Sorry to hear that Danyella. What a super honest look at the trials and tribulations of Ferrari ownership, but the joy of it shows through in your enthusiasm and passion, captivating viewing. Stay positive, don't let these set backs get you down, you're doing great work. Looking forward to the next instalment!!
I was covering my eyes with both hands when you revealed the damage to the car, damn, that is exasperating !! Ian Tyrrell could sort out the bodywork I"m sure, as could MotoTechnique in Surrey, once you pull those panels off it usually reveals other things that need to be addressed in the vicinity. As for the exhaust, it seems like you are almost back to where you started with a single pipe, a Tubi twin pipe would I think provide what you are looking for but at a price, bout 1800 quid I think....and the wing badges..I like them, they look good on a 308.
So sorry for the damage, very painful. Love the Ferrari stickers and the number plate and a definite improvement without the lights. It looks amazing, well done.
Yeah it's weird. When I put a new muffler on my car it just sounded the exact same as the old rotted one, but 300 km later it actually sounds much better now.
I’ve come to the conclusion that no exhaust is going to make this sound any better. It’s harsh and not something you would expect from such a marque, but after three exhaust systems and messing with the induction - it still just sounds like a chavved four pot
@@corneilcorneil With heat the materials of the exhaust expand. With time the part will sound diffrent as it saddles in. Its just a thing that happens. My Abarth 124 sounds diffrent too when I start it up at a cold morning from when I drive it for a while.
Gutted for you mate. I feel your pain. Glad your adverts have changed , it was putting me off watching. Can't believe you don't have more subscribers as the videos are always entertaining, hope you hit 30k soon.
My heart goes out to you on the jack Failure, but so glad you weren't under the car when it slipped! It's just a panel, and a good body shop can sort it for you. Glad you removed the front spot lights (we call them "Fog lights" on this side of the pond), and I personally like the Fenders Stickers (although I think I will add the thicker "Emblem" style to mine in due time). Anxiously awaiting when you tackle the bushings, as I know I will be doing that to mine sometime soon also. Glad to hear you are sorting things out one by one! You're an inspiration!
I feel gutted for you Jack, could see the genuine sinking feeling on your face but applaud your honesty, I see you were more upbeat the next day. I recently, whilst lowering the car of axel stands had one to near the car and put it into the sill, so annoying to make a stupid yet simple mistake and your not the only one out there to do it. Hopefully you’ll get the damage sorted soon, and keep the videos coming please.
That is such a shame - I had a jack slip on my car once too with similar results so can appreciate your pain. Agree with the removal of the spots but I'm not a fan of the stickers. Keep up the good work!
Oh man, gutted for you. So frustrating when this sort of stuff happens. Hope you get it all sorted soon. Re the lights, I liked the look of them but it does look much cleaner now. Keep up the good work.
I feel so sorry for you. It takes courage and openness to share what must have been a gut wrenching moment. I once had a similar experience with my car sliding off a scissor jack and pinning me against my garage wall. I fortunately managed to force it back upright and take a moment to lick my wounds before I assessed the damage. Good progress with the car in general though, we’ll done mate!
Jack you are forever an optimist, hat's off to you Sir! Being a lifelong pessimist your video's are helping improve my outlook on life's challenges.. Thank you for every one of your video's.
Could almost feel your pain. Please try not to give yourself too much of a hard time, stuff happens in life and you still have a beautiful car! Not doubt you'll get it sorted to perfection and can 'nod' to yourself in satisfaction & contentment once more. Good luck with it all friend.
Love the stickers. Quite liked the spot lights also but that is a matter of personal preference. So sorry about that disaster! Got my 928 home Friday for the firsts time and it overheated and blew all the water out. Man old cars are fun. Looking forward to you next installment!
Could see the disapointment in your face after that damage! As you said, its only panel damage and nothing money can't fix! All the best getting it fixed!!
We could see the distress that incident caused written in your face, must have been a real shock buddy but you seem to have come to terms with it admirably. One step back for the bodywork but a step forward for the car as a whole, you are making good progress - always look forward to watching the next episode of getting this beautiful car back to its best. For what it’s worth I prefer its looks without spots (unless they’re needed why bother) & I like the prancing horse stickers - wear the badge with pride!
I feel your pain over the slipped jack and body work damage, but at least you weren't injured when it happened. I'm a Jag enthusiast and have written on some of the Jaguar forums for some 18 years. I've known two fellow listers die, yes dead, in accidents where cars they were working on dropped on them. One widow bravely wrote to the entire forum in the hope that her letter would serve as a warning to others. Absolute tragedy. Have fun but work safe.
I absolutely DO feel your pain, brother. I did this to one of my cars in about 1998. I was jacking my treasured 9 year old 1989 Acura Legend Coupe up using a hydraulic floor jack which I had under the standard Honda central jacking point below the engine. I had good quality wheel stops fore and aft on both rear wheels, and I think I had it in gear with the parking brake on. While I was in the process of jacking it up with a very small size hydraulic jack on a mildly inclined driveway at a mild (15 to 30 degree) angle to the slope, the car began to suddenly slide sideways, causing the jack to turn onto its side, jamming into my engine oil pan, causing a massive dent in that pan. I was majorly bummed out! This dent impinged the oil pickup and the crankshaft. So, yes, I DO feel your pain! On the bright side, this sentinel event will cause you to be hyper careful whenever using jacks, jackstands or car lifts for the rest of your life. This future extra care may prevent you from severely injuring yourself. Bless you brother. It will be all right.
Oh mate, that was painful to hear about and i don't even own the car!! I feel your pain and that sick feeling you must have initially felt. On the plus side, you were not underneath it with no wheel on, when it came off the jack!!!!! Definite thumbs up for the shield stickers and the fog light delete, not sure about the front number plate? i'm trying a spell of front number plate delete on my Porsche 930 and not had my collar felt yet (fingers crossed). The Fezza will soon be back to her best, so keep plugging away and sharing the awesome content.
Thanks so much for sharing.. and so sorry for your mishap. I had my Honda S2000 fall off a jack stand for similar reasons.. your sharing this experience helps all of us avoid similar issues.. (ie make sure the jack can roll!!- and/or get one that has less of an arc). I now own a Ferrari 360, planning DIY work, and really appreciate your sharing! Sounds like an opportunity to deal with some rust bubbles as well... cheers from California!
damage looked like a blessing to reveal how much bondo is there. good chance to inspect the bubble appearing in the door as well. get it corrected before rust destroys the panels
Chin-up Jack. Thank goodness you weren't underneath it chap!. I too recently decided I'd had enough of so-so trolley jacks and got a professional grade one. I was advised to avoid the alloy jobs & went for a regular steel one, but low level for better access. Winntec 2.0 ton. Ball joints done, bushes next, onwards & upwards
Uuuugggghhhhhhhh sorry to hear about the damage. Those kinds of accidents are the absolute worst, I know exactly how you were feeling. Good luck on the repairs. The new exhaust is better with the single tip to match the cutout in the body. Stickers I could go either way on, not bad.
Can’t believe it, EXACTLY the same thing happened to me, a small stone jammed the wheel and prevented it self cantering. I almost lost my finger. Glad your ok. Put it down to the journey. I went straight out and bought a 4 poster ramp! I don’t have a high roof and the ramp gets the wheels to chest height so it’s fantastic.
I think many of us feel your pain. What a dreadful moment. In the grand scheme of things it could have been alot worse. I'm confident you'll get it fixed up good as new. Re: the prancing horse badge on the wing, it would be great to see a before and after shot as a comparison. What matters is how you like it. (For me, quad tips would be worth the extra effort 😊) Hope you get the exhaust sounding the way you want. What struck me about this video is just how epickly pretty the 308 is. Looking forward to your next update. Stay strong and try to enjoy the journey. 👍
I'm so sorry to see that damage I bet you went cold hope you get it fixed soon On the last video that electric one sounds like a jet engine with the whistle
The perils of working on the garage floor with jacks - good job you weren’t underneath it! Definitely looks better minus the spots and I like the Ferrari badges.
Ouch! Deep sympathy! And brave of you to share. I once narrowly escaped damaging all three of my vehicles with one careless act, and it took me days to get over it. New shock bushes (or even new shocks) should fix the floatiness.
I feel your pain: great attitude in sharing the story though. Remember it could have been so much worse. Years ago I jacked up my car on my dads newly (cheaply) resurfaced drive. Finished what I was doing and couldn't get out - the jack and axle stands has sunk into the tarmac....nobody else at home, thought I was going to be slowly juiced until luckily my dad came back. In my home town not long back, a poor guy drove his car up onto the kerb to get underneath to look for a suspension knock, as he vigorously bounced the car he managed to bounce it off the kerb and died after his head was crushed. I am always extremely nervous about getting under cars but if it does go wrong and only the car is damaged try and look upon it as a win!! Best of luck with sorting it and bad luck on the speeding: we have all had days like that.
Great that you are sharing this, as it will alert others to the danger of a car falling of the jack. What about constructing an inspection pit below garage floor which will make it easier and safer to work under the car? You work so much on cars that I imagine it will be of great benefit to you.
Totally feel for you! I've had a few of those "oh please, NO!" moments over the years. If it's any consolation, in time, the sinking feeling goes away - it does take about 30-years though..!
The two floor jack brands I’ve seen recommended the most here in Germany are Bahco and Rodcraft-no idea if those are available in Britain tho. Myself, I’ve got a 2.5t low access Bahco, it’s a 45kg monster made out of 8mm steel plates, I think it would survive a nuclear war. But as it’s such a hassle to move around if you don’t have a garage to put both your tools and car in, I recently added a 1.3t aluminium Rodcraft jack that weighs just 10.5kg. It looks to be very good quality too and is more than capable of lifting my Miata, but the Bahco is still in another class simply for its brutal heft. If push comes to shove, I’d trust it more than the small Rodcraft, but I bet the bigger Rodcraft jacks are just as solid as the Bahco ones, judging by the quality of the small jack.
Not that it will make you feel any better but I recently drove my Porsche 928s into the side of my Mazda Bongo, damaging both! The front of the Porsche is longer than I am used to and I thought I had another foot of space whilst moving them about!
Oh, wow. That's a nightmare. I did something similar on an Miata, and I still yell at myself for it. I can't imagine doing it to a Ferrari. Hopefully you can get it fixed up fairly easily and cheaply.
Waaay back in the 1970's, I'd resprayed the bonnet of my Triumph Spitfire and amazingly, everything had gone well. There was now a beautiful bright red gleaming paint job on that bonnet without even a hint of dust to ruin it. I celebrated with a nice cup of tea, put the mug of tea to one side and promptly rested one hand on the bonnet (as I had done a zillion times before) and instantly stuck to the tacky paintwork. Of course as I pulled away, the paintwork was absolutely ruined! It broke my heart and the next day I had to do the whole respray job all over again. I never managed to get it anywhere near as perfect as it had been for just a few special minutes the day before. So I really understand your pain!
Tough luck Jack, but hopefully it'll be a cloud with a silver lining, somewhere along the line, & main thing is you're safe! Your speedo is still broken, as you werent doing the speeds it appeared you might be.. Without lights & without stickers is better, gives the car cleaner lines, 'less is more' & all that. Wishing you all the best getting things sorted.
Mate I’m genuinely gutted for you - could see the absolute disbelief in your face. And fair play to you for sharing - you could have easily glossed over it and we’d have been none the wiser. Admire your positivity and thanks for all the great vids! 👍
Shame about the damage from the jack but it looks easily repairable and you'll probably get chance to have a few other bits tidied up while it's at the body shop so no bad thing. On the plus side you've alerted me to the dangers of trolley jacks which I was blissfully unaware of until now, so thanks for that!!! Love the stickers and lack of spotlights, it's got to be the best looking car ever. Surprised the ball joints didn't make a bigger difference, maybe it will all come together if you get the alignment done after you replace the other bushes, it's amazing how much the tracking can affect the feel of a car.
I once had to almost bench-press my own car after it came off a jack (pre jack-stand going in) so I can feel your pain!! Glad to see it's relatively easy to fix!
Devastated for you Jack ☹️ I feel your pain having bottomed out the rear valance whilst pulling off a road onto a grass verge in the Yorkshire Dales on Tuesday, totally my fault and was in a foul mood for the rest of the day! Amazing what a nights sleep does and you can get a new perspective the next day. Keep smiling and keep up the great work 👍
Jack we all feel your pain its a complete PITA but.... you were unharmed and that is way more important. Tough to take, I know, but the Influenzo will come back better than ever. Chin up mate.
Its 'good' that you did that and shared it. We all have massive fuckups that make us want to bang our head on the quarter panel and cry! I once completely lunched the motor in an Audi A3 on its first restart, after days of work. (And not because the timing was out!) Really enjoyed this episode, because I felt your pain. You said we can't imagine how you felt, but actually we can! :)
Gutted for you; reminded me of a time a gate fell over onto my Dad's pre-war MG and dented the body work. Awesome of you to share your mistake; hope it gets sorted soon. Oh and it looks much much nicer without the spots; cleaner lines and I'm 50/50 on the side stickers which I thought I was going to love.

I’d look for an alloy jack with a low saddle. I bought a big jack years ago and very time I use it, I wish I’d got something lighter.

Exhausts can take a little while to break in, and when they do, the sound can change, usually getting louder.
How do you explain that?
Yeah it's weird. When I put a new muffler on my car it just sounded the exact same as the old rotted one, but 300 km later it actually sounds much better now.
Yeah found that out myself.
Cover it in Ferrari stickers - then everyone will think it's some kind of kit car.
I just love how rational you are about things! So sorry about the incident. I can only imagine what you felt like.
I can feel your pain
I had to cover my eyes when I saw that damage gutted for you.
On the positive side the small numberplate no foggys and stickers look great . Love it.
Glad your removing the spots they definitely didn’t look right
Don’t beat yourself up to much, happens to the best of us. Great videos as always.
Isn’t this the excuse you needed for a re-spray? Just need some man-maths justification
Ha! Unfortunately not..
Thank you buddy! Best wishes to the 🇺🇸!
So sorry about the damage to your beautiful car. Glad it is a "relatively" easy fix. The fog lights were hideous and the shields look great!
I felt your pain on seeing that...you looked close to tears, bless you...as I would have been!
Feel for you. These things do happen and you didn’t get injured. Good sport for showing in the content 👍
I can tell from the look on your face how much that hurt! So gutted for you dude, I almost shed a tear looking at the damage, man what a bad day.
Yep, was absolutely gutted
Sorry this happened Jack. Just glad you’re ok. Though painful, the car can be repaired.
The epitome of keep calm and carry on
Bloody bad luck ! ..I feel your pain and frustration. Forget it, get it sorted and move on, we've all been there one way or another.
Jack, Thank God you weren't working under the car when it fell!
Maybe its time to buy one of those small pneumatic lifts.
Love the stickers. Quite liked the spot lights also but that is a matter of personal preference. So sorry about that disaster! Got my 928 home Friday for the firsts time and it overheated and blew all the water out. Man old cars are fun. Looking forward to you next installment!
Good luck with the 928 Deon!
Could see the disapointment in your face after that damage! As you said, its only panel damage and nothing money can't fix! All the best getting it fixed!!
Oh dear, bad luck for sure, but I am glad to see you are still moving forward with the Influenzo!
Oh no!! Sorry to see the damage and hope it can be fixed properly. Good decision re the exhaust; there is a very nice rasp to it.
Thanks great and my best to sunny California 🇺🇸!! Was there a few years ago and loved it!
damage looked like a blessing to reveal how much bondo is there. good chance to inspect the bubble appearing in the door as well. get it corrected before rust destroys the panels
Thanks Sean..
Thank you chap!
Sorry to see the damage mate. Hopefully you’ll get it sorted soon and it’ll be back to looking as good as new.
(For me, quad tips would be worth the extra effort 😊)
Hope you get the exhaust sounding the way you want.
What struck me about this video is just how epickly pretty the 308 is.
Looking forward to your next update.
Stay strong and try to enjoy the journey. 👍
I'm so sorry to see that damage I bet you went cold hope you get it fixed soon
On the last video that electric one sounds like a jet engine with the whistle
gutted for you mate regarding the damage, love the sheilds and no fog lights
The perils of working on the garage floor with jacks - good job you weren’t underneath it! Definitely looks better minus the spots and I like the Ferrari badges.
Gutting to see that happen but glad to see you smiling again the day after!
Ah yes but I’m in a rented house currently so a pit is not possible.. thanks for watching!
Totally feel for you! I've had a few of those "oh please, NO!" moments over the years. If it's any consolation, in time, the sinking feeling goes away - it does take about 30-years though..!
Oh - and much better without the fogs!
Cosmetic changes look good ( the intentional ones). The spots were horrid. I feel your pain on the jack slip....and the tiny tiny UK garages.
What a shame, no doubt it will be fixed in short order, good luck one of the best channels. Keep up the great content:-)
God that must have stung!!
Don’t feel too bad. It happens to the best of us. You didn’t get hurt physically. Just your pride. Keep up the great videos.
Keep smiling and keep up the great work 👍
Thanks Paul!
I feel your pain! Such a shame, but maybe this way you will be able to take a look if there are some hidden rust spots around there! Keep it up!
Jack we all feel your pain its a complete PITA but.... you were unharmed and that is way more important. Tough to take, I know, but the Influenzo will come back better than ever. Chin up mate.
Thank you buddy!! I feel much better about it today.. verging on suicide yesterday!
Thanks Jerry.. a gate falling on the car sounds awful!
I could feel your pain on the damage. Good channel keep going mate .
Ohh Jack! What a totally shit day. I’d have crawled away and cried for a few hours and then locked the garage for a month. Thank you for your honest sharing and please keep your faith in the 308. Always look forward to the next episode. 😢
