I enjoyed watching your tutorial. I’m just a beginner and I bought materials. It was grateful that you shared the tutorial with the viewers. And yes you were helpful. I’m watching you from Canada.🇨🇦
@@suewrensch2765 yes, the powder kind, not the premixed stuff. You can use it in place of flour or cornstarch as fake powdered sugar too and it sticks MUCH BETTER.
Add white acrylic paint to it. Sorry I forgot to mention that in the video. A lot of the brands are coming in the container white now but once in a while I get a grayish one.
You are a great teacher!!! I started making fake cupcakes. I store them in a Rubbermaid, but I’m finding that some are cracking. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!
Thank you for your tutorial. It’s very helpful. Now I can try making them your way and not stress out. So many good tips. I want to order the beads what size 3 or 4 mm? Thank you again💕
Hello, how long do they take to dry? My toppers are not Harding up after two days? Everything looked perfect when I made them. Not sure if I am doing something wrong.
They should dry to the touch within a few hours but the underneath can take days depending how much is on there especially if you live somewhere cold. I like to put a little fan blowing on mine to speed up the process.
Really detailed explanations, thank you! Please move the camera down, there is a lot of empty space at the top and you are falling off the bottom. Fantastic, I'm subscribing!
Thanks for subscribing 😊 I had some recording issues that day but I wanted to still put the video out because I felt that the information was useful. My videos aren't usually like that.
I have tried this and it came out good. But its been a couple days and its not super hard. if i wad to press on it, it could get ruined. Does it not dry hard?
It will dry hard. It can take a while for it to dry and will vary depending on temperature, humidity, etc. I like to put a small fan blowing toward mine to help them dry faster.
@@TeresaMcCreary I use DAP, but I've used others. It shouldn't matter. If you put a thin coat of that on your wall, it takes about a day to dry. This is piled up so it takes longer. Plus the air isn't really getting to the underneath part very fast.
No matter how thin my spackle is, I cannot get it to pipe. I’ve blown out the bag, and it still won’t come out the tip (I’m using a tip with a large hole). I’m really frustrated, and can’t figure out what to do😢
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It was my first try, so I bought a small container from Dollar Tree. I guess brand matters😋. What do your recommend? Where do you get it?
@@jenniferday8060 The Dollar Tree one is horrible, very dry and gray. I would say that's your problem. I use Dap but a lot of other people like Red Devil. You can get both of those on Amazon for cheaper than the hardware stores.
I just recently discovered "fake baking," and it looks so fun! I can't wait to make teacher gifts and more. Thank you for sharing your know-how!

Thanks Cassie! So helpful. Do you have any tips for making my spackle look white instead of greyish white? Thanks.

Thank you! this video was so helpful! I have one question, how do you seal the spackle?
You don't need to seal it. Is there a reason you want to?
Do you seal it when dried? What do you use if you do seal it? Thanks
No, I don't seal it
You are a great teacher!!! I started making fake cupcakes. I store them in a Rubbermaid, but I’m finding that some are cracking. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!
Which part is cracking? The spackling?
@@CassieSmallwoodYes. Maybe because I use the expandable foam?
@@moseygirlcreations that shouldn't matter if it's fully dry. But I guess it's possible when mixing chemicals.

Im struggling with finding the foam ball like you used. The one I got you can’t get anything to sticking through it. It’s to hard.
