- Parallelausfahrt aus dem Bahnhof Rottweil auf den Strecken in Richtung Spaichingen & Schwenningen. Film-Zug gezogen von 52 7596 (hohe Pfeife!), auf dem Mittelgleis (mit Pendelzug zum Depot) stand 50 2988. 01 519 & 52 7596 von den Eisenbahnfreunden Zollernbahn (EFZ), 50 2988 der Dampflokfreunde Schwarzwald-Baar.

Ich bin kein eingefleischter Eisenbahner. Aber jedes Mal, wenn ich diese riesigen und beeindruckend Maschienen in Aktion sehe, freu ich mich und habe mit Freudentränen zu kämpfen. Danke für diese Tollen Aufnahmen. Auch mein Sohn 3Jahre findet es stark. Danke. Den Jungs und Mädels, die diese wunderbare Technik am laufen halte, spre he ich meinen höchsten Respekt und Achtung aus.

Das mit den Tränen kommt bei mir auch immer und ich glaube ich weiß warum, weil für uns in dieser Zeit noch alles in Ordnung war! Es war die Zeit des Aufbaus und nicht die Zeit des Protestes. Man hat ganz viel geschaffen mit diesen Maschinen, ein Traum eben!
Was für Arbeit da immer hinter steckt,diese tollen Maschienen am Leben zu halten und so schön in Szene zu setzen.Meinen allerhöchstens Respekt an diese Hobby-Eisenbahner.Es sind herrliche Aufnahmen entstanden,für jung und alt.Vielen Dank!!!🤗

Eine Dampflok aus nächster Nähe arbeiten zu sehen ist immer wieder faszinierend und mir kullern die Tränen vor Freude ein ganz großes DANKESCHÖN dafür

Einfach toll die 01 wieder mal so in Fahrt zu sehen,habe sie noch sehr gut in Erinnerung aus den 50/60er Jahren.Auch heute schlägt mein Herz noch höher ,wenn ich sie mit den grossen Antriebs- Rädern sehe.

Es kommt ein Gefühl von Ruhe bei mir auf wenn ich eine Dampflok sehe. Erinnerungen werden wach, und ich würde zur jetzigen Zeit auch gerne mal,in der Öffentlichkeit, so Dampf ablassen.
Went to Dresden / Liepzig in 1994 for a week of steam rail tours, absolutely amazing ! The Germans

Diese Lok s sind Fantastisch!! Ich durfte am 25.9.1999 mit N.I.O.E. von Dortmund nach Münster und zurück im Staatsspeisewagen von Charles de Guille fahren. Da hatten wir die 01 519 vorne als Zuglok. Es war der Höhepunkt für mich als Eisenbahnfan.😇🥰💯👍👍👋👋

I just noticed that the wheels on the engine are all much lighter than they are on American Locos, nearly half the mass! I wonder why that is? Take off is also much faster than American Locos. No doubt the two things are related but I would be concerned about wear and fracture of the main drives, if there is a heating and stress situation, such as a steep hill or rough grade. Beautiful machine, none the less.
01 519 was an express train loco in origin. Not all german engines are build like this.
I'm no expert on this, but I think the US steam locomotives used disc wheels rather than spoked wheels most of the time. What's interesting, is that the class 01.5, like 01 519 you see here, was the only german steam locomotive where they actually experimented with "US-style" boxpok-wheels .
Wikipedia tells me they should be lighter than the traditional spoke wheels (even if it doesn't look that way), but they had trouble with production qualities in the GDR (and little experience, I guess). So they fitted them with spoke wheels again.
