I tried log with coconut oil but that didn't go well, my hair looked greasy and oily probably because it didn't suit my hair type or the amount was wrong. I sandwiched argan oil and that went just fine. My hair looked okay till day 4. I was happy with it because I anyway wash my hair on day 4. I haven't experimented that much with the method. Hi Michelle,I think I have 3c,4a hair and very tight curls,something I rarely see in indian hair videos. I had been chemically straightening for about 22 years,but went for a big chop during lockdown. My hair in the front is severely damaged due to colouring as well to cover greys.Even as a child my hair was extremely dry and hair at the nape can be described as maggi noodles😀.I have been trying various products, indian and otherwise. Even leave in,curl cream and gel,but thoroughly confused .My regime now cantu leave in,shea moisture smoothie and curl up gel,i have ordered for the oils as you suggested. Will try .Hair is still poofy on the second day inspite of sleeping with a bonnet.In kerala so humidity is high.Any suggestions?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel 3 роки тому +1

      I might not be the best person to ask about 3c-4a curls. I could however offer some suggestions I've seen other creators with similar hair adopt in their routine.
      Try ultimate hydration.
      Try coating your hair with aloe during the week and see what happens.
      Heat during dc will be helpful.
      Try protective hairstyles during the week.
      You'd rather go for the Shea moisture line that suits tighter coils.
      3c hair would benefit from finger coils. So I would suggest putting in some extra time during styling and finger coiling your hair.
      Get yourself a Denman brush and define the under sections using the brush. For the face framing sections finger coil to define.
      For humidity, using lots of gel will be a good idea.

    @michelle ..... couldn't resist myself but I tried this today after my 1st n 2nd cg flops and after a lot of information collection throught u on products n hair ...
    I HV TO ADMIT THIS .....Gosh....I m a curly girl not wavy 🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.....it felt so wonderful .... realised how trial n error on product quantity works ....today I felt what u mean by seaweed kind of quantity ......there is a long n hard way to go but this feels much better than a cysteine treatment 🙈🙈
    Ok coming back to my curious nature .
    .tell me if after leav-in or gel or after both ...if I tie my hair in lots of braids similar to what you do while dc or probably put curl clips on will it help me achieve better results ...🤔🤔 My hair still look unkempt unlike ur neat n clean frizz free hair
    Secondly I m into classical dance I need to pinup my hair n at times pleat them in braids ...is it even possible with cgm or m I gonna spoil my curl this way ... otherwise also I need to look presentable in Sessions can't go with pineapple or open hair always ...so I was thinking of braids and putting them in bun similar to what u do in dc
    Is it feasible ...will it help if yes what's the best time to braid ...post gel or pre gel n thn gel the braids🤔🤔
    As usual lots of love n thanks for being there n replying ❤️❤️😘😘

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel 3 роки тому

      Hey! You absolutely can do a twist up and wait till it dries. It's a legit technique done by many.
      You apply leave-in + gel on damp hair. No need for it to be super wet. Simply Dutch braid or do a twist up.
      You can even do a three strand twist up. You'll find many videos on youtube. Your true curls won't come out but it's better than nothing. Secondly this is called protective styling.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel 3 роки тому

      You won't spoil your curls by tieing your hair up. True cg is very difficult to follow. Feel free to modify and tie your hair up when you feel like it. Your curls won't go away.

    I think your hair clumps bc it’s type 3. Type 2 waves are very fragile & fall apart so easy.
    I’m really struggling bc I want to wet brush product through but deal w the stringy waves.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel 3 роки тому +1

      I started at a 2a and as time has passed by hair had changed significantly. The areas where I have less damage has become tight and coily. With the right products I am able to see some 3b ringlets as well.
      I think my hair has a mix of different patterns. 2a, 2b 2c 3a and even 3b.

    • @zeera4377
      @zeera4377 3 роки тому

      My hair is also definitely a mix. I get some really nice ringlets in parts, some hair doesn’t curl in the middle but on top and bottom, and some loses it’s wave/curl almost immediately right now. I’m trying now to make some rice ‘gel’ mask for my hair, because I think it might be doing this because it lacks protein. I’ve been doing CGM type stuff now for some months, and it’s slowly getting better. I’m seeing more definition, and also getting more comfortable with the method. I’m not a patient person, but I really want my hair to be more like Michelle’s or whatever it will end up doing :) So maybe try looking into if your hair needs more moisture or more proteine. I can tell mine needs protein because I can take a hair and stretch it almost to double length without it breaking….

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel 10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, certain ingredients may cause irritation.
      For example fragrance, aloe for some people, certain oils like rosemary, eucalyptus etc (essential oils) can cause irritation.
      Certain oils in products can also break you out. I broke out very badly with the old earth rhythm hair masks.
      Certain ingredients can also be considered as potential irritants.
      Here's a list of common irritants:
      Fragrance, cocamidopropyl betaine, methylchloroisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone, formaldehyde releasers, propylene glycol, vitamin E, parabens, benzophenones, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, and methyldibromoglutaronitrile/phenoxyethanol

    I just came across your channel. You have got a solution for all my hair issues, so thank you.
    I have a product that my curly hair loves, murumuru conditioner bar by Earth Rhythm.
    They give discounts during spl occasion sales, so do check them out.
    Also love their kui kui nut, hibiscus hair butter.
