- Rainy days in Mount Rainier National Park -
I stayed a week in a cozy cabin outside of the park and took the opportunity to shoot a few photos while on vacation. The conditions were rainy and overcast all week which made shooting compositions of the mountain and greater vista viewpoints a challenge, so I made the best of it and explored the various waterfalls and river scenes in the park.
All drone footage was shot legally outside of national park boundaries and restricted air zones - fly responsibly!

Glad that the camera survived! The girls and I love keeping up with your adventures. You are the coolest uncle!
Sometimes ya know, ya just gotta put your camera in a river. It happens, haha. Miss you guys!
I love your shot at 5:49, my favorite of the video
Thanks Nelson! That’s my favorite too 🙂
Great to see a new video Chris. I wasn't expecting that. The waterfall shot was great. I spent 7 days at a cabin right outside the park and never saw Rainier. Like you I pretty much did streams, trees and waterfalls. I hear that experience is not unusual. I did get a couple of shots of Mt Rainier through the plane window on the way home. Enjoyed it Chris.
Thanks Philip! Agreed, this was actually my second attempt at Mt Rainier, the first was a couple years back and it was exactly the same conditions. We went later in the year this time hoping to get at least one clear(ish) day but it never happened, ha. Still always a nice time seeing the PNW and enjoying the cooler temperatures!
Great video and images Chris. You definitely visit some amazing places.
Thanks Matt, I certainly try to!
Great video, I really enjoy your content! Cheers and Thanks, Chris
Thanks for watching Carlos!
we were suppose to be there around this same time but things came up to prevent it. Great image of Christine falls. keep up the good work.
Thanks Patrick! Hopefully things line up for you again in the future
Nice one man! I actually think the glacier is your best of the trip. I've been meaning to get up to WA. This just made it jump up to my short list!
Thanks Brian! WA is amazing and I hope you do get up there. I've hardly put a dent in what there is to see so I'll probably be returning for years and years and years, ha.
Great luck on the camera!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
schönes Video! Super Fotos. Werde mich schon auf dein nächstes Video freuen :)
Das ist sehr nett von dir, vielen Dank mein Freund!
I really like the last photo of the waterfall. It’s always nice to see the green, reminds you that not everywhere is a desert like Utah 😀
Thanks Paul, haha. Seems I’m often leaving to photograph something other than red rocks, yet lots of people come from everywhere else to shoot those same red rocks…
Another great video of some great photography. Fantastic … keep them coming! 👏 I hope one day we will meet again, perhaps up in the US for some epic photography. Glad that your camera survived the dunking!
Thanks Omar! Either in the US or over there in Scotland, I’d love to come see your local landscape also!
@@ChrisDarnell I would very much enjoy showing you around Scotland Chris
YT doesn't seem to want me to see your content... Had to search you out... Missed about 8 posts. Nice piece here, thanks Chris.
Ooof.. that's a bummer, hopefully that will stop!
The waterfall image is sublime. My OM-4T took a spill in a creek last year. It did not fare so well. :-(
Thanks Tim! Bummer about the camera, but I suppose it’s a risk that comes with the territory!
Sounds like you made the most of your time there, Chris; and didn't kill the Canon. Photos you displayed were awesome and accurately revealed the environment. Have to say, your choice of background music for this vlog was very appropriate, spot on and professional. 👍
Thanks Jim for the kind compliments! All things considered whether I got the conditions I wanted or not it’s always great being in the PNW, and still having a functioning camera is always a bonus, haha!
You should use the bronica more, lovely shots!
Noted, and agreed. Thank you!
Great short video loved the drone shots and the waterfall with bridge photo reminds me of my county. Did you get any photos of the fish when your camera fell in 🤣 Glad to hear it's ok.
Thanks Andrew, haha I forgot to set the 10 second timer before I took it for a dunk, I'll have to try harder next time 🤣
I grew up in Seattle and it was always a great day when the mountain came out to play. In fact that is people would say, “the mountain is out today”. Isn’t the second time this year your Canon has went for a swim? Maybe you should look into an underwater housing for it. I really liked the last image of the falls and the bridge.
Thanks Sophie, haha. If you mean the time from instagram a bit ago this was the same drowning, ha!
