Thanks for your video. I ordered Wgen 9500 tfc and while awaiting the delivery I'm looking at the videos to learn different tips and tricks, such as those in comments. I learned a lot! Happy to see that this generator served you well.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! Hope I never need to run mine outside of function testing, but grateful to hear how they have literally saved the bacon of others!
I have the same generator. It was great having power After we in NE Ohio were hit with a powerful storm on 8/6/24 that took out many power lines and utility poles. Without utility power and internet for four days. I also ran it intermittently to run the refrigerator and my sump pump. I have yet to use propane. I plan on getting a tank to try it and keep in reserve.
Yes, I did. On page 18 of the user manual there is a section entitled Transfer Switch Connections that suggests "removing the bonded neutral to ensure proper operation of household GFCI circuits," so I followed those instructions in the manual. Good question!
@@keithramm535 Yes it’s a question that some know about and a lot don’t. I had three electricians visit my house to quote transfer switch install 2 of the three did not seem to recognize what I was talking about and the third was a little fuzzy on it. I too found the Westinghouse user manual note about removing the jumper. When I showed the last electrician this particular page, it was clear to him now as to why it should be done. His words to me were: “I’m going to have to visit a few of my customers again.”
My machine only ran once just to see if all is ok but I am hearing that i should run it for a few hours then exchange the oil, is that something you would advise?
The maintenance schedule calls for changing the engine oil after 20 hours of use or first month of use. Then the oil should be changed after every 50 hours of use or every 6 months. So that's the practice that I follow and would recommend.
Finally, somebody showing where they are running the 50 amp to and how to hook it all up, thank you for this video

Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Did you un-bond the neutral on this generator before you connected to your transfer switch?

Thanks for this tip. I was not aware.
I didn’t unbond mine, just learning about it and no mention from electrician, what are the negative effects if you don’t unbond?

Have the same generator, and I am interested in the 50a cord you have. Can you tell me where you got it? thanks
Sure! Here is the cord we have: linktw.in/nvCvee
I have the same generator and it can barely run my well and a portable ac without shutting off

That make to much noise hell nooo😅
when inside the house, the noise isn't really a problem. When outside, it is about as annoying as a lawn mower.
