@@tamiechiadenny-frank7899 I think Elisa meant in place of the first initial dollop of spackle she uses. So when she makes the actual topper, she puts a big dollop of spackle in the center, and then does the actual design around that. Elisa's saying if you put a small ball of aluminum foil in the center and then make the topper around that, you don't have to waste the spackle with a giant dollop in the center, because it uses the aluminum ball for its structure.
@@Heathalessyl thank you! Yes. This is what I meant. You can use a painted cardboard circle that you cut out and hot glue a wad of aluminum foil in the center.
I use a foam ball cut in half. Makes it less heavy and make a better shape. Joint compound still settles on itself as it says and will appear a little flat
Ok... this is genius! I will def try this as I sell coffee mugs on etsy and need like to style my mugs for the photos!!! I've never used real whipped cream becuase it would be too stressful trying to get the right shot before it melts lol. So this is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice! When I make mine, I place a piece of foam in the center, then pipe the spackle over it just to take up room so you don't use up so much of the spackle♡♡
That is adorable and I can’t help but notice your dog in the background how sweet just sitting there in his bed Watching you watching you what a beautiful dog have a great day !😊
Making a fake hot coco and cookie display for Santa this year as part of my Christmas decor. This is a good idea because I can still use my coffee mug after I’m done using it for decor ☺️
By just looking at the thumbnail, I actually thought these were real. Very creative! Must try. Thanks for sharing. Great for using for a cocoa and coffee bar display. Thanks for sharing.❤☕❤
In case anyone would wonder about dry times: I made a small version of these to use as decorations (they’d probably top a shot glass) and they’re still drying a day and a half later. The tops are try, but the bottoms aren’t so I flipped them upside down to help that out. I live in a really humid place and it’s been rainy off and on for the past few days. So for most a day and a half would probably totally dry these, but if you’re in a really humid climate, don’t freak out if they’re still drying 2 days in.
Question- if you put the spackling whipped cream directly on a tumbler lid, can a hot drink be in the cup without hurting the integrity of the spackling? I want to make some hot cocoa tumblers for my grandkids but I don’t know if the hot drink will melt the spackling. If so, then I just need to tell them to keep the lid off when drinking anything hot.
Love, Love, Love this video! Was wondering where you came up with this idea? Great Job! Thanks so much for sharing, and am looking forward to your future videos. Maybe you could incorporate gingerbread men somehow? Thanks Again, and God Bless You & Yours...
Hello! Love your video ! Definitely inspired! Just tried it and I'm panicking a bit lol it's been 24 hours and it still hasnt fully dried 🙈 any tips or idea how long until it fully dries! Tyia! :)
Ok... so I made some!!! They came pretty good!! So far I have made 8.... the first 2 didnt made it... as I was to soon and picked them up and dropped them... soooo I'm letting them sit for a 4 days...... they are cute!! Only problem is that everyone wants me to make 1 or 2 for them... thank got for the dollar store!!
We did actually!! I'll be making a video about it here in a few weeks hopefully! We are just waiting on a few things to get settled before making the announcement 😁
I made the heart black 😁 I used a sharpie and it comes off with rubbing alcohol. I've heard of other people using liquid eyeliner and paint too, though!
If you use 1/2 of a small Styrofoam ball as the center your whipped cream will have more height and stability💖 Love the peppermint.
If you put a small ball of aluminum foil inside, you use a lot less spackle
Question please. Where would I be putting this ball, into the mixture or the container itself?

@@kimyvettabrown358 foam balls are expensive believe it or not. :)
I could see making 12 of these, one for each month that represents the holiday in that month or change in season. Adorable ideas so glad you shared it
That's such a good idea!!
These would make cute candle toppers

That is amazing!! I've struggled with the rapid whipped cream melt myself! I'd love to see how yours turn out if you end up making them 😁

Another video suggested buying fake sprinkles on Amazon. A punch and some craft foam sounds perfect to me!!!
You don’t need to seal them with anything? I’m new at this. Trying it out soon. 😁
Can you use any brand of lightweight sparkle ? Thanks love the idea, I’m gonna try it for phone case decoration
I love making these. I made a ton of them around Christmas for other people. Thanks for sharing.
Can I ask where you bought your spackle? I found some at the dollar tree but they were tiny like 4oz . not even enough to make one let alone a bunch.
Thanks for the diy video. Which icing tip do you suggest to make bubbles? I plan to make toppers for a cauldron mugs.
That is adorable and I can’t help but notice your dog in the background how sweet just sitting there in his bed Watching you watching you what a beautiful dog have a great day !😊
Hahaha my pups are very patient with their diy crazy dog mom 😂
Great explanation! I'm going to try these!

I experimented with All purpose joint compound and they came out great!
Thank you for sharing your instructional and inspirational video for your darling faux whipped cream mug toppers! Great job!
You can use artificial sprinkles from etsy too! They make them in ALL seasons! I love this idea😍😍

I LOVE these and thx for sharing. Do you hot glue them to the mugs tho ?
That was awesome! Can you do it on a screw on top?

Very cute idea- Many are setting up cocoa or coffee bars at home. Also would be cute for a party decoration at the cocoa bar.
I just found the light weight spackling last week and can’t stop making toppers. ;) Funny I see this now. It’s really awesome to work with.
Where did u buy the lightweight spackle from
Can you tell me how long it takes to harden?
Ive been looking for a DIY video like this for so long, thank you!!
Love your tutorial! I wanted to ask if it cracked at all after it dried?
Yes! I wonder the same thing! How brittle is it after it dries?
How great! I am definitely trying it! How long does it take to dry?
This is rlly cute! Are you able to clean the bottom in case some coffee gets on?
These are Amazing! Can Real sprinkles be used? Or what other toppings can be made?
Super cute. Will have to try some for next year. Did you glue the topper onto the mug or just leave it sit on top?
This is absolutely genius
Ok, so I didn’t know how much I wanted/needed this until I saw it lol ❤️❤️❤️!! Thanks for sharing!!

I love this video. I made the whipped topping but it cracked in half upon drying. Any idea why?
So cute I will definitely give it a try thank you for sharing.
Is there a way to make the bottom waterproof or resistant enough to actually use on a mug with a straw hole? Other than the tumbler lids?
This is just so adorable!
Very very cute idea and I'm going to do it with my daughter for an activity
Omg I love this idea they look great. I’m going to have to try it

Hi, thanks for sharing this tips. Can i ask, when the sparkle is dried, does it still look like whipped cream?
Question... do you seal them with anything? Clear spray paint, modgepodge?
This is just adorable!
Where did you find the little heart punch?? Also are the hearts made out of foam?

Hi!! I made this and the look was beautiful but they were soooo fragile. What is the texture? Are they supposed to be solid like rock?
Is spackle the same as polyfilla? I’m in the uk😅
I've just discovered these and I was wondering the same thing did you ever find out if its the same ?😊
I love that you made these removal. They look so real, so yummy.
What i
Can I use in the uk instead of speckling , is it like a white sealant would work ?
Great job explaining how to do this project. Can’t wait to see more!

HOW CUTE!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Gonna do this tonight!!!
Do you have to add water to the spackle because mine wouldn't come out of the nozzle and it was new spackle. 😭
Omggg these are adorable 😭 do they crumble easily though? I'm trying to figure out a way I could ship them to people
Epoxy the topper. Let it dry for cure for at least 3 days b4 shipping
