I've been looking at a decent but reasonably priced detector too put in the car if i get bored fishing. Thanks for the informative video, i've seen this for £120 on offer on amazon at the moment, so think i might snap one up at that!
And tips for a beginner? I have the same metal detector but not the wand. And I can't seem to find anything I get signals and don't find anything. What am I doing wrong
It works perfectly well on sand. Put it in A-M mode and play with the sensitivity. You might get a few false beeps in Wet sand due to the mineral content. Dry sand is your friend😊

This thing is a steaming pile. If you want a decent cheap detector buy a teknetics treasuretek. 0-100 discrepancy, better build quality, and after back to back tests it can't pickup up stuff 2-4 inches below ground. It malfunction in mildly cold weather. The connector port is open to the elements. It's a pile. Pay the extra 100 and get 10 times the performance. This thing is a gimmic machine.

you need the wand i was in the same boat as you, the wand is needed

It really isn't. It's outclassed by a factor of ten by a 200 dollar treasuretek.
