Wasn't worried that they would be too bright as I use KEF LS50 in my system which a lot of people say are too bright but I'm ok with them. Just received them and trying them now. They are certainly bright but astonishingly detailed. The nice thing is that i can listen at low volume and still hear everything so clearly. Astonishing detail, beautifully built with the OFC Silver Plated Detachable MMCX cable. What value! Thanks for the review.
Great review, Philip Bailey is actually also one of the lead singers of Earth wind and fire, he had a famous operatic soul falsetto, check "Fantasy" by Earth, wind and fire and "Reasons".

It makes sense he’d go for the T2 Pros. The older we get, the less we hear and the T2 Pros have higher high end and that makes sense that the P1 low end couldn’t really be picked up. The same reason the older crowd LOVE Grados.
Per Wikipedia: "Philip James Bailey (born May 8, 1951) is an American R&B, soul, gospel and funk singer, songwriter and percussionist best known as an early member, and one of the two lead singers (along with group founder Maurice White) of the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Noted for his four-octave vocal range and distinctive falsetto register, Bailey has won seven Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame as a member of Earth, Wind & Fire. Bailey was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his work with the band."
Yes I’m happy to hear you review these! They are dual driver w/10mm woofer and 6mm tweeter per housing. They are 16 ohm with 102db/mw sensitivity. Not too bad at all for $60!! I’d love to hear more reviews on gear like this. It seems as though headphones just keep getting more and more expensive! Earphones are a great way to experiment and experience different signatures without killing your wallet...too much. 👍🏻
For those not so into R&B, Philip Bailey is best known as the lead singer of Earth, Wind & Fire. I have not listened to any of his more recent solo stuff, but this video has definitely piqued my interest.
I recently bought the Tin T2 Pros based on Steve's recommendation. Mids are great, bass is tight and responsive but really lacking punchy sub-bass. They are very revealing although extremely sibilant. I have moderate hearing loss in both ears and the treble is too harsh for me, I can't imagine how bad they must be for people with normal hearing ranges. My recommendation would be to not get the Pros, save some money and stick with the standard T2s then upgrade to the Pros if you're craving extra bright highs. For those who already have the Pros, one great tip I can give you to dramatically improve the bass, give you a fuller sound and reduce the harshness of the treble a bit is to use the blue foam tips and push them into your ears deep enough to create a perfect seal. I just wish TIN would have provided a couple different sized foam tips because they seem to be much better suited acoustically for the audio profile of the Pros.
I just got my T2 Pros today from Amazon.....using them w/my iPhone SE. The brightness surprised me, but I changed out the blue foam ear tips for the smallest silicone ear tips. I can now get them farther into the ear canal, thus increasing the bass and balancing out the high end. Amazingly transparent sound in such small package. Recommended for the $$$...
RoaroftheTiger I grabbed a pair of silver coated copper set from Amazon. Cap depends on the awg used. If a company used 21awg, then yeah, you're gonna see a rise in cap that may matter. I found one that used something like 30awg or smaller. Might have been 32awg. 5N copper.
I wanted my first pair just to try with my RME ADI2 DAC. Got the T2 for $49, great deal, sound fantastic through the IEM jack, I swear I can feel the bass in my spine. But my ears just aren't built for in ear. If I don't move a muscle they'll stay in my ear, sorta. My buddy doesn't like them because of the isolation, says he's constantly removing one to hear what he's missing, while I like the isolation and constantly get distracted by sounds (real or imagined) wearing open back headphones. As always YMMV, glad I didn't spend a bundle on them. I convinced a different friend to get the T2 from Massdrop for $32, he had me order them for him. He calls me not 15 minutes after picking them up and says he broke the cable. I don't know how they solder those things, it went up in smoke when I went near it with a hot iron. So much for a good deal. Since he tasked me with getting him a replacement, I naturally took the opportunity to sell him my cable and buy an upgrade.
Agreed. I noticed that the P1 is very tip and amp pairing dependent. On some tips (acoustune) bass is lacking substantially. But on spinfits and sony tips, the bass comes out. I'd even say they have more bass than the t2, t2pro, and t3. >Running mine off of an iFi iDSD with the Sony tips.
For me the p1 sounds way better with the foam tips. They are just too hot in the treble with silicones. I use comply t500 and they sound very nice. The bass is just the right amount and the mids sound better because its more in line with the treble.
Like a few others here, I got my T2's from Drop. I was going to get the Pro's but changed my mind after reading a few reviews, and all I can say is wow! These are simply the best sounding IEM's I've ever owned, and by a country mile. I mostly listen to EDM and the sound is so open and clear which has allowed me to hear details that I couldn't previously hear and the bass is tight, controlled with plenty of it for my ears. A good album to test these with is Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds- epic! I have to differ with Steve on one point though, the blue tips that come as standard do a great job with noise isolation- I commute daily by train and with them in I really struggle to hear announcements over the train's PA. I cant recommend them highly enough. Just buy a pair and hear for yourself.
I tried these T2 Pro, and their higher end T3 Pro, and you are right- these lower end ($60 instead of $70) T2 Pro’s are my favorites under other than some custom IEM I have for the studio, which cost 30X more than these, but are not necessarily even twice as good, let alone 30X.
Tin T2 is my favourite IEM. Period. I have stuff that costs like $500 and Tin T2 is STILL my favourite IEM. It is tuned *perfectly*. Absolutely sublime. It's not a 10/10 IEM it breaks the scale, goes flying out the end and lands on the far side of the moon. I recommend these more than I recommend oxygen and water. A must have.
I will have to give them another listen. I bought a pair of these a couple of months ago and really wasn't impressed. They didn't sound any better than the other budget IE headphones I have, which was disappointing because you are not the only one to give them rave reviews. However, sounds like I should dust them off and give them another chance. Cheers!
I used to have the tin t2 Pro but after a while I found the heights to strong and it really bothered me. Switched to the KZ Zs10 Pro recently. They are great so far.
James M It is probably due to the focus on mid-range and high frequencies, and many many people consider a strong base to be a sign of quality. But that's exactly what you are not getting from these headphones - a heavy base.
Hey Steve, it's refreshing that u're reviewing chi-fi products (dacs from Denafrips and now Tin Hifi) b'cus I believe there r gems to be discovered. Bought their flagship P1 due to rave reviews and I was really disappointed with their lack of bass. Perhaps we have similar 'ears' and I'll certainly follow your future recommendations. Wd be great if you help discover a Fiio FH7 equivalent IEM at a fraction of the cost. Does using a Knowles driver ensure a good sounding IEM?
Fam... Earth Wind and Fire. Easy Lover song with Phil Collins, 6 or 7 grammys plus all of that other award stuff. Philip Bailey is the greatest vocalist percussionist that I know. Crazy talent. Glad you're letting people know about him. ✊🏾✌🏾
Slightly concerned you don’t really know who Philip Bailey is 🙂. From Earth Wind and Fire, and then very famous for Easy Lover with Phil Collins in the 80s.

Steve, Philip Bailey was one of the lead singers of Earth, Wind and Fire before going solo.
The T2 are the most amazing budget iems I haver tried, wish I could try this pro.
They're in my ears now! - looking forward to trying the planar variant soon
Yeah I buy foam tips on amazon, silicone just feels gross and lets too much sound in, I do foam on all my in ears it's the stuff!!!
Nice t-shirt :D there were some books from Kafaka I had to read to pass my finals from czech literature. That was some good stuff.
Awesome videos vast knowledge always enjoy subscribed
I tried these T2 Pro, and their higher end T3 Pro, and you are right- these lower end ($60 instead of $70) T2 Pro’s are my favorites under other than some custom IEM I have for the studio, which cost 30X more than these, but are not necessarily even twice as good, let alone 30X.
Andrew Denis Not everyone dare to say this, certainly not reviewers, otherwise the expensive brands don’t send any review samples anymore 😁
You look like the guy who played John Lennon in the movie Yesterday
You legitimately look like John Lennon
He's missing a few holes though.
Gabriel Thompson Not even.
You look like the Jonh Lennon version of the movie "Yesterday". It's a compliment obviously.
Nice to see hifi spread to people
Reminds me a lot of mobile tech reviews. Great video man
I need to order one. I hope my Sense are nearly at your s!
When talking about a reduction in a video, it’s nice to have it in the shot for us to look at the entire time.
Just ordered these on amazon UK for £55 delivered next day. After watching this review. At that price I couldn't resist giving them a try.
Thanks for the Phillip Bailey recommendation, listening on T3s
I'm sold. I've never seen your videos before, and this is the first time I've ever seen your video. And now I'm buying one. Idk why.. lol
Then you might not have much money left if you keep watching this guy's videos!!
Hey I really like your glasses and I need new prescription glasses where can I look for them?
Theyre for good price on aliexpress now so hit em up
This dudes voice is so soft and sweet I love it
I thought I’d never buy any wired earphone, but you made me wanna buy this one.
I will have to give them another listen. I bought a pair of these a couple of months ago and really wasn't impressed. They didn't sound any better than the other budget IE headphones I have, which was disappointing because you are not the only one to give them rave reviews. However, sounds like I should dust them off and give them another chance. Cheers!
Phillip Bailey, formerly of Earth Wind & Fire. The unmistakable high voice on so many of their hits, “Devotion” among them. Great artist.
Don't know how the UA-cam algorithm works but this makes me really want to try out the headphone
Thanks for the Review! You should try the BLON BL-03, they cost about 25 - 35$ and sounds more than great! ^^
I’m interested. Are there cheap headphones that’s neutral? Something I can use as a monitor?
Superlux HD669
I used to have the tin t2 Pro but after a while I found the heights to strong and it really bothered me. Switched to the KZ Zs10 Pro recently. They are great so far.
How much does T2 Pro compare to T3 Premium?
I have the tin T2s, but the foam ear tips started to deteriorate after a few weeks :( still really good though!
I wonder why the amazon reviews aren’t up to par with this guy’s.. I think I’ll trust him
James M It is probably due to the focus on mid-range and high frequencies, and many many people consider a strong base to be a sign of quality. But that's exactly what you are not getting from these headphones - a heavy base.
I just wanna know how I got here.

I gotta say that earphones from China are really insane there days. I own a few pairs from 20 to 100 dollars. I like them all. 😁
If you think the T2 Pros are good Steve, you should listen to the Tin 3's. I have a pair and they sound excellent. Not too bright and not too bassy.
Just got mine from China Yesterday , £34.50 from Aliexpress, and all I can say is sounds bloody good with a bit of classical music, no complaints ,
Steve: So you dont know that Phillip Bailey is the lead singer of Earth Wind and Fire??? Awesome!!!! At least you recognized his talent.
Was just thinking similar. 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Fam... Earth Wind and Fire. Easy Lover song with Phil Collins, 6 or 7 grammys plus all of that other award stuff. Philip Bailey is the greatest vocalist percussionist that I know. Crazy talent. Glad you're letting people know about him. ✊🏾✌🏾
I hear the P1 through EarStudio ES100 with
balanced 2 x Voltage and bass EQ‘ed.
Love them.
I use the es100 with ldac and 2x voltage and the bass eq with my shure se846. Sounds soo good. I need to get some p1s
Slightly concerned you don’t really know who Philip Bailey is 🙂. From Earth Wind and Fire, and then very famous for Easy Lover with Phil Collins in the 80s.
So you are concerned he doesn't know a one hit wonder from the 80's? Not even a good hit in my opinion more of a miss ; )
we try to forget phil colins 😂
You should review the BGVP DM7. You’ll be even more blown away.
$60 vs $300 makes it a pointless comparison
If the treble is bothering you I'd imagine that's pretty easy to fix with an eq app
youd need a good 10-20 band eq. the treble spikes are in a tiny frequency range usually. porable media players usually have 5 bands
Love the review. Especially the budget systems and gear. Under $1000 systems that perform. Thank you.
Have you listened to the KZ ZS10 Pro?
If you end up getting please make a video !
Can you do a comparison between the two? 🙏
They suck LMAO
That Phillip Bailey slapppps
I’d like to know your opinion on the CCA 12. It was a toss up between the tins and the CCA. I went with the CCA due to a flatter response for music production.
