Возможно зависит от качества угля. У немцев много бурого угля, а наш кормят антрацитом (краем уха слышал, что была классификация углей для разных топок, разного предназначения)

I always love when one off these old trains drive through my old hometown :) Always a Highlight. Especially since you can always hear them way in advance. My family has a rather big train history as my grand, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather were operators of such machines. My mother always is excited like a little kid when she sees or even hears those things as it was her childhood to an extend

Two were probably needed to actually move it all, the third is used as spare power in case one breaks down, so they don't clog the line. Also, the more locos used, the lower the stress on them, so they last longer between maintenance. The last reason is a general sore spot for steam engines. When climbing a grade, its not to hard to stall out a single loco, and when it isn't stalled, its going rather slow. More locos = more horsepower = greater speeds when going uphill. I compare what Al Krug had to say with that from an engineer for British rail who had retired from steam engines when EMD arrived on the scene - "the harder you work them (steam), the better they perform", whereas Krug maintained that 5 times the speed did not equate to 5 times the horsepower - or vice versa (my interpretation).
@@hughvane Your welcome. There is a certain truth to the "the harder you work them (steam), the better they perform" quote as you want to work them at the rated horsepower, or rated power output. Below the rated power output speed, the loco will produce less and less horsepower as it has an upper limit of pulling force, where a diesel won't if it had the traction for it.

Die 44 Dampflok zog alleine bis 1200t mit etwa 30 Stundenkilometer diese drei Dampfloks arbeiten etwa so zusammen Zwei Dampfloks ziehen die Lasten Die letzte Dampflok schiebt an das Bewegung also kein Schleudern und Stehen bei der Anfahrt auftritt Die dritte Dampflok sorgt bei den Lasten dafür das die zwei Dampflok vorne gut 👍 Anfahren können Auch gibt die erste Lock das Signal zum Anfahren bereit und die 2 wird auch bereit sein wie Nummer Drei auch gibt die dritte Dampflok Signal für schnelle Fahrt Übrigens braucht man auf Dampflok eins und zwei bei den Lasten mindestens 5 Tonnen Kohle fom Wasser ganz zu schweigen Da brauchst du keinen Leistungssport mehr Jungs Damals warst nicht mehr am Abend am Fernseher sondern nur kaputt

So majestic! I've seen many different engines, from huge diesel engine in a ship to those gigantic B-777 jet engines... but there is something in steam engines that evokes awe and admiration from me.
Wir sehen hier des Ökofreaks Herzattacke auf Schienen in Aktion! Wenn man ganz genau hinsieht kann man an einer der Loks die Strichliste sehen, wieviele beim bloßem Anblick umgekippt sind! XD. Für uns Eisenbahnfans gibts es nichts schöneres als diese alten rüstigen wunderschönen Eisenschweine in Bewegung zu sehen ;).
Das ist wohl wahr. Ich habe damals eine BR44 gefahren. Ich bin mittlerweile sehr betagt aber jedesmal wenn ich solche Sachen sehe geht mir jedesmal wieder das Herz auf. Ich hatte damals auch einen fabelhaften Heizer. Heinz Keller war sein Name. Leider verstarb er letztes Jahr. Wie oft waren wir immer wieder auf Dampftreffen. Unser schönstes Erlebnis war folgendes. Wir fuhren mal in das berühmte RAW Meiningen um alles mal zu besichtigen. Und als wir in der einen großen Halle standen sagte er plötzlich:" Guck mal. Da drüben. Guck mal was da steht!" Da stand die 44er! Ich trat an die Lok heran und legte meine Hand auf den Kessel und sagte mit Tränen in den Augen zu ihr:" Hallo altes Mädchen. Ich hätte nie gedacht das ich dich noch einmal wiedersehen werde!" Die Mitarbeiter schauten mich erst komisch an bis ich Ihnen sagte das ich diese Lok früher gefahren habe. Dann waren alle gerührt und mit einem Mal prasselten etliche Fragen auf uns ein. Es war einfach unglaublich schön das noch einmal erleben zu können
Ein göttlicher Dampfsound bei der ersten Abfahrt! Müssten die beiden BR41 nicht den selben Takt haben, oder ist es so das eine Lok etwas mehr Schlupf wie die andere hat?
Naja, das kommt immer darauf an wie präzise man den Dampf reguliert. Grundsätzlich haben die beiden einen gleichen Takt. Da geht es eben um Gespür und Gehör. Denn die Maschinen sind ja in puncto Dampfregulierung nicht fest verbunden. Für Gespannfahrt braucht man wirklich viel Erfahrung. Vor allem wenn man wie hier "volles Ballett" fährt.

It was 400 hp, and could out sprint 14000 hp diesel tugs. With steam, nearly maximum torque is at zero rpms, it takes time for a diesel to get to the rpms with the max torque.
by whistling/course map and signals! all engines do have modern course maps/plan that show all stops/tempolimitis and other stuff!! and they must have a modern speed warning system on board which tells the next speed that will be allowed
The dirty smoke is produced when they shovel coal in the firebox, and the clean fog is condensed steam from the engine, wich is also used to pull the hot air out of the firebox to suck in clean air and blow up the fire.
Alfred024 Ich war selber Jahrelang Dampflokführer. Leider kann ich es aus gesundheitlichen nicht mehr. Ich fuhr meist eine 52er. Und wir fuhren auch öfter mit Doppelgespann mit Schiebelok. Das war jedesmal ein Spektakel. Man brauchte dazu auch Mannschaften die sich blind verstanden. Weil es wirklich auf Timing ankommt. Und auf Gefühl. Ansonsten kann das ganz böse nach hinten losgehen. Ich war seinerzeit Lokführer mit Leib und Seele. Und unsere Lotti hatte ihre ganz eigene Persönlichkeit. Doppelgespann fahren und dann volles Ballet. Das war so herrlich.... Ich habe immer nach jeder Schicht nach Ruß und Öl gestunken,aber das war mir so egal..und zu Hause bekam ich immer Schimpfe weil ich ja hätte auf der Arbeit Duschen sollen. Oh Mann waren das herrliche Zeiten als die Dampfrösser noch regelmäßig über die Strecken Donnerten mit Getöse und Dampf,Rauch und Feuer spuckten. Wenn ich so an die 01 denke,was war das toll sie über die Strecken jagen zu sehen. So elegant und schnell....

Ein göttlicher Dampfsound bei der ersten Abfahrt! Müssten die beiden BR41 nicht den selben Takt haben, oder ist es so das eine Lok etwas mehr Schlupf wie die andere hat?
Naja, das kommt immer darauf an wie präzise man den Dampf reguliert. Grundsätzlich haben die beiden einen gleichen Takt. Da geht es eben um Gespür und Gehör. Denn die Maschinen sind ja in puncto Dampfregulierung nicht fest verbunden. Für Gespannfahrt braucht man wirklich viel Erfahrung. Vor allem wenn man wie hier "volles Ballett" fährt.

The power of these trains is fantastic.
I found that it wasn't until 1974, that a diesel could out pull a steam engine.
The Edna G was a steam tug boat on Lake Superior, , I toured in 1980. It was 400 hp, and could out sprint 14000 hp diesel tugs.
With steam, nearly maximum torque is at zero rpms, it takes time for a diesel to get to the rpms with the max torque.

Question how do they tell each other what speed to go to and when they need to stop?
by whistling/course map and signals! all engines do have modern course maps/plan that show all stops/tempolimitis and other stuff!! and they must have a modern speed warning system on board which tells the next speed that will be allowed
And this Is all on a steam engine?

Nice coordinated work -- how do the engine drivers communicate? And why is the smoke sometimes dirty, sometimes much cleaner? But impressive machines!
The dirty smoke is produced when they shovel coal in the firebox, and the clean fog is condensed steam from the engine, wich is also used to pull the hot air out of the firebox to suck in clean air and blow up the fire.

Alfred024 Ich war selber Jahrelang Dampflokführer. Leider kann ich es aus gesundheitlichen nicht mehr. Ich fuhr meist eine 52er. Und wir fuhren auch öfter mit Doppelgespann mit Schiebelok. Das war jedesmal ein Spektakel. Man brauchte dazu auch Mannschaften die sich blind verstanden. Weil es wirklich auf Timing ankommt. Und auf Gefühl. Ansonsten kann das ganz böse nach hinten losgehen. Ich war seinerzeit Lokführer mit Leib und Seele. Und unsere Lotti hatte ihre ganz eigene Persönlichkeit. Doppelgespann fahren und dann volles Ballet. Das war so herrlich.... Ich habe immer nach jeder Schicht nach Ruß und Öl gestunken,aber das war mir so egal..und zu Hause bekam ich immer Schimpfe weil ich ja hätte auf der Arbeit Duschen sollen. Oh Mann waren das herrliche Zeiten als die Dampfrösser noch regelmäßig über die Strecken Donnerten mit Getöse und Dampf,Rauch und Feuer spuckten. Wenn ich so an die 01 denke,was war das toll sie über die Strecken jagen zu sehen. So elegant und schnell....
