Amazon listed them today at $84 usd. I ordered one.
like the video. apart from the pinpoint, Think the Dr Otke is the better machine.
Garrett makes a good quality product but if budget is a concern the Dr Otek does the job well too.

FYI you are not swinging the coil fast enough right to left if you swing it faster it will detect better !!!

Which Otek machine is better? Mtxr or mixed?
I want to get one for my son.
I only have experience with the MTXE and their Pinpointer. Both are good but I would start with the MTXE first.

Your video convinced me not to get the ace 250 or 300. I bought a Simplex instead.
I was an inch away from ordering the ace 250 or 300. Then I saw this.
I'm glad you got some information out of it. I haven't heard of the Simplex. What do you like better with it?

I ordered the mtxe 10 minutes ago. It dropped to $84 on Amazon.
Even Dr Otek is copying the Equinox....smart

That's interesting. I never considered metal detecting in low light conditions, and I wasn't aware the MTXE had that feature, but sure enough I just tested that and it can get quite bright.

Doesn't know the difference between silver, gold, copper from a rusty old nail, the one I got is not accurate at all
Part of the fun is getting a hit and not knowing what you can dig up and I don't mind cleaning up rusty nails from the beach, but a higher level of acuracy would be nice to have.

Which one smells better?
Smells and tastes the same but the Garret will be a little tougher on your teeth. I don't recommend either as a chew toy.
Swing it man dont faff on need to go quicker than that
