It's the steel same stuff nothing new 12/27 old steel.and different handles.could have different steel may a price difference.not going to buy them .I got a lot of mora knives.they miss the point 👎😔
We understand that the price may not be for everyone, but we're committed to providing high-quality products that are worth the investment. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
Buy a Garberg, take off the handles and put wood on !
Like most die-hard Morakniv fans, I was SO excited about these knives. I even dismissed original complaints about price - until I heard the actual prices! Yikes! And then my excitement moved to shock and disbelief, and eventually on to disappointment and beyond...
From what I've read so far, the prices are terribly high and outrageous, and it makes me feel like Morakniv is leaving its quaint and storied past, and trying to break in to a new market altogether. It's totally unrealistic to expect the knife community (and people that pay these prices are most certainly "knife people") to pay custom knife prices for 12C 28N (or whatever the recycled stainless steel is) and hockey-stick Ash handles! I mean, it's absurd.
Go ahead, "charge what the market can bear" if you must, but just don't expect to keep the same nostalgic goodwill amongst us.
This is SO far removed from the company my father bought my first knife from.
Mora, you've 'cut' more than a few shavings off a featherstick with these new knives, you've severed the ties to your own past.
wow, i just went to have a look on their website after reading your comment, 169 euro for the least expensive, 239 for the most, its ridiculous and i am honestly disappointed
@@martinblouin3639 I'm in Canada, and that is $149 - $351 CDN. The lower end price range puts me into much better materials with similar build quality. Joker knives from Spain , for example, comes to mind. Joker has some great quality blades, most of which are available to me for less than the cheapest of these Moras. As my friend said, "The Joker's on you, Mora." 😂
The higher end price range... Well, puts me into ALL kinds of competitive options, including knives made in the US and some semi custom knives too!
What were they thinking?
"don't expect to keep the same nostalgic goodwill amongst us. " You could not have expressed it better.
The price is completely over the top but you don't have to buy it, you can still buy/use their cheaper models. Don't let this completely destroy your history and experience with Morakniv, it's still a good company imo. Vote with your wallet and don't but these new overpriced models, I won't buy them to.
@@pullo5518True, no need to buy the knives. And yes, I'll enjoy the Moras I do own...
Or will I?
Isn't that the point of everyone's disappointment? Mora used to represent something for everyone. The ubiquitous knife in everyone's pack/drawer... My first knife. The knife I bought my kids. Nostalgia. And we all bought in.
And suddenly, they've taken the success WE gave them, and clearly and decidedly left that ethos behind. The majority of people who will get these knives are the rich and the so-called "influencers."
That's not the company I enjoyed.
And that's what bothers me about this.
Greed style make bisnes put knifes to high! 30€'s knife price is,230€!! No way i buy that! If that knife not are gold!!
Hey Pete! We understand that the pricing might not be for everyone, but maybe you'll be able to try it out someday. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
Without blackened blade and good looking sheath this knife looks like cheap chineese utility knife from street marketplace in poor southamerican country. The price is from cosmos - for 230 EUR I can buy premium powder steel knife. No info about the steel. Every stainless steel can be made of recycled steel (except powder ones). If the steel is made from recycled parts why the price is so high??? This knife should cost less than Garberg with leather sheath. If someone want to scandi full tang knife with wooden handle should go for Helle - overpriced but beautiful and customer gets information about the steel. Shame on you Mora...
We understand that the price may not be for everyone, but we're committed to providing high-quality products that are worth the investment.
The recycled Swedish stainless steel is the same steel that we have been using for decades. We are just communicating how it's made from our supplier. The percentage of the amount of recycled stainless steel from our supplier is increasing each year, which means that we are getting closer to a more sustainable product lifecycle. Nowadays, most of the world's stainless steel products are recycled due to the high quality of the steel. The recycled Swedish stainless steel in our knives has over 80% recycled steel, which we want to highlight. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
@@MoraknivOfficial Would you buy high quality one sheet of factory made paper A4 size for 10 EUR? No? I wonder why...🤔Maybe because You not an idiot? So do You think the customers are idiots and pay that price for maschine crafted low end materials knife?
@Morakniv you are poorly communicating that this steel is the same as always used in your press releases etc. You need to be more clear. Its great that it uses a high percentage of recycled steel but without naming the actual alloy used it gives the impression that this new line of knives uses some mystery hodge podge recycled junkyard steel. Obviously it isn't but not naming the exact alloy opens up conjecture.
@@MPiKMS72 Sandvik 12c27 steel is ok but cheap. Ashwood is also cheap so why the price is from cosmic space? I have 200EUR knives made od premium powder steel...
@@assas5472 Yes so do I. Mora are making a Condor or BPS level knife and practically charging Bark River prices. IMHO if they wanted to make a premium line this is not the way to do it but Mora's marketing department must not agree. Joker/Casstrom are probably a better deal for most people.
Some buy them no matter the price 😲👎😬
If truth be told, they are fantastic knives. We understand that the price may not be for everyone, but we're committed to providing high-quality products that are worth the investment. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
@Morakniv they're not that fantastic, just different from your usual range! I fear you over value these very ordinary knives that have outpriced themselves from their place in a very very saturated market.
Perhaps you could release a clear and detailed video showing us how the knife is "handmade", discussing in detail what is special about the materials, what is unique about the blades. What is your guarantee on these products. Frankly these are the questions baffling fans and knife people that you are not answering.
Please listen and respond.
So a machine make's the blade a machine makes the handle. A man puts the parts together so it's hand made like all of the rest wooden handles knifes you have. And sell at a cost of 5 to 8 times a mora companion 😂😂
The affordable knife now made unaffordable....👎
I hope they speak more truthfully with each other when the camera is not rolling. The people responsible for the new products seem like they just landed on earth.
It's very expensive, for nothing special!!! the blade is not even of a very good quality steel!!! ... and are not very beautiful.
We hope that time will change your mind. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. 🤝
They really do look cheap and I can see the wood start looking dirty very quickly.
@morakniv can you provide a response, in detail, explaining how these knives are "handmade" what elements are "handmade"? It feels like the language you are using is deliberately misleading to your customers and I am asking kindly that you offer some clarity, please.
Hi friend! We face a significant demand for our products on the market. To deliver high quantities at a limited cost, we have invested in a high degree of automation for our high volume products. All products are however not feasible to undergo automation processes. With The Ash Wood Outdoor Collection, our choice of materials and quality standards, require a more manual driven process. Incoming inspection of raw material, certain steps in grinding and honing and handle assembly are fully manual and performed by experienced and skillful coworkers, each knife at a time, followed by a manual packaging process. Hope this answers your question! Warmest regards from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. :)
@Morakniv thank you for providing a response. I think the majority of consumers still won't find comfort in these details when trying to weigh up 'value for money' but as you've said these knives aren't for everybody. Maybe they'll do well in niche, low volumes. I am grateful you offered some clarity. 👍🏻
Новая линейка полный отстой по конской цене
It would be great if you offered more of your products with the handle from the 105 carving knife. Love the shape and simplicity.
Fick min Lok idag; ligger mycket bra i handen, men hade gärna sett ett hål för handledsrem (lanyard hole). Kan man måla skollorna direkt (med Falu rödfärg), eller måste de tvättas m sprit först?
The colors of the flags of our countries are the same! I even thought of moving to Sweden and trying to get a job at your factory...but the war...
Hope this war ends soon... love and suport from greece
@@stonedape3285 I hope so too. But unfortunately, this war will not end as quickly as we all wish. NATO should close the sky over Ukraine, because now it is Ukraine that closes both NATO and the European Union!
Well, we’ll see if the CEO is still around by end of year….or maybe
this collection be turned to a limited for 2023 series only.
I am so sad that I misses the opportunity to talk with the from the product development :(
There will be more chances, my friend!
Mora 🤟🙏💪.
Congratulations!!! What's a name of this new collection?
Thanks a lot! It's the Ash Wood Outdoor Collection, containing 4 new knives for different kinds of outdoor use. ❤
@@MoraknivOfficial I'll buy 2 of them! Lok(for me) & Rombo(for my wife;)) But I didn't seen them in Ukrainian stores yet ;(
Money1, Money2 , Money3 and Money4. Far too expensive for what it is. I'm out myself as a hardcore Mora fan.
@@MoraknivOfficialare those prices of usd $250 and more for all 3 knives in the series ?
Morakniv knives have always been my number one choice!
Thank you so much! Warmest regards from the Morakniv-team :)

Thanks for your positive words Michael! Yes, onwards and upwards we go. Greetings from Mora, Sweden, to NZ!
With love from Ukraine! Your knives help us a lot in this terrible war! I will definitely come with my wife to your survival courses, but after our victory! See you soon!
