I haven't rewatched for awhile but i think he comes back out and plays Mountain Time. This was 2009. This was his lifelong dream to play RAH. Clapton came out and played a song with Joe. Clapton was Joe's idol in the beginning when Joe started playing at 4yrs old. Most everything else you hear more blues.

He rareeelly uses the same guitar twice in concert. His work with Beth Hrt is legendary. I dare you to find a song by him thaaat doesnt blow your socks off. Ill plaay the Blues for you is a good one Another guitar god I left a reqwuest for is Roy Bucannon who wrotee the Messiah will come agin thats Gary Moore did. Ill be sending you more guitar players in the future if you like Nice deep review as alwaays thaanks a lot Bye the way Ive seen him 4 times and every time and song was a treat. You never know what he will play as he allso likes to do tributes to other guitarists like Jimmy Page in the one we jusr saw. He is mainly however a Blues man

I remember seeing a media piece about him back in the 1990’s when he was in middle school. He started guitar at the age of 4 or 5 after watching his father’s Cream concert videos. He decided he wanted to play like Clapton. When this piece was done he was opening for BB King. I lost track of him and found him again 10 or 12 yrs ago. He’s never won a Grammy because he doesn’t play the music industry’s game. You should check out Joe with Beth Hart Live- “I’ll Take Care of You “ and “I’d Rather Go Blind”. Not only will you love his performances, you will be blown away by her voice. They’re both incredible. Joe also has an acoustic album “Live at the Vienna Opera House”. It’s one of my favorites.

Joe is an amazing performer. I have seen him in concert 4 times, the most recent just last month. He keeps getting better! I think he is the best living blues guitarist performing today. If you can, definitely go see him. And he always has some of the world's best musicians on stage with him. In this video, the drummer in the black beret is Anton Fig, who is best known for his 20+ years with Paul Shaffer's band on David Letterman's Late Show. I believe the bassist in this performance is the late Michael Rhodes , "the most recorded bassist in Nashville history". If you see Joe in February, you will also most likely see the amazing Reese Wynans on keyboard. Reese is a hall of fame inductee for his work with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble. Just seeing Reese play is worth the price of admission. The man is a beast on the keys!

    • @jlocke78759
      @jlocke78759 9 місяців тому

The bass player in this performance is Carmine Rojas. He played with Joe before Michael Rhodes became a staple. You'll see Carmine on the Joe and Beth Live from Amsterdam show as well. They both look somewhat similar, but Carmine has a little more meat on him. The first time I saw Michael with Joe, I thought Carmine had been sick and lost a lot of weight!

MMBxMOB: Joe plays much purer blues on many tunes - Midnight Blues, Blues Delux, & others. He plays phenomenal bluesy solos with Beth Hart (I'd Rather Go Blind) as well as more rock such as on this tune & Nasty Gal (Mahalia Barnes vocal) and live performances with Paul Rogers & Government Mule. He's incredibly versatile, but especially good at blues - all of which is why I also think Joe is the greatest living guitarist - but like you said, you need to hear a lot more of him to know what I'm talking about. You might start with Blues Delux Live from Royal Albert Hall.

Joe was better than his garage band father at age 6, turned pro at 9 years old, and opened 20 shows for BB King at the age of 12. (So, Joe was so good that a legend was happy to share the stage with a middle school kid). Joe worked hard on his singing, but when he really wants someone to do vocals, he looks to BETH fucking HART. They collaborated for 3 albums of blues & soul covers in 2011, 2013, and 2018. They are both fantastic live performers and have very deep discographies, but together they are something special. See separate comment for reaction suggestions.

He started playing guitar 🎸 since he was 4, at 9 he was playing music professionally with people 20 years older than him. He is from about 1/2 hour from me. Seen him grow up playing. His keyboardist Resse Wynans was SRV'S keyboardist. RIP Michael Rhodes bass player. It has been reported that Jimi said that about every guitar player he was asked about, example. Johnny Winters, Terry Kath, Billy Gibson Joe has a collection of 400 guitars and amps. The names of groups that used double drums 🥁 is way to long to list.A Joe Bonamassa concert tour performance can last up to three hours. As a guitar player, been following him since his early days. He was a young phenom with lots of technique, which didn't translate to much feeling when playing, which is normal. Speed does not equal feeling. As he has aged, little by little, some feeling is starting to appear. Seen him many times, each time is getting better, he is finally maturing as a blues player, you can finally sense some feeling. His technique has always been amazing, but he finally becoming a fully rounded blues guy we were hoping for.

He sure uses all those guitars in his show. I've seen him live and he is perfection, and has a guitar for every song he does because they all have a very slight difference in sound. Jump into this rabbit hole and you'll see why he is considered one of the best guitar players ever, just look up B B King on what he thought of Joe.

Joe Bonamassa has all of his live concerts available for free on his UA-cam channel. His concerts are balls to the walls, and there's only brief lulls between songs as Joe trades out guitars. I've seen him twice and have tickets to see him again.

😮 It's the subtle things you don't expect that makes this awesome... A lot of things in this you've heard before. It's just a little twist and turns he does different than most guitarists

If you're impressed with guitar mod control, Joe is good, but Gilmore is best at making a guitar speak. Every Joe concert I've seen has been phenomenal. The first show I saw with Joe was a meet and greet that I had won tickets for. He was cordial and engaging before the show. He came out on stage by himself, and 13 guitars. He played every guitar behind him before taking a break and coming out with the full band for another 90 minutes.

I don't know if there's a musical reason to use two drummers playing the same thing, but it sure looks cool. The drummer with the beret is Anton Fig, and the younger looking one is Bogie Bowles. The bass player is Carmine Rojas and the keyboard player is Rick Melick. This performance is from May of 2009. Yes, this is a cover of a ZZ Top song, with a slide into "communication breakdown" by Led Zeppelin.

I think Michael Rhodes personally was his best bass player in my opinion.

JB is awesome, and this is Great song, but this song was originally played by Billy Gibbon's of the band ZZ Top! This is a great song, and this is my opinion, but, his Blue's are much better! Like "I'll play the blues for you", "Sloe Gin", " Midnight Blues", "I'd rather go blind", "I'll take care of you" by Beth Hart and Joe, and "Goin Down"! Please go down this rabbit hole, you won't regret it! Blue's is his thing!

You have to check out (if you haven't already), Peted Greene (from original Fleetwood Mac!) Gary Moore "Parisienne Walkways"(Live) Also Check out the Young (Great) Taj Farrant! Hes touring America right now for the second time at just 14! And will BLOW YOUR MIND! HE played (Live) 4 YEARS AGO, with Carlos Santana and Orianthi when he was just 10 years old! Hes now ONLY 14 BUT plays SRV, Hendrix and Gary Moore and Many of the Great Blues guys tunes, aswell as, if not BETTER, than the originals!
...Hes going to be Known as (and then remembered as) THE GREATEST of all Time imo if he keeps playing! He loves the BLUES and Metal, Rock AC/DC etc
    You Gotta check him out!
ALSO if you havent checked out Orianthi, shes one of the most accomplished guitarists of all time! Santana said shes one of the greatest when she was just 18 about 20 years ago after she was discovered in Australia by the Great Joe Satriani and the great Steve Vai! BOTH GUITAR GODS from the 80s!
Anyhow good review! would suggest check out Joe Bonamassa Keeping the Blues Alive cruise performances, especially the ones where he performs with other guitarists guitar duels eitb ERIC GALES and Kingfish etc.
Cheers from London Merry Christmas 😎🎸🎄🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧
