@@ScottHermanFitness Yeah it's funny, I was just watching an interview with Dr Tony Huge, and it's like he's roughly the same age, takes basically an entire pharmacy worth of "supplements" and still looks considerably older. Yeah, people like that carry more mass, but it's never worth it.

He isn't kidding about packing the shoulders. I had a shoulder problem for the longest time because I wasn't consciously trying to pinch the shoulderblades together as hard as possible. It seriously increases stability

An OG Scott Workout. You introduced us to drop sets back in the day, and I still do them. I never see anyone else in the gym doing them, but I think they're great. Just getting back into the gym as Spring is here in Prague, and Covid is as good as it's ever going to be. Gotta lot of Covid flab to burn off, and I'm as weak as a weak thing, so it will be Scott Herman program all the way !

Hell yeah dude looking forward to the series. This looks like a boss workout. I really need to integrate (tricep) dips into my routine. I do them for chest but haven't for triceps in a long time. I was just thinking I need to go heavy for at least one triceps exercise. I haven't had sore triceps in quite some time even though I do full ROM and work them pretty decently (pushdowns, overhead extensions, sometimes kickbacks too. I think varying the elbow position is good). I was gonna try close grip bench press but man I just can't seem to get those right, i just lift with my chest, I dunno. But dips are good, thanks for the reminder big 🐕

Hey Scott!
I had a few shoulder dislocations and had a shoulder repair surgery, which allowed me to get back to working.
One of the things the physio cautioned against in my workouts was the chest dips, as he felt it put too much stress on my shoulder thats quite close to the dislocations and could be harmful.
Is there a safer variation of the chest dips(i hate to say it, but maybe partial range of motion?) that might work in place of it?
I do decline bench, decline cable flies and banded close grip push ups on a platform - to still target that lower chest right now
Well the goal here is to overload the triceps. I would say go with POWERBOMBS or a Close-Grip Bench Press!
Sorry to hear about the shoulder. Might be worth doing SOME dips with a band for assistance to still work on strengthening the shoulder area.

Hey Scott, I really love your vids. I'm trying to implement your 'only 2 exercises you need' over a week period. Do you think it's viable? I tried splitting the days like this: boxing.; chest+shoulders; back+legs; biceps+triceps; boxing; chest+back; cardio - repeat.
Hi scott. The lighter weight for the chest exercises...how MUCH lighter compared to heaviest you can lift in terms of weight?
Well, this will vary A LOT over the course of your first 3 - 4 workouts. I'd say start with about 1/3 of your working weight.. If it is too light.. go up from there. But after a few sessions you will notice you will be able to handle more weight on the lighter drops as your endurance increases
What is "packing the shoulders"?
Also, last time I hit a gym they hammered on the importance of a cardio warm-up and cool down which aren't mentioned here. Does that play a pre/post/both role?
Why no overloading sets?
You should still be overloading man. As heavy as you can, especially on the first set of 8 for each drop set. You should be trying to increase the weight each week!

Hey man, what do you mean? That is just the regular starting position. If you mean why do I start at the top, not from the bottom, it’s to save energy from trying to grind that first rep from your chest!

no, cables flys are great. But if someone is telling you you can do a workout of "ONLY" cable flys and build a massive chest... they are full of sh*t. 😀
hey man i was wondering how i could fix my chest because my upper chest has a lot of muscles but my mid and lower chest have barley and muscle and i was wondering how i could fix that

Completely unrelated to the vid but I’m having trouble with my bench I can get 185 for 6/7 and 195 for 4 however for some reason the first few reps feel incredibly easy(185) but all of a sudden get extremely difficult by the 4th/5th rep any tips to fix this I wanna rep 225 by end of summer, any help Is appreciated thank you

yeah, youtube has been actively destroying my channel for years. Subscribers message me all the time about how they don't get notifications and will periodically be "unsubbed" fro my channel as well. They do it because at the end of the day UA-cam is a business and they want NEWER channels to get more views so they can suck new creators into their system. It's essentially slavery. You become a slave to their algorithms if you want to "stay popular".
It's very sad. But lucky for me I don't depend on UA-cam so I am only focusing on the content I want to make 😀

Dips hurting my shoulders isn't something I can just work through, my left shoulder gets seriously fried, if I do one set of dips to the point that I'm pressing hard and approaching maximal effort, my left shoulder will be messed up for about a month.
