    Hi Michelle! Great video! Just one small doubt. These oils won't weigh down our hair right? Cause most of the serums available in market are meant for straightened hair to give that sleek look. I've been using biolage serum for many years. Since i started my CGM, when i use that serum to get some shine it just weighs down my hair. And also i have low density hair in general 😊

    @Michelle I've gone through almost all videos of yours for beginners and will have my fist CG wash tomorrow. Trust me I've made notes 🙈. Excited and nervous cz I have absolutely no idea what to expect. I have a question though, I ordered the Blue Enliven gel from your storefront but now I'm wondering if I should just try with normal aloe vera gel or use the blue gel in my first wash. I think my hair are low to medium porosity. Could you please help here?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 роки тому +2

      That's amazing! ❤️❤️
      Ok so here's the deal. The enliven gel has alcohol. The ONLY reason I use the enliven gel is because I cannot do without it. No other gel allows me to retain my definition for no long. I wash my hair once a week and so I need to preserve my curls and make sure the effort I put into a washday is not wasted.
      Which is better? Obviously an aloe vera gel is better than using something with alcohol.
      So my advice is this, try the aloe gel and only if you are not happy with the hold and feel like you need more, use the enliven gel. If you're washing your hair once every few days it shouldn't be a problem. Only if your hair needs extra hold and you don't mind the alcohol will you be ok with the enliven gel.
      If you want more clarification, I spoke about all the positives and negatives in my enliven vs curl up gel video.
      Also remember my first wash looked horrendous. It only gets better with time. So please jump in head long! It's going to be a journey. Sending you lots of encouragement!! ❤️

      2. Olive oil from the kitchen (tread with caution, might be slightly on the heavier side)

      Styling cream + oil + gel

      Get youself light leave in

      I've used flaxseed gel. It doesn't give me too much hold. It's good for people following cg strictly.
      Not my person fav.
      The flakes, you need to make sure there's no clumping or pilling while application. Diluting it in water and emulsifiying really helps. Application on super wet hair also helps with the flakes. Combing through does too

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 роки тому

      It's not necessary to use a leave in and a serum together on washday. It might just be too heavy for the hair.
      If there is an urgent need for extra moisturization then you could consider using a leave in conditioner, then a serum and then a gel/mousse.
      I have a playlist on cg products where I've detailed each product categories and how to choose amongst them. It might be helpful to check those videos out.

      With serums not at all. You shouldnt be losing hair. If you're doing a full refresh and attempting to detangle then yes. You'll have hairfall. Whatever's stuck in the clump and already fallen will come out.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 роки тому

      The only reason I'm able to make my curls last is because of a hard hold gel. You'll notice that I use the enliven gel. It has alcohol in it. Alcohol is a big no no if you're following cgm. They're very drying in nature. But the only reason I've stuck to my guns on this one is because I overcompensate on wash days. I dc every single time. I put in the work and make sure to curl train every single time. I use moisture heavy products and then once Im done, I don't have to do anything else during the week. I'm able to prolong my wash day without too much effort.

      Did you apply the oil to your scalp any chance?
      If you used a teeny tiny bit on the lengths only it shouldn't have caused this issue.
      Either way, if you have a dry scalp there's a very good chance you have flaking because it's winter and it's cold. I would suggest using a pre poo treatment before washing your hair and at the dc stage using a mask that is formulated for the scalp.
