If there’s ice/snow, rain, heavy winds outside, I could care less about elegance or style! I care about comfort, warmth and safety! And even if the weather is fine, at whatever age I’m in, I’ll still choose comfort over looking elegant! End of story!
Then perhaps this channel isn't for you. Why watch something that you don't agree with from the start and then bash the content and the person who put time and effort into putting it together?
@@cindytucker1280 Who are U to tell ME what to watch and what NOT to watch?!?!? I watch due to curiosity! And bc I feel like it! And I will express MY opinion just as YOU can express YOURS! Any problems with that? Isn’t that what this platform is all about?!?!?!?!?!
So proud that more and more women do not give a sh*t on such fashion "rules". I (60) wear what I like. It makes my walk and my posture sassy, elegant and sexy and gives me confidence. Bussibussi.
These are only suggestions or guidelines for elevating your appearance; there are no "rules". Wear what makes you feel good. I'm not sure why you'd waste your time on a video like this one if you care so little.
All very nice if your feet are slim enough to fit into the brands you mentioned. You showed shoes with ankle straps not mentioning that if you are petite it will shorten your leg length.
Oh to be able to wear some of these shoes. Vionics are thé only shoes I can wear with my wide width feet and foot problems. I’d love to see you address that.
Thanks for sharing. I have never liked flip flops, I like my wedges and block heels. Trainers I have a beige pair of new balance a lot better . I prefer my comfort now in my feet 🦋
Wow… Not *one* of your Ugg alternatives could keep feet warm enough and provide the needed traction in +/- 0 Fahrenheit (-18 C), 60 MPH wind gusts, ice/deep snow, steep driveways and sidewalks conditions where I live. Actually, even Uggs don’t quite cut it sometimes; Sorels are the standard here. Sorels are more attractive than a cast and crutches! 🙄
After turning 50 I've really found it hard to find clothes and shoes that look good on me. I tend to dress too young and sloppy. Thanks for these tips, and I am subscribing!
Definitely, it's up to you to wear whatever you like she is showing you how a refined look looks like you want to stick to your flip flop it's your choice yet it's not elegant unless worn of the beach. I saw women wear them all the time for running erons or going to a fast food restaurant. in NY i saw women wearing them going to work and changing into classic shoes before entering their office building.
Welp, this verifies what I already knew! I'm anti-elegant!😅 I'm team combat boot, chunky/platform everything, and throw in the Oofos flip-flops too!❤ I'm definitely "lazy/low effort." Signed, almost 57 years-old.
What about walking shoes.? you will need one regardless of its bulky look. Fit flops are not the same as flip flops there is a big variety of sandles and it's one one of the most comfortable foot wear.
Hate pointed toe shoes. Have always worn flip flops and will continue to do so. Comfort and affordability are very important for me. None of the brands mentioned are very affordable.
I usually buy pre-owned high end shoes from eBay or Postmark. I often buy the same style in different colors because I know the fit and quality will match up with what I want. I bought a pair of Ralph Lauren pewter driving mocs (also a pair in muted brass) and these comfy, elegant shoes go with everything! Yes to kitten heels and I have finally learned how to care for suede. I'm a horsewoman, so I know how to care for leather and I always use shoe and boot trees to help my footwear retain its shape. I have a pair of boots that are 25 years old - they were expensive, but their quality a beautiful styling still brings comfort to me and compliments from others. This video is so true when it comes to finding elegant shoes - I think plastic heels make a woman look sleazy.
Women will choose footwear that they like and they certainly have the freedom to do so. If you want to look elegant you'll never wear sneakers and jeans outside of the gym, tennis court or other venues dedicated to exercise or yardwork. Otherwise, one should choose to pair sneakers with elegant clothing only if one has foot problems that cause pain or balance instability. Pretending that sneakers, of any kind, are ever elegant is just silly.
Excuse me !? Who you are that you dictate what we should do or not do wear in our age 50+. Everybody can wear what they like. I am 63 wearkng high shoe as well as fancy snikers and other shoes. The fact we are old does not mean we should look like granma....

I bought pewter colored sneakers. Love them.
Sorry you need fur lined boots with rubber cleated soles if you live with snow and ice

I'm sorry here in Canada in winter comfort and safety is more important than anything else.
Excellent advice. In addition to offering no support, the contact the flip flop makes with the bottom of your foot encourages the growth of calluses.
Yes, footwear is very important ❤
it would be nice if you could mention more affordable brands that have the same cuts and styles. Good advice though, thank you.
My favs are Clark’s and Skechers…similar and more affordable

I agree, that awful flippy sound when people walk around in flip flops gives me the ick!
Dafuq. I wear hiking boots or heavy riding boots every day. Oh but I'm over 50😮...oops. Wear what you want, Ladies.

You obviously don’t have real winter with snow and slush where you live.
I wear high heels , I'am over 55. Ich love my shoes

Bravo. Same😂
I don’t wear flip flops because I find them uncomfortable but there were several examples here that did look elegant.
I chose comfort over polished look and I don’t give a damn what other think about me.

Walking shoes are more streamlined than gym shoes.

hahahha
Flip flops look better than sneakers
Who says that? Do you hate women over 40? Stop ageing! Stop talking and keep your fashion for yourself!
Who writes this nonsense??
I would not wear sneakers at all
We want to be comfortable.. screw elegance!
