotional stuff!
I remember playing this game as night elf.. Blizzard had screwed up somehow and all the creatures didnt exist. I made a lvl1 night elf and travelled from darnassus all the way to feralas(got to lvl2 on the way :P), then the realms restarted. Damn its been almost 2 years since I played.
Still, one of my favorite quests in game, was actuallty The Missing Diplomat. I wish I could've done attunement quests while they were still available. I ran into Onyxia's not too short ago, and such quests are far more epic than just killing some stuff on a faraway expedition.
@PaladinDrakkenwolf DBM was updated with a "Make Archeology More Interesting" option that's turned on by default. It played C'thun and Yogg-Saron sound files whenever you found a keystone.
the old music was like:"all is peaceful lets make the best of it" but now it is like mysteries, war. lament and standing up to whatever(the night elf theme)
@HazreihelUchiha Well, by that I ment that the Alliance has a rather large stronghold, plus three other camps, one of them next to some large ruins, plus that town on the new shore of the Thousand Needles The Horde has two little tauren villages that small ogre outpost. If you look at the way both sides bases are placed, the Alliance have theirs all around, while the Horde's are really pushed into the far edges of the zone. The allys surround the Horde, and the Horde isnt making any moves.
Blizzard gets concerned with getting more and more content adding new zones when there's a lot of potential in old zones like this one, NE have no home, what about reclaiming Dire Maul they already have a strong vast army sitting in feathermoon stronghold Feralas is perfect for NE and Dire Maul has so much potential for a revamp
i was walking around with this awesome peaceful music playing and then saw a goblin with an avaliable quest so i clicked on him, he screamed "yo!!!!!" so loud and the volume was on high it almost gave me a heart attack.
DO I HAVE A DEAL FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jure wAllah maintenant lil baby c'est pas le goat ?
*TIME IS MONEY FRIEND*
It’s the little stuff like that I have memories of that make me love this game. I do miss the older years wow kind of isn’t the same anymore :/
@@dudders___1684 yea it's so different now
I was once walking to a friends house at 3 am.
I do the same stuff, my friends think I'm crazy
One of the more underrated tracks of Cataclysm. :(
Feralas has always been kinda lonely though. Amazing track regardless
ah man naaaaah some people turn on that music loud and immerse in some 101s
only for you
Feralas... most underrated zone by far. It was basically more badass, darker and dangerous version of ashenvale
I enjoyed Feralas (and Azshara) *because* of the lack of infrastructure/quests. These zones were absolutely beautiful and were a pleasure to wander around aimlessly and I almost always had the place to myself. Boring if you're trying to power level or something, but fantastic other than that!
Exactly. Remember that island off the west coast of Feralas? ah memories...
Yeah, with all the Naga! It was so beautiful there. I used to go there just to walk around and enjoy the scenery and I *never* ran into any other players there. I loved pretty much ANY of the places that had Naga, since they always lived in such secluded, beautiful places.
Amelia Daermon yeah :) I won't forget my first time night elf adventures in Kalimdor
+Crest Fallen i loved feralas, i used to RP there...great atmosphere, great zone ,great music, its perfect ;D
that's where I went for the same reason too. the music relaxed me :)
For someone interested in the lore like me, Feralas had great ruins (Dire Maul), history and awesome music.
Feralas was honestly one of my favorite zones between the music and just how green and lush and forgotten the area. Right up there with pre-cata ashenvale.
My favorite zone in ANY Mmorpg. And the music is top notch. One of my favorite tracks in all of WoW. Right up there with Dragonblight and Uldum.
i love this place on wow, just flying around the twim colossi and the shoreline there lookin out at the sea with the peaceful music in the background
I had no idea they re-used the song, but yeah it somehow really captures the feeling of zone once inhabited by noble melancholic spirits
Best vanilla zone by far. Just thinking of those waterfalls and beautiful roots covering old stone roads with hanging flowers from huge old trees makes me want to at least farm there or something.
I'm happy this song came up in Court of stars !
Abdulla Marri I knew this sounded familar...
Mournful and serene. I love this music.
Scenery and music are so fitting for RP'ing c:
I always have this song play in the background while i solo instances, i have the feeling that it give me alt of luck. I have had several blue proto drake drops and other mounts drop when i have this playing in the background. :)
Ohhh... Feralas.. What a wonderful zone and music there.. Great place leveling a night elf druid.. Many memories from the old..
Feralas is one of my favorite places in this game.
I never found this zone "boring." I love the green and the rise and fall of the landscape. It's one of my favorite zones, in fact. And this music is tremendous.

The most beautiful music in the game.
Never stayed too much time in Feralas, but this music is incredible.
One of the best vanilla areas along with Winterspring and Tanaris. I adore this place and questing in this giant forest alongside my fellow cows (Tauren for life!!!) is such a treat on so many levels!
Working on my Loremaster achievement! I loved doing this zone :)
Utterly beautiful
Best place ever...dispite the few quests there Feralas is one of my favourites places in wow behind Ashenvale.
I wanted to play classic, but i cant imagine going to Feralas and not hearing this cata soundtrack...
Beautiful song. old wow zones are well designed like music, lore etc.
I didn't like this zone at the time, but I remember dinging 50 here, getting my Felguard, and being chuffed as all hell! man were those the days or what!
Wish the real world was made that way, khkhkhkhk gamer's dream
Makes me so happy and relaxed when I hear this :-)
It gives you feel look like an ancient era of elves 10,000 years ago.
oh yes best feeling after sex
or combined with nice girl uaaha
Thats for sure..
When this plays I think of the Emerald Dream....
That violin made me tear. =')
If uou think Feralas is boring you must have never played WoW...
Awesome music! :) The WoW soundtrack is one of my favorites!!!
Oh I remember how many times that I got killed by these oozes after I am dazed and unmounted :( give me year 2006 back please
the last 60 seconds its beautifully haunting, my favorite part.
I just now realized tonight that the Isle of Dread sunk.. Just been a long time since i entered this area.. Luckily i found health spots within the area and that my toon was a priest. I've always enjoyed this area to some degree.
The part with the sad violin always makes me sad aswell, so beautiful :((
I remember doing that too, in wotlk, was so magical back then and still is.
I remember falling to sleep at the keyboard whilst attempting to quest in Feralas I hope they liven up the place this time around.
Music for times that have come and gone and will not come again.
best zone ever!
I quite enjoyed questing in Feralas acctually. If the place wasn't peaceful, lonely and serene enough before, it sure is now.
After my dog (4 years old) was misdiagnosed and died I was playing Elysium wow non stop to keep myself from thinking about it. I was grinding steamwheedle rep in this area. Now my brain always associates this melody with not having her anymore.
Sorry. It helps to write about these things they say.
Why did I have to quest so fast through this place... Why didn't I just take it slow and enjoy this masterpiece...
this music fits perfectly - the old has passed away ... lament ... lament ... the old has passed away ...
Awesome quests, awesome music. I love Feralas
Best track ever
Hope world of Warcraft is real,, just in a planet far away from us,maybe NASA already knows,, maybe magic does exist,, maybe I can marry a night elf
+Aleksa Petrovic don't worry, Blizzard will handle that
+阿煜王 It's real we humans call it LSD
It exists, it's called paradise
I quested in feralas some days ago to get loremaster achievement and every time I heard the this nice piece of music at beginning it felt like " metroid " water world :P
This could also fit in scary games like Resident Evil / Silent Hill etc with a deep story :)
Love the description, haha
Wow I don't think I ever went to felwood during cata, I had no use to go there. I sure did enjoy spending a lot of time there back in the day though. My favorite thing to do was leviate from the horde town all the way down to dark shore.
I can fall asleep to this music. it's so peaceful. :D
...Sleep... comes here... to... sleep... Slipping into... Dream... its kind of emeraldy... teehee...
That cello track that starts at about 9 minutes though, gorgeous
@DesShai
Doesn't detract from the beauty of the music. I love Ferelas, its soothing XD
Soundtrack 2 is really one of my favorites. Yeah, great music for Feralas, but I think that so it is with the forest zones of Kalimdor.
Feralas. Everything is GREEN.
5:20 an oboe would go great with this
I used to go there often when there's world dragons, mithril ores, farm wolves for leather and food, and there was a quest guy there we visit part of the key to unlock raid instance. .. all the sudden my heart hurts from remembering all these...
+omophagia Did you play on Nostalrius? :)
nah old timer with good (but cursed) memory
Ah I see. I loved to relive my memories on the Nostalrius vanilla server.
so calming...
This was one reason I bothered doing archaeology, especially when one of the dig sites were in Feralas. I could stay there forever if I had to.
Did anyone else notice at the beginning, and more specifically 0:39 that the four notes in the background sound like Uldum?
I found myself naturally drawn to this area. Wish there was a sheet music available for download of this piece.
My fav place in Azeroth I think, too bad it's so low level -.-
I miss cata :(
Fucking same😢
Your description describes me in so many ways :)
@misterbearbe Hahaha! I loved it. Feralas is neat, but I felt far more..tired in it than many of the others.
I remember playing this game as night elf.. Blizzard had screwed up somehow and all the creatures didnt exist. I made a lvl1 night elf and travelled from darnassus all the way to feralas(got to lvl2 on the way :P), then the realms restarted. Damn its been almost 2 years since I played.

running about in the lush green forests doing quests on ogres, faeries, silitids and the forgotten coast...
3:20 🥹🥹 so beautiful
"well SOMEONE on the music team sure has a hardon for boring zones" - I lol'd
I only heard this when I ran a Mythic + Court of Stars
i wish i could go to Azeroth and hang out with the Tauren and the Night Elves
One of the last zones on mainland Kailmdor that remains mostly Alliance
@PaladinDrakkenwolf DBM was updated with a "Make Archeology More Interesting" option that's turned on by default. It played C'thun and Yogg-Saron sound files whenever you found a keystone.
Now, this zone is no longer boring, it was actually pretty good
Hey I LOVE the music here!! :D Very Peaceful
Yea Blizzard has a knack for fixing what was never broken, but the music is almost always spot on.
Farming ogres for cloth all day and just waiting to see if the rares in the arena would spawn. such good times!
首席健康生活館超級好批
the old music was like:"all is peaceful lets make the best of it" but now it is like mysteries, war. lament and standing up to whatever(the night elf theme)
listen to this sound and walk trough silvermoon
my favorite zone from all wow ^^, and dire maul story...more than imba, farmed here for the insane title...
@DarthSlayden You have two hell of some ears.
@Nagoragama
It's a dark expansion, as this is a very dark time for Azeroth.
Greetings from the camp of Griniblix
@HazreihelUchiha Well, by that I ment that the Alliance has a rather large stronghold, plus three other camps, one of them next to some large ruins, plus that town on the new shore of the Thousand Needles The Horde has two little tauren villages that small ogre outpost. If you look at the way both sides bases are placed, the Alliance have theirs all around, while the Horde's are really pushed into the far edges of the zone. The allys surround the Horde, and the Horde isnt making any moves.
This was one of the 2 zones I wished had more activity regardless quests or movement between factions (arathi highlands is getting love in BfA)
I love feralas, but it really could have used some upgrades trees in Cata like Ashenvale :P
@DarthSlayden I thought you were BSing.. but I'll be damned. Someone DID creak their chair at 4:26. GRR! Now that's all I can hear anymore >_
As much as i loved vanilla Feralas, the soundtrack for the new Feralas is great!
