In the 70’s I was a cheerleader…we wore red Keds with our cheer outfit. I wore mine ragged and my mom would sneak them into the trash….and I would rescue them over and over! Two years ago she passed away, and shortly thereafter I bought a pair of red Vans. Every time I wear them, I smile and think of mom! I believe we, all of us, have a nostalgic story about some item of clothing. As for boxing sneakers, looks like a boot but comfortable as sneakers? Bring it!! Leoni, you’re a gem.
What a great story! Yes nostalgia! I was a cheerleader in the 80’s, I still have my green and yellow Converse one star sneakers, pretty worn in but I wear them with love occasionally.
I was a cheerleader in the 70s in Califorina. We wore black and white oxfords. I have a love affair with .I own 3 pair . I saw my mom wearing them as a teenager.
I love boots and love the thigh-high boots, too. They keep your legs warm in our cold Canadian winter. With a midi skirt, they just look like regular knee-high boots. With a shorter skirt, they look great. Add a long coat, and you are toasty warm. The hiking boot is a go-to boot as well. It's all about staying warm and dry.
Just please don't wear sheet panty hose or fishnets. It gives off hooker, trashy vibes. Wear opaque tights. They always look classy, especially patterned ones. One way I wear fishnets is with patterned tights underneath.
The hiking shoes are an element of “gorp core” which as a Canadian is basically standard issue, if only because of the weather. I love when these things come back around as trendy, it feels like a sudden boost of main character energy! ❤😂 The t-strap is pretty too, but indoors-only in my world. And yes - get the NB ones as a treat! I’d love to see you style them.
The advice I give to my 20 something nieces is don’t ever throw/give away good shoes or clothes. Everything comes back into fashion. I pulled out some Armani,Escada, C. Herrera etc clothes from 2008. I had wide legged straight pants, nipped structured jackets and sexy pencil skirts all in this year’s colors in back of my closet. All you need is a good tailor to update clothes if necessary but Shoes are eternal. ❤
I agree! Love your post! The comment applies as long as you maintain your boots and shoes, reheeling and resole-ing and nourishing the leather. rejuvenation creams are the way to go as well as baby wipes and brushes. I have kept shoes for many years and revamp clothes every year. It's so much fun to shop your own closet and only buy strategically.♥
@@deborahcurtis1385 So true. I have a cobbler and I put sole savers and good heel taps on all my shoes before I wear them. I take my shoes to them in the alternate season to be professionally cleaned and prepped for the next year.
@@PeggyPerry-c7z I’ll check them out. FF 2yrs and I’m at a larger store in Atlanta, GA, that staff at Hermes, Lenox Sq, yep I’m calling out THAT store, was so rude it soured me on the brand so I walked my wallet over to the LV store…. I remember when boxing sneakers were trending in the 80s. I lived in NY and was obsessed with a pair of Ponys. I think 80s rock artists made them fashionable back then.
I bought a pair of red Reeboks and a pair of red Mary Jane’s this year and find even just throwing them on with a simple outfit and red lipstick makes me feel so good
Thanks Leonie, I have enjoyed your channel now for about 2 years. I signed up for the fit TV which is another bonus to watching you. Happy Christmas and NewYear dxxx
The thing to do is forget about these “trends” I have a huge shoe collection which began when I finished school in 1980… buy only what you love in whatever colour you love CARE FOR THEM & KEEP THEM.
@@Thestyleinsider.I keep mine in their original shoe boxes in my closet. I have shoes that are 20+ years old. If I'm out shopping and see a pair I love but have nothing to wear with them I buy them anyway.
Wow, these shoe trends for 2025 are fire! 🔥 Love how we're seeing a mix of retro styles with futuristic elements. The chunky sneakers are still going strong, but those sleek, minimalist designs are so fresh too. Can’t wait to rock some of these this year! 👟💥 Keep up the great work with the style 🙌
Love love love my Salomon’s!!! My other faves are my Keens! I am all on board with that trend. Couldn’t be happier to wear them other than just on hikes!🥾
I agree with you regarding Salomon sneakers, I bought a pair on clearance at DSW and love them!!! I did some research and learned they are also sold at Nordstrom 💚
Hi Leonie, it would be great to see a video on fashionable/practical fall winter waterproof shoes/boots, or wet weather clothing too for those of us living in a rain or snow climate for the next several months
I love that you like sneakers because it feels unexpected. Your style seems to be polished with an unexpected edginess to it which is fun and I relate to
I think they’d look great on you. The other sneaker I think you’d love are the Coverse night tops in midnight blue! I just saw them on a neighbor and I’m a little obsessed. They have a great vibe, street and sophisticated.
You definitely need to get some red sneakers! I have some but I’m a little nervous about wearing them! 😂. I did sign up for the U TV year. I was looking for something like this to try. Great opportunity now.
Love ur vids! As a shoe "hoarder" ( like my mum says) I LOVE different styles and I wear them without caring if they r on trend or not. The only no no's for the next shoe trends for me will be: trek shoes and clog ( tho I like the "cloggy" suede styles ala Birkenstock😜).
I have most of the shoes you mentioned. I love shoes with grommets, studs, buckles, spikes, and sparklers. I have a pair of shoes like the last shoes you mentioned that I wear to work in the warmer months. I am the only female at my job in my position to give you an idea of my type of work.
Hi, new to your channel. I would get the boxing trend sneakers if they were on the cheap for perhaps a fun outfit or two. I wouldn't invest in them though.
LOVE clogs! The only ballet flats that look modern, to my eye, are with a higher vamp. Loafers - playform or single-sole are wonderful, but one must play around with the proportion. Kitten heels are dangerous, as the heel is too far forward fr where one's heels naturally strike the ground. Accidents in the making. Thigh-highs hv been around for years.
No hiking sneakers for me! I think they would be perfect for your personal style thought, Leonie. I'd like flats if they had more of a platform. That would fit most of my full length pants/jeans. I don't like to show my toes either, I have fingers for toes. Although I like the sandal styles shown here. A lot of amazing shoes styles here, thank you!
You should definitely buy the sneakers ❤ I bought adidas sambas this year and absolutely love them. But this fall I bought the new balance 237 and I feel like I’m walking on a cloud. Merry Christmas 🎄
I love to move it outside(weather permitting) …..walk bike and swim 🎉but you do you ;) move it or loose its so true . 😅gets harder as you age in a way ……. I have to move it first in the morning ❤I love trying new shoes out but needs to be comfy for me 😅
You should buy what you love, so get a red pair of sneakers and the NB trekking ones! I love the trend reports and will wear some of them. Clogs, flipflops, kitten heel boots, studded shoes, metallic and animal print flats.
I LOVE boxing sneakers! I’m so surprised you’re not into them Leonie😅 I grew up in NY and there was a time they were really hot. I’m so happy they’re back🤗
My all-time favorite shoe: Sezane’s Paula Babies, a Mary Jane style slingback. I have these in multiple colors, I love them so much. They have low, block heels and are super-stylish and feminine, but comfy. I’m irritated with Sezane for not restocking the navy blue ones, though, I’ve been waiting since last spring for them.
I love the denim top you are wearing. It almost looks like a jean jacket but not quite.. more simple and elegant. Where did you get that? It looks great on you. A bit masculine but elegant
I think you should buy them for yourself! I am going to buy a pair of red sneakers. I have wanted the red Adidas and now is the time! Thank you for the wonderful and inspiring videos you provide!
I love my thigh-high boots with my mini-skirts and -dresses. Also with those awkward-length skirts that I end up with as a petite, like those with hems that cut right across the kneecap (minis for tall ladies, maybe, but just weird-length on me. The thigh-highs eliminate the awkward gap that knee-high boots give). So long as they’re Stuart Weitzman, that is, they’re the best-fitting for my skinny legs and the most comfy. I have them in several colors, but I wish they would offer burgundy, dark brown and navy. They are expensive, but they never really go out of style, so I keep and wear mine forever. For a mostly dress/skirt wearer like me, they’re essential for winters, with warm tights.
Boxing sneakers: Part gladiator sandal, part sock, part boot. I guess the fashionistas will love them, but I don't see them being a hit with most people. The same with thigh high boots. The trekking trainers will also be a pass for me, just because I don't need them and they're not my style. The rest I'm open to! You got me thinking wistfully about my favorite pair of shoes that died. They were a block heel, red, patent, croc embossed, open toe, 3 strap, sandal with a squared off toe. Fabulous. I was so sad when the entire sole cracked in half. I was told there was no remedy for that. Sigh....
I live in the country so boots and sneakers are my go to. No clogs or kitten heels for me, even when I go to town, the streets are cobble stone, so no…and yes get those NB.
My favourite shoes are wing tip lace ups. A masculine yet feminine look.I have them in suede and leather. I get at least 3 seasons, look good without socks, ankle socks, and tights.
what is your opinion of the Maryjane sherpa ballerina flats the Sam Edelman Circus ones are they cute? or are they not very practical? I have been debating on whether I need them or not...
I had my mom search for the boxer sneakers in the late 80's early 90's because of the Janet Jackson video. I was cute in my blk ones and blk jeans and off one shoulder sweater🤭Pleasure principle is the name of the song to the video.
Well I’m thrilled to learn that I’ll be able to bring out my Valentino Rockstud t-Strap flats again! They’re so cute. At this point I think they’ve become a classic though. I hate sneakers they just look so clunky to me, anything but sneakers is fine 😂
The trekking sneakers remind me a bit of the chunky “dad” sneaker trend 😂 But if one really wants the look but with true functionality and comfort, I’d go with some of the reputable brands like Merrell, Salomon, Northface, etc that are designed for all kinds of “trekking” and will still be around when the trendy “trekking” ones lose their appeal.
So when the winter hits you down under you should definitely come to Copenhagen and enjoy a bit of summer - and a closer look at all our fabulous fashion brands: Ganni, Stine Goya, Baum & Pferdgarten, Henrik Vibskov, By Malene Birger, Skall Studio... And if you need a guide, just say the word!!!😍 About the trends: I can't wait to try the boxing sneakers! With very wide calves this could actually work since they don't go that far up the leg - and Scandinavian weather will offer many opportunities to wear something a bit warmer than regular trainers👍😁 Now the clogs are another hit with me. In Denmark ALL children wore clogs when I was little. They take a bit of getting used to, but they're great for your foot health, for you joints too as they force your feet to develop good muscles, and that is the base of good posture and a stronger body all together! I know it's not for everyone but I wish more people would give it a try - also, they're extremely hard wearing!!!🥰
I would like to vouch for the quality of Salomon shoes. Every pair of trail runners I have bought has lasted longer than they reasonably should have. A little pricy, but worth it for comfort and durability.
Well, some of these will get weeded out before the season even really starts. Some will carry over from this year into next with a couple variations. Clogs are a little tough (I used to wear a Swedish brand in college, loved not wearing socks with them) they are a bit heavy to wear around a lot. T-straps make nice "dress" shoes (the t-strap kind of gaps for me which I don't like though). Can't do red shoes, just can't. Flip flops are good, but skip the heels (even kitten heels). No to the boxing type sneakers (there is a more ankle height sneaker/boot that is nice and more practical), loafers (another hold over), thigh high boots (not practical for most outfits), trekking sneakers (sure why not).
I luv your channel and watch and listen whenever I can. I’d like to bring to your attention that as a professional photographer - the calling above your head lols like a hat and it’s sometimes hard to take you seriously because of that hat that you’re wearing. I mean no harm but just had to tell you - other then that your Chanel is fabalous!
Eu comprei recentemente um tênis da Salomon lindo! Vou usá-lo tanto pra caminhar quanto na cidade com roupas casuais, pra compor um estilo moderno. O meu é colorido. Amei meu tênis! Recomendo a compra!
Whenever I can I remove the shoes! 🤣I sold shoes for years & I loved them especially when made in American with combination lasts!!! Best fit & comfort! Now I love to walk in lush grass barefoot!!! Pure delight! 👏🤣 I have a few shoes that are very comfortable. I don’t have pretty feet ( at least my opinion) but thankful for them! Bring combination last back to America & all will be happy again!
I will take a pass on the boxing trainers and clogs for sure. Yes, treat yourself to the New Balance style. Loafers have always been my favorite shoe style. They are so classic and will always be a staple in my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing these styles for 2025.
If you can wear shorts or skirts/dresses above the knee (mid thigh) then the boxing sneakers can be looked at like "summer boots", but sneaker style. I have a pair of red Hasbeens (clogs) so I'll be pulling those out and killing two birds with one stone! Still waiting for wedges to come back in style!

Well I’m thrilled to learn that I’ll be able to bring out my Valentino Rockstud t-Strap flats again! They’re so cute. At this point I think they’ve become a classic though. I hate sneakers they just look so clunky to me, anything but sneakers is fine 😂
YES!
The trekking sneakers remind me a bit of the chunky “dad” sneaker trend 😂
But if one really wants the look but with true functionality and comfort, I’d go with some of the reputable brands like Merrell, Salomon, Northface, etc that are designed for all kinds of “trekking” and will still be around when the trendy “trekking” ones lose their appeal.
I just thrifted a new pair of adidas boxing sneakers at St VIncent for 10 bucks, they are a bit hard to get off, otherwise, I love them.
Yes I've heard they are amazing quality!
Yes. Is beautiful
Leonie, you should spoil yourself for the holidays 😅
Haha maybe I should! 😄
New Balance 327s are easily THE most comfortable shoes ever made. I love them.
They really are right? Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so x
My favourite shoes will always be a pair of mary janes
They're such a classic right?
They are the best.
Love all my red shoes😉
I luv your channel and watch and listen whenever I can. I’d like to bring to your attention that as a professional photographer - the calling above your head lols like a hat and it’s sometimes hard to take you seriously because of that hat that you’re wearing. I mean no harm but just had to tell you - other then that your Chanel is fabalous!
Haha, I'll have to pay attention to that! Thanks for letting me know! 😊
Hate the boxing sneakers and like you, I love most sneakers. These are just wrong-and what would we wear them with?
Eu comprei recentemente um tênis da Salomon lindo! Vou usá-lo tanto pra caminhar quanto na cidade com roupas casuais, pra compor um estilo moderno. O meu é colorido. Amei meu tênis! Recomendo a compra!
I watch Fabulous 50s and she is great. And it doesnt cost me anything.
Me too
I have 3 colorways of the 327s. I had to stop myself from buying more colors! 😂
SAME!!!! They are the best.
Black Chelsea boots with 2 inch block heel in high school with black stirrup pants 😁
Can you please share the link to new balance 1000? There are so many versions of those 1000ish that I got lost which one are the coolest😂
Same. In the summer I run around barefoot. I have tough feet and can walk on surfaces that make my husband wince. 😊
You love the trekking sneakers, so don't hesitate, gift them to yourself 😊
Thanks for the encouragement! xx
I remember when these boxing sneakers were trending in the early 2000s. I didn't like them then and definitely don't like them now 😊
Me too!
I remember in the early 2000s when the boxing sneaker trend collided with the heeled sneaker trend. Oh dear.
Love old fashion loafers . Slim lined! No thick or chunky & leather soles & uppers!
I will take a pass on the boxing trainers and clogs for sure. Yes, treat yourself to the New Balance style. Loafers have always been my favorite shoe style. They are so classic and will always be a staple in my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing these styles for 2025.
Not excited about these shoes 🫣.
Hopefully the accessories will cheer me up..!🤭🤷
I hope so too!
Floridian gal (living in Sweden)...I miss my flip-flop/thong shoes so much. Love them!
So it's never warm enough in Sweden to wear them?
Well…….already have all these shoes. ❤️ Except those boxing tennis shoes. No thanks!
Right?! I don’t know who’s wearing those 😜
If you can wear shorts or skirts/dresses above the knee (mid thigh) then the boxing sneakers can be looked at like "summer boots", but sneaker style. I have a pair of red Hasbeens (clogs) so I'll be pulling those out and killing two birds with one stone! Still waiting for wedges to come back in style!
I do have very old sneaker-like boots I got 12 years ago, i love them so much. But I was thinking about giving them away, not anymore. 😅
Those giant trainers remind of the dad sneakers, so that's a no for me, and no to the boxing trainers. Loafers, kitten heels--yes.
