      Thank you so much for letting me know. I'm looking it up on their official website right now. Seems like they're changed their ingredient list completely. This is not what is printed on my bottle. From what i can see they've added a silicone (dimethiconol) and removed the sulphate. How upsetting of us cg consumers!

    I was just about to order a clarifying shampoo, now I know which one to!
    Edit : thoughts on the Fix My Curls Cleansing shampoo? (blue tube variant, suggested to use 2-3 times a week by the brand)

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 роки тому +1

      So fix my curls: initially i bought a couple of products from them.
      I had fragrance issues as they triggered my migraines.
      Then the brand reduced the fragrance. I repurchased the products only to find that they too trigger my migraines. I reached out to the brand telling them about my troubles. They assured me that they would build a routine for me that wouldn't give me migraines. Waiting on that.
      So about the shampoo, haven't tried it. Doubt I'll buy anything from them unless i know for certain that it won't upset me fragrance wise.
      There's no point. My migraines are debilitating.

    Hi Michelle, in this video you directly started with the clarifying shampoo. However, in the other video where you showed the chelating process you 1st washed it with the CG friendly shampoo. Does it mean one needs to first wash and condition while doing the chelating process and not when doing the clarifying process ?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 роки тому

      When you're chelating, you're using a shampoo that does not contain a sulphate. They're very mild in nature. I demonstrated 3 techniques in the video:
      1. Chelate with shampoo
      2. Chelate with acv in spray bottle
      3. Chelate with acv using the bowl method.
      Using a shampoo is necessary in this case (whether it's an acv shampoo or otherwise)
      When you're clarifying you're not using a cg friendly shampoo. You're using a shampoo that contains a sulphate. One wash is fine. If you feel like you need 2 washes, you can do that too. Totally depends on you and how cleansing the shampoo your using is. When we clarify, the intention is to strip your hair of all the buildup (in order to end up with a clean slate). In this case, you have to use your discretion. If one wash does it for you, totally fine. If you need two washes, that's totally fine too. Touch your hair and check to see how it feeling. It will become instinctual with time.

      I tried that for a while last year after i received some questions on it. After some experimentation this is what I found. First month's I was totally okay with it. Over time my hair started feeling like jute. Very dry and very weak.
      Keep in mind that i have high porosity hair. My hair is extremely dry to begin with and so sulphate free shampoos are perfect for my hair.
      Maybe you could try it out and see what happens? If your hair is not super dry maybe you could get away with it. Not sure though.

      I get it. I totally get it. It's going to feel weird. In the beginning it's very upsetting. When I started CGM it was the only issue I had with the method. The no combing bit and the no running your finger through your hair bit. I promise you will get used to it.
      As for transitions, i have a very real and honest playlist that you must watch. Apart from that the only tip i can give you is to shift the focal point of your look. If your hair looks frizzy, use a serum to tane the frizz and then do a hairstyle that works.
      A great focal point would be a huge now, a cute accessory, some awesome eye makeup, huge earrings, anything to shift the focus from your hair.

      @@MichelleManuel thank u Michelle. I was looking for the fab India shampoo. But it seems they have changed the packaging or discontinued the shampoo.

      I did walk into body shop and enquire about your products. I remember ages ago they had a cg friendly shampoo, conditioner and gel. They said they discontinued their silicone free range because of low demand. Super sad. Their gel was my fav at one point in time. :(
