So happy to have found this tutorial! Easy , simple to follow. You just saved me 50plus dollars buying whipped toppers online😊 can't wait to try this out!
Absolutely love the video. I sometimes have a problem with my lightweight spackling being to soft like when I apply it to my form it looks like it’s melting. Is there anything I can add to make it stiffer. Thank you . ❤
So cute! I like the way you make it with the styrofoam ball, it gives it more stability and use less speckling. Do you just place them on the cups or can you glue them on also? Thank you 😊
Thanks so much! I just place mine on the mugs because I use the mugs a lot but you could totally glue them down with hot glue if you're just displaying as decoration. Great idea!
Thank you! I am trying to make an artificial cupcake May i ask when it dries can i still put a cupcake topper on it - like i can insert a toothpick on it?
When I put the spackling in it wouldn't pipe out no matter how hard i squeezed. I watered it down a little and I still wouldn't come through. By the time I watered it down enough to come out it was too watery to hold shape. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Mix a tiny bit of white acrylic paint with it or make sure you’re using a big enough tip. The light weight spackling alone comes out pretty easy without anything you have to make sure it’s light weight not just spackling
How do you make it so the sprinkles don't fall off everywhere? I have some that even a year later, with set spackle, the sprinkles fall off, they never quite set into the spackle. This is a great tutorial though! I have been making mine with card stock cones in the center, instead of styrofoam balls, and I definitely like the fuller look with the ball underneath :) Thank you for the tip!
These are so nice, thank you for sharing, obviously, I'm a newbie, so this is probably a stupid question, but, do you glue the topper to the mug when it's done, or just lay it on there?
I just wanted to comment on your most recent video, but I’ve gotten everything to make car freshies but my aroma beads still smell faintly like glue/vinegar after a week and a half of airing them out, is there something I should do or can I start using fragrance oil on them? I’m so scared because I don’t want to waste product 😬
Do you have the beads in a container to air out? I keep mine in a large wide container so they air out a little faster. Past that, there's not a whole lot you can do other then wait haha. But definitely don't wanna be impatient and try to fragrance them before they've aired out completely otherwise you will waste product.
Idk, I just use it for decor in my tiered displays & on my coffee bar. If I were to use this mug to drink out of, I'd just remove the topper and handwash the mug before using.
How do you keep it from chipping once it dries? I think this would be a cool Christmas gift but I am afraid to mail it worrying it may chip off or something like that
So they can chip but it does have a slight spongey texture which makes them a little durable. But I just wrap mine up just like I would with glass Christmas ornaments and haven't had them chip yet.
I’m curious how you get the spackling to keep it’s shape? While doing it, it comes out beautiful. While drying it falls completely flat can’t even tell I used the damn icing tip lol. Anything to help there?
Decoden artists often use 100% silicone (also available at hardware stores) for fake whip because it's usually pretty resilient. If you decide to use it, you might want to research which pigments/paints you'd prefer to use since some paints react with the silicone and dry it out while you're working.
When shipping breakables i myself think that wrapping in paper or bubblewrap and then saran wrap and a bit more cushion works magically that plastic wrap does something different in there
You can put the white in the bag and put you tip on it from the outside. That way you can change your tips.
This is a great idea! You do a great job.
I’m excited! I’m going to make pretend icing for a cardboard gingerbread house!
@@mattt909 omg I LOVE this idea!!
Thanks for sharing and teaching , what kind of paint I can use for colors
Love them! Would add straw before whip cream 😊

I love the styrofoam ball method, Thanks doing a few mugs and stuff for gifts
Thanks for watching! 🥰
Do you seal it? It seems like it would break easily
How do you get them to stay in the cups? They look like they could fall off.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us! I am obsessed ❤
Have to ever used mod Podge after it dries to help it keep longer?
Love this!!!!
I love the green and red sprinkled one. It really sets the scene for a hot cocoa bar.😊♥️
Right!?!? Thanks for watching Chasity 😘
Omg im so glad I came across your video. The Styrofoam idea is brilliant !
Thank you! You made that look so easy that I will be trying it next week. 😊
So cute!

Thank you for getting back to me 😍
So you put the acrylic paint on after the 24 hours?
Thank you! I am trying to make an artificial cupcake
May i ask when it dries can i still put a cupcake topper on it - like i can insert a toothpick on it?
Would the spakling stick to a bauble that i found that fits inside my mug.? I dont have foam balls big enough
Very very helpful by the way!
Can I put this faux whip cream straight onto a metal jar lid?
To keep the sprinkles from falling off, maybe use the Mod Podge sealer spray? I have not tried it, but just wondering if that might work 😊

Do you want to use the mug again? Then no. Will it be easier to store separated? then no. Elsewise, yes. If it's in a high traffic area probably.
Thanks for the tips and advice. Love your gnome items!
How do you keep the sprinkles from falling off? I can’t seem to get them to stay on.
Nice video. I've done this before, but always look for how someone may do something different. Thanks.
Will the large styrofoam balls work for rae dunn mugs?
How do you affix to the mug when the topping is done so it doesn't move and is permanent?
Why would you want it permanent? You can use the cup. If you do want it there to stay then use glue..lol like e6000 or hot glue.
I have problems with the piping, just doesnt flow the way yours does.I've tried so many times, what am I doing wrong???
Same I can’t even get it to flow or hardly come thru…

@@CreativelyErica Thank you! Yes i’ve been airing them out in a container I guess they’ll just take a while longer than I expected :(
When I did this the spackle started coming apart and it never harden. Soooo what did I do wrong???
do you use it to keep the coffee warm?
No, just decoration. I display my cute mugs on my coffee bar or tiered trays so I just set those on top to make them even cuter ☺️
Do you know how to make fake Hersey bar out of a ice tray?
A few questions, how would this do under epoxy?
Don't use with epoxy
Is this safe to let spackle touch your mug rim?
Idk, I just use it for decor in my tiered displays & on my coffee bar. If I were to use this mug to drink out of, I'd just remove the topper and handwash the mug before using.
To make epoxy thicker to create drips mix corn starch into the epoxy a lil bit at a time u til you reach the thickness you want it
Great idea! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Please give me the size of the balls you used.
Thank you

@@stephi586 are you using the light weight spackle? It has to be lightweight or the spackle does settle and it flattens out

Cedt quoi cette matière blanche svp
You didn’t show how to make the chocolate drizzled mug topper… I was waiting for that one…😢
