    My 2 cents but I don't recommend removing the rubber from the foot pegs for new or inexperienced riders... I've cut the back of my leg thru my pants on the bare grip of the foot peg with a different motorcycle and I have been riding a long time.

    Great Mods. Did you have to raise your front fender?

    • @ozarkgarage
      @ozarkgarage  2 місяці тому

      Nope, didn't have to raise the fender.

    i love that tire they seem to be great on any terrain . they just dont last on roads. i only get a little over 2k miles on the rear. but i will buy them more often because i love them. and the exhaust pull the resonator out cut the screen off it and put it back in. very little difference in sound and no difference in speed but does seem to give more torque. i just rolled over 8000 miles on it i want to do some engine work to try and get a little more power. but i'm finding it hard to change something up that runs so good as it is. i have just started playing with gears. and found 15x36 is just to high geared for my weight. but found 15x39 seems to be good for me for speed. but off roading i found a 13x41 seems to work good for me. so i will keep the 41 on the real and run a 15 on the front and its so close to the stock 14x39 i cant tell a difference. but yet i can drop the front and get more power. just a couple things i have tried so far.

      Does yours have ABS? I have read about messing with the gearing causing issues with the ABS...

    My wife’s nephew got one I was amazed how fast he was flying down the trails in front of me on my WR250r I did not know where we were new trails he also installed a rear seat and passenger pegs which I’m my opinion should have come standard I heard it has to do with emissions

      As limited on power as these already are, 2-up riding would be a challenge.

      I actually own a wr250r and my dad got a trail 125 to learn to ride. Last trip he was getting better but still struggling, and I started worrying it was the bike holding him back.
      So I asked if I could take it out and try it. Wow, what a fun ride. With the rpms up there, it moves well enough. I was flying down the unmaintained fire roads, with rocks and ruts and bumps and the suspension did FINE. Everything was good enough to have a blast. Yes I've been riding for 20 years so nothing about the bikes limitations challenged me since I can deal with whatever, but the light weight, low seat height, quiet nature, and comfort made it seem like a blast. And that's stock. Going to get my dad some trials tires and a 13t sprocket and I think it'll be a great easy trail bike.

      @@pawelallable absolutely my wife’s brother in law and nephew have the 150 XR and trail 125 Nathaniel has trial 125 and he flys down the trails I’m behind because he knows the trails but they beat the crap out of them I was going to buy the 125 before I found this WR it’s the best of both worlds I may get a 125 at some point for the wife and I

      @@markkus1134 No doubt the wr250r is a better more capable bike for anyone able to deal with the high seat height and great weight. I love my wr250r.

    How was the tire change on paved roads?

    • @ozarkgarage
      @ozarkgarage  7 місяців тому

      When you are riding, you can't tell a difference on the road. Off the bike (standing by the road as it goes by) you can hear more tire noise.

      Didn't want to raise the gearing (effectively) with a larger tire, it's already underpowered.

    It’s really a shame they didn’t give these bikes a low range. In my opinion that’s what separated these bike from the rest back in the day.

      The first gear could be considered the low gear. It’s geared much lower than the super cub.
