How have I missed your videos until today??!! I'm likely older than your mother in law and I'm learning so much from you. You are lovely to listen to also. So many young women end their sentences with a questioning inflection. You do not. You are firm and know what you are teaching. My herb garden is certainly going to grow exponentially this year. I am only on my first "Fae lesson" and I'm so excited now for my upcoming Massachusetts growing zone. Thank you and hugs to your mother in law. You are both doing something wonderful together
Awesome! Just finding your channel. I love herbs and have started my medicinal garden. I just bought several plants yesterday. Looking forward to your remaining videos!🥰
The bone set plant that you were talking about it grows wild in Syracuse New York like there's a ton of bushes across the street from my house that has that
Watched half yesterday night, now watching the rest. I am an herbalist too, trying to grow as many of my own herbs, but have a small city yard, so I can’t have 140 Herbs lol but I’m so pleased to see you talking about them. Rhodiola looks cool, I remember harvesting it in Ukraine, when I lived there, it grows wild. What zone are you? I have Passionflower, but keep it in pot and bring indoors for winter, I’m afraid it will die in Chicago’s winter. I wonder if it’s the same as yours or not
There is so much joy in herbalism, isn’t there? Especially when you can use herbs you’ve grown yourself. I know there are some rhodiola that grows here in Appalachia (zone 6) but it is very hard to find and best of not harvested due to it becoming rare. I wish I could see it growing wild in the Ukraine! I would try planting one of the off-shoots of the passionflower this year and see if it comes back, that way you don’t risk the mother plant. Something I have noticed about it is it’s one of the last of my herbs to emerge in the spring so don’t give up hope if you don’t see it come up right away!
@@faehollowhomestead19 I live in zone 6a. I was given a passion flower root last fall. I thought it didn't make it through the winter. It is the end of June and It just started showing itself.
Yellow Gentian is what I need to know from seed. Do you use Strictly Medicinal Seeds? You do NOT want to completely eliminate Candida from your system. It actually has a function in your digestion.
@@faehollowhomestead19 Yeah, he is pretty decent, especially if you are buying stuff from him. He always sends me to his store to buy books that cover MAYBE 10% of what I am interested in.
I love this question! I did a whole video talking about my favorite herb books but top five have got to be: 1. The Medicinal Herb Grower 2. Making Plant Medicine 3. Growing At-Risk Medicinal Herbs all written by Richo Czech 4. Both the Herbal Antibiotics and Herbal AntiVirals books by Buchner 5. Rodale’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs I think that technically that’s my top six favorites but the two on number 4. are basically inseparable.
I got my soapwort seeds from strictlymedicialseeds.com and they are super slow to germinate, often taking up to 30 days. You also want to surface sow the seeds and just press them into the surface of the soil.
@@faehollowhomestead19 Yes, they are a great company with the most incredible seed selection. I still have a few soapwort seeds left, so I am excited about trying again.
@@faehollowhomestead19 I just found your videos. Love them. I noticed that the plant you called boneset did not look like a boneset that I have in my area. Eupatorium perfoliatum is the one used for the most potent medicine. It does have the appearance of the stem running directly through the leaf. There is also a Late summer boneset that is not quite as strong, but that doesnt look like your plant either.

Thank you so much! My mom drilled it into me growing up that every sentence should NOT sound like a question. I’ll thank her for that now!

Thank you! And good luck!
I've learned a ton from these herb videos thank you!

I have motherwort, it looks similar to your mugwort, need to add it to my list, also soapwort sounds cool

You do NOT want to completely eliminate Candida from your system. It actually has a function in your digestion.
Strictly medicinal seeds is my FAVORITE and Richo Cech is my HERO!

How did you germinate the soapwort seeds? I could not get mine to germinate at all.
I got my soapwort seeds from strictlymedicialseeds.com and they are super slow to germinate, often taking up to 30 days. You also want to surface sow the seeds and just press them into the surface of the soil.
I’m not affiliated with strictly medicinal seeds and receive no compensation by promoting them, they are just the absolute best!

Well what is the easiest plant to grow and to start with
Your basics would probably be easiest, like rosemary, basil, lavender. Soapwort is very easy and elecampagne or marshmallow.
Where are you located?
Hello! I am in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia in the U.S.
@@faehollowhomestead19 cool! I’m in coastal MS zone 9, I’m originally from Pennsylvania 😉
My boneset doesn’t look like that… mine the stem perforates the leaves.
Hmm, that’s interesting. I wonder if it’s a different variety?
