You have really great right hand technique. Very much like Dennis Sandole.....a teacher of Martino...( he also taught Coltrane)..probably more a mentor for Martino. I heard Pat say he never took on his technique. You have a minimum of movement and consistent pick depth. Wonderful cross picking.
Pretty much everything a person needs to be a great player is in this song and your video.

@@KavenGirouard I've never seen his right hand technique listed online but I studied with one of his students.... He pretty much taught me the Sandole way.
Straight wrist, middle and ring fingers glide over pick guard so the pick enters the string consistently. All up and down movement for alternating picking. Limit all other movement. Play with the tip of the pick...as little as possible.....relaxed...use volume control. Play from the elbow.....don't anchor the wrist on the guitar. Grip the pick like you are doing. Looks like everything you're doing. You're not horsing the strings.
Do you anchor your pinky against the side of the thin E string when you play the low E?
I like your tone so much better then Pat's.....his guitars are so dark....I don't know why he does that..it makes it hard to hear the individual notes sometimes.
@@cugir321 That's very interesting!! I do anchor my pinky against the guitar, I tried not to, when taking lessons, but it was so natural for me to anchor. About Pat's tone, especially on this track, it's really dark indeed!! The whole recording, I had to EQ the track a bit to make it clearer when transcribing! But his tone is usually great! Thanks for your comments!! ;)
@@KavenGirouard To me it's not really a solid anchor...it's a sliding anchor..I keep it against the pick guard to keep my pick entering the string at the same depth all the time. It seems to make all the difference when I alternate and cross pick, limiting all movement to up and down only. Pat amazes me.....he anchors his wrist.....and there is a lot of movement in his hand. Whatever works! I can't play that way.
@@cugir321 Haha! I can't play as fast as he does either... it clearly works for him! Same as you, a sliding anchor would be the best way to describe it!

Here's a suggestion.....bring the tablature up a little higher.
It's difficult to read some of the tab sometimes because the red video play line runs through it.
It's a pain when you're going back and forth between the measures trying to memorize it. Sometimes the red line runs through the numbers.
We thank you for the time you took to do this! You must be a great transcriptionist and sight reader.
You got it on.....others have done this tune and they didn't get all the parts correct.
Noted! That's why I'm also proposing a .pdf document so it's easier to work on the solo, and save it for later use! The link is in the description box!

Are you slightly anchoring your wrist on the bridge/tailpiece?
Depending on the lines, it can happen, but over all I'm mostly anchoring with my little finger!

@@KavenGirouard Ton phrasé est magnifique, il me manque un peu de souplesse main droite pour avoir un si beau phrasé a ce tempo c'est encore compliqué. On est d'accord que le glissé pour arrivé sur le ré mineur à 1min10 est juste orgasmique, j'ai joué cette phrase des centaines de fois et je m'en remet toujours pas! Ce solo est trop agréable à jouer
