My daughter Katie and I get together Tuesday for lunch, nap, knit day. She puts her 3 little girls down to nap after lunch and we knit and chat. Seeing you 2 drinking iced coffees sounds just like us!!! I so enjoy watching you both!!!
Wow 3000! That is wonderful. I like the length of the short sleeves on the sweater you are wearing. I prefer a longer short sleeve and that length is perfect. I did a test knit a couple years ago and it was so much fun.
I love your sweet podcast! Kaity, your Navalli is gorgeous!! I stay away from bottom up sweaters for just the reasons you noted, but yours looks perfect on you! I also have been lucky to find yarn on Ravelry when I ran low for a sweater--great resource! Congratulations on hitting 3,000 subscribers!!
Oh I remember piecing sweaters. They never looked very good. So happy that most patterns are top down now. I even try to avoid bottom up….except the Weekender. 🧶. Love your podcast and your mother/ daughter relationship 💗
Kaity, you could wear a flowy cami under the Navelli sweater. That's what I do with sweaters that are a bit too short to wear comfortably with jeans. I'll try to send you an example of what i mean. Because it's a cami, you don't have any extra material in the armpits to worry about if the sweater is already a bit tight in that area.
I always enjoy your sweet videos! I want so bad to join in on the ranunculus Kal. I just can't find the right gauge on my stash yarn! Oh listen to yall ! Yall are talking about this exact thing. I guess I should finish the video.😂😂😂
I really enjoyed watching the two of you together. I loooove knititng and taking. About it so I also have a small UA-cam channel and wish I could have an episode with my daughter ( but she doesn’t like knititng as I do) … maybe I will have her as a guest one day wearing some of the things I have knit for her over the years ha ha . Love all of your projects you are both so talented and I’m so inspired ❤❤
What a great idea to have your daughter on to talk about the knits she likes to wear. Never say never, Kaity and I have been knitting over 18 years together and just this year started a podcast. ❤~Diana
I got the notification you were on during Bible Study. Since I’m married to the discussion leader I had to wait to watch on Monday 😊. Congratulations on 3000! You two are so uplifting 🧶❤️
Autumn-themed might be easier to say! You two are just the best. I enjoy your podcast very much because you are so genuine. Keep on making those gorgeous knits.
Thank you for your podcast Love watching again. I realized one of the things that I really like about your podcast is that you are both so soft spoken and just a delight to listen to.
I just love the podcast and the relationship between the two of you. You’re so fortunate to have each other. Thank you for sharing your knitting with the world ❤
If you don’t like the shoulders how about taking the sleeves out and making it a vest ? It’s so beautiful and you probably have really good memories making it 😍💖
Congratulations on 3,000 subscribers - well-done ladies! I like the Andrea Mowry cowl you're working on, the yarns and colors are beautiful. I am definitely going to check out that pattern. I really enjoy your podcast, thank you!
What a fun podcast! I am crocheting on a sweater for my yarn shop. I have ripped so many times that I'm afraid I'm going to wear this yarn out. It was fun seeing all your knitting.
Love you podcast!! I think you striped cardigan is super cute. I think wore with a belt and narrow skirt it would be adorable!! The colors are so pretty
Congratulations on 3000 subscribers! I love seeing what you are both working on. I also appreciate how you work through difficulties like running out of yarn or sweaters that are too short or too big. That’s real life and real knitting.
Kaity - I sympathize with the length issue of your Navelli, and saw you continually pulling it down while showing us. I was wondering if you have any of the purple left? If so, consider picking up around the CO edge and adding length with a split rib in the purple. Yes, it changes the look but I think it might allow you to wear this beautiful sweater comfortably. I had to do this with a vest and it’s totally fine now to wear.
You are both such beautiful knitters, but it is encouraging to see the projects that didn't go the way you envisioned! Incidentally, I had said that I work with my SIL on Leicester Longwool and Wensleydale sheep in one of your previous podcasts as a comment. I think you asked if I made anything from the wool. It is rustic compared to what you gals are used to; the wool of the Colonists who made things to last a lifetime (no pilling), but yes I have made several blankets, use in spinning all of the time, weaving as a warp (strong), outerwear sweaters (wear like iron), bags both wet felted and not, and lined mittens and hats (it gets mighty cold in northern MN and this is a very warm, strong wool when I am snowshoeing or outdoors hiking in the winter, One of my favorite projects was a gansey sweater in the old fisherman tradition.
Trudy, sounds like a knitters dream life! I know it is a ton of work but what a blessing to be so close to your fibers origin. I’m a little jealous. ❤Diana
I recently frogged 2 Noro projects. I skeined, soaked and dried the yarn. The yarn came back to life it’s amazing now waiting for the next project. Noro yarn usually contains silk so doesn’t felt that well. I’m all for frogging and reusing yarn for a different project.
Oh Diana! It is so good to see that stripy cardigan you are going to pull out😜 and to see how far you have come😬. I am at the stripy cardigan stage in my knitting 🫣and it gives me hope 😁
Oh Jo, that stripy is a tame older project of mine!😂 It is definitely a journey that is so fun and offers so much growth and hope! 😂😅 Knit on friend! ❤Diana
Maybe a vest from your very colorful sweater could be made; just a thought as taking the sweater apart will be a very tedious project! Enjoy your podcast, take care. Hi from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA
I like the black cardigan. The other one not so much 😂 I will tell you I frogged a pieced single ply worsted weight self striping yarn cardigan and reknit it into a jumper 😮
Several years ago I also knitter a Felix cardigan and it was too large like your black one. I used a coral color Mountain Mohair by Green Mountain Spinnery. I took it apart and plan to reknit it in a Felix pullover in the next smaller size. That is my next project as I am finishing up an Edie sweater in ancient stash [ Silky Tweed by Elsebeth Lavold] . I am 69 and just don't look right in these oversize sweaters that are popular now. Each sweater is a learning project.
I too am a process knitter! I find the time spent knitting meditative and soothing! If my finished object isn’t for me, I can always find a loving home for it! Enjoy your podcast!
I love both of your sweaters you are wearing and y’all look beautiful! I have made my first (and probably last) bottom up sweater - I feel like I’m guessing with size length and armholes too.
I love the ranunculus sweaters! I have never knit a sweater and would love to try one. Can I knit this using a sock weight yarn? I'm so glad I found you podcast. I'm definitely a subscriber.
You can absolutely use sock yarn, that is the beauty of this project just about any weight yarn will work. The trick is to knit a swatch and see if you will like/wear the fabric that you have created. Thank you for watching and joining in on the conversation. ❤~Diana
❤ Your podcast was just what I needed to start my Monday-sweet, gentle, informative and inspiring. I am now on a search to find that particular sock ruler!! (Where did you purchase??) You two ladies are just delightful to watch and listen.
I’ve never knit that Caitlin Hunter pattern, but would it be too difficult to pick out your bind off? If it’s bottom-up and snug under the arms and too short, if you add an inch or two to the top, it seems like it would solve both your concerns. I think it looks lovely though!
I’m checking with Kaity now…..😂 She said it’s Magpie Swanky Sock color way Velvet Undergroud, she thinks. That girl needs to keep a knitting journal! ❤Diana
I love watching you both and enjoy the relaxed podcast that helps me get excited about my knitting and crochet!!!
Hi ladies! A BIG 🎉 CONGRATULATIONS on your subscribers. Love see all your beautiful makes!! Thank you for your podcast. All the best! Sheila
Happy 3000! I enjoy being one of them. I love your style and amazing progress each episode
So happy to have found your podcast! It is so lovely that you can knit together. Will be binging your other episodes! 😊
#fallintoranunculuskal2023! This is my first ranunculus. Doing it in a white cotton yarn. I enjoy your wonderful podcast, Thank you.
My daughter Katie and I get together Tuesday for lunch, nap, knit day. She puts her 3 little girls down to nap after lunch and we knit and chat. Seeing you 2 drinking iced coffees sounds just like us!!! I so enjoy watching you both!!!

I am the same way Cyndie! I avoid bottom up like the plague…..except for the Weekender Crew. Hoping to cast in on in the near future. ❤~Diana

I just love the podcast and the relationship between the two of you. You’re so fortunate to have each other. Thank you for sharing your knitting with the world ❤
Kaity your top is sooo beautiful I love the colours.
Thats something I would love to knit.
If you don’t like the shoulders how about taking the sleeves out and making it a vest ? It’s so beautiful and you probably have really good memories making it 😍💖
Oh goodness, I hadn’t thought of that! What an excellent idea. That may be where I start.❤~Diana

Such beautiful garments... love them all so much. And, congratulations on over 3,000 subscribers!!! sending you love, hugs, prayers.
Putting another Ranunculus on my needles is very tempting. It would be my 3rd.
Do IT!!!!❤~Diana
Congrats on 3000 subscribers - your podcast is so lovely to watch. That purple sweater is a lovely colour on you :)
Diana and Kaity congratulations on 3k. Have a great week
What a fun podcast! I am crocheting on a sweater for my yarn shop. I have ripped so many times that I'm afraid I'm going to wear this yarn out. It was fun seeing all your knitting.

Fantastic idea, Barbara! I hadn’t thought of that.~Diana

Always so happy to see you two!
Yet again❤… thank you Ladies for an inspirering podcast! Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
I too am a process knitter! I find the time spent knitting meditative and soothing! If my finished object isn’t for me, I can always find a loving home for it! Enjoy your podcast!

Beautiful knitwear! Love your podcast!
Love your sweaters Ladies! 😊
You mentioned adding info on making sweaters our own did you ever find it?
I have a cable sweater that has been 1/10 done that will be frogged soon. So much work but not finishing it
just found you ladies
I love the ranunculus sweaters! I have never knit a sweater and would love to try one. Can I knit this using a sock weight yarn? I'm so glad I found you podcast. I'm definitely a subscriber.

Thank you, Audrey. The sock ruler is from Twice Sheared Sheep. ~Diana
Love your podcast.. you talk about a journal. Can you tell me which podcast you show the journal or where to go to find it. Thank you in advance.
I am going to talk about my journal in depth in Episode 19, I think it is. I feel like I can show you more that I can explain it in words. ❤Diana
Did anyone else have low volume? I had the volume on my Chromebook at maximum volume and it was too low, which made the ads too loud.
So sorry you had trouble with the volume. Will try and be mindful of that on our end. ~Diana

I think she’s going to find a high waisted skirt of dress to wear under it but extending it is an excellent idea. ~Diana
Hi yall, wanted to ask, what is the purple colorway name in Kaity's Navelli?
I’m checking with Kaity now…..😂 She said it’s Magpie Swanky Sock color way Velvet Undergroud, she thinks. That girl needs to keep a knitting journal! ❤Diana
Thanks! I need to keep a knitting journal too, I'm no better haha @@thefruitfulhands
Could you just take sleeves off the striped sweater and wear as a vest?
Excellent idea! That will be my first plan of action. ❤Diana
