Undervolt your RTX 4060 Ti for more FPS and Lower Temperature! - Tutorial

- Undervolting really seems to be the best option in terms of GPU optimization for the RTX 4000 series. Be it a 4090, 4080, 4070 Ti or even a 4060 Ti, I’d still recommend doing it. If you do it properly, you’re gonna lose virtually 0 performance or even get an increase, while dramatically reducing heat and power consumption. Today we are featuring a RTX 4060Ti 16GB but the tutorial will work for the 8GB model and for the RTX 4060 as wel!

I'm gonna run daily: Undervolt 950mv 2750mhz core. +0mhz memory oc. 85-92w usage. Clearly got a decent chip quality. It can do +330 core and 1750mhz memory oc without soft or hard crash and doesn't appear to be artifacting either but not 100% sure. Minimums suffer of course because of default voltage. Don't want to increase it past defaults.

Wich One of this Is Better for playing with a huge boost without crashibg or having problems?
hey man appreciate your work, are you still running that daily profile you went with?
@@emptyheros Yeah i was running it for weeks until one game had issues, not with the undervolt, with the msi afterburner itself. Found that googling. The game simply kept crashing if msi afterburner was running, even if gpu was set to defaults.
Every other game runs fine and i haven't had one crash or bsod so far. Depending on the gpu chip you might need to bump it to 975mv or maybe even 1000mv but it should be stable. 4060ti curve defaults to 1075mv to get to 2750mhz core clock.
Ah I see. I just got my 4060 ti 16gb today. Have the dual fan OC edition one from Asus and left it at stock voltage but with +1000mhz memory clock and +150 core mhz and the temps stay around 60c-63c. Do you think this is fine? I have a full mesh case so the airflow is really good.
Getting good fps so far!

Thanks, it worked. 4060Ti , temp dropped from 72 to 65C, performance looks the same, sweet.

Hi. Thank you so much for that beautiful guide, I'm so glad to find it!!!
I got a 4060Ti 8GB MSI Ventus 3x.
I made it to these statistics:
+145 Mhz at 1075mV
+1000Mhz at memory
Now i got a perceptible boost ~+10-15 fps in games and max temperature is 55°
I currently have a 1660super. And your undervolt video has been the salvation, constant 60° and good stable fps, you have made me very happy.
I'm planning to upgrade to a 4060ti in the future and I'm already saving your video for when the time comes.
Thanks for the work, have a great year.

Get the 16gb model if you do get the 4060ti! I just got it and can’t recommend it enough 😊
I had a 1660 super & just upgraded to a 4060 ti . Games have been crashing hopefully this helps
@wieldermusic it is, but 16gb is a LOT better for future-proofing. More and more games are getting HUNGRY for VRAM. 👀
Super simple and easy. Thanks! Really helped lower GPU temps and keep performance the same.

GREAT undervolting tutorial. 55°C while playing Warzone 3.0 with no performance loss. Thank you, sir.
I've been following you since very early on instagram, and I never knew you had a UA-cam channel! I can't thank you enough for this vid, really needed that wattage reduction to make do on my psu ;)
Super useful, loud gpu cooler and quieter with no adverse change in performance.
Thank you so much! I was recently struggling with stability in fps, And after i did The undervolting, the performance was about the same but that doesn't really matter for me. It just matters if the settings work or not. And they clearly do my temps dropped around 5-10c while gaming.
Undervolting this anemic card, Tom's Hardware recommended a voltage limit of 109%.
My card wasnt happy doing the full overclock at first but it was running fine at a similar speed with the geforce experience auto overclock so I preserved a bit, it was actually the memory over clock that my particular card seemed to not like the most, but by being a little gentler with the undervolt its now happily running at 2745mhz, 9800mhz (mem), 1015mv sitting at around 54-60°c. I'm very happy with that thanks for the informative and easy to follow video!

Came from this tutorial and it worked. Playing Cyberpunk 2077 high settings at 1080p and the temp was around 80 degrees celsius on its default settings. Now its hovering around 60 to 65 with the same performance .

Thanks very useful. I’m building a fully passive system using 4060Ti (no fans at all).
Oh wow that’s actually a very cool project! I’d love to see a picture of the build finished :)
@@ImWateringPSUs Thanks, it's a couple of weeks away. Looking at the Zotac Twin Edge 4060Ti as the best candidate, due to the mounting screws matching the higher end cards (allowing for 8069 aftermarket cooler). Still waiting to see the PCB of the Zotac before I pull the trigger though.
@@ImWateringPSUs Just a small update if you're interested. The Strix version of 4060 works without fans completely, and has a better heatsink solution than using an aftermarket like Morpheus. I am thinking something similar with the 4060 ti although that may be pushing it. As such it is probably going to be the Strix 4060 ti deshrouded without fans. Maybe even the 16GB version.
I have already tested the 4060 Strix and it copes very well with the shroud and fans taken off, but you need something to keep the backplate on, as that attaches through the shroud.
Thank you. The information is very helpful and easy to follow. Applied it in my 4060 Ti Graphics card.

hi, im waiting for your next video about undervolting rtx 4060 😊
I’ll make it come out asap! :)
You are champ brother, i had problems with temperature in games like alan wake and rdr2 it was like 78-83 and now its 65-70 simply amazing
It dropped from 60 to 52 degrees on sifht as i was watching your bideos, using the same preset, thank you man 😌
I’m really happy it was helpful! Thanks a lot for taking the time to leave some feedback :)
I warn you dont put it in to autostart if it is in autostart it kan hapen that you always get a black screen and it is in autostart then you hav to go in to save mode and delete all your profiles under afterburner
You can hold CTRL after you log in to Windows, so Afterburner will not apply the settings on startup.
For some reason my 4060 also makes a coil whining sound, even though the 4060 is a power efficient graphics card. After I undervolted it, which previously consumed around 120-125 watts of power, now the maximum is only 90 watts, and the temperature dropped from 75°C to 60°C without any more whining of the coil, and the fan was running at the lowest speed of 1000rpm.
edit: and I didn't feel the slightest decrease in performance, after I tried the CP2077 benchmark before undervolt and after there was no significant difference, in fact 1% lower fps when undervolt got more stable fps

i run at 2500, 900mV, +750 mem clock, and great, hit little performance but grateful temp
Bro, thank you so much!
My 4060 signle fan was hitting 90c at AAA games before and I almost sold off to change dual fan version.
Reduced 10c on average, lowered fan noise with unnoticable performace difference. 🙌

It still uses 900 volt not empty or like 0 by judging the 4 bars. And also the core voltage stays +0%
Is it ok. Like all steps u did were very clear and I followed it exactly. Only the +0 (voltage core in that box is shown and ur screen it empty) and your bar is empty and reads 0. Mine reads 900mhv
Thank you! My RTX 4060 Ti temperatures droped from 76-77 to 65-66

I gotta be honest nothing changed much for me. His top setting worked quite well but my games would crash. So i went with lower settings and there really wasn't much difference from stock settings. Just buy a better gpu lol. I'm a car guy, if the turbo can only do so much i buy a bigger turbo...lol.
This card is very interesting because of the 16GB VRAM. In Diablo IV Full HD Ultra already eats up 12.4-13GB VRAM, (no dlss). For 586€ it's available the Asus Pro Art Variant of this card. I'm sure u heard about RTX4070 SUPER 16GB, GDDR6X, 256BIT, coming in march 2024 for 700$?
I absolutely agree!

after doing performance option, games crashes (4060 ti)
I was more interested on seeing the consumption after the uv, not the tutorial... Ty anyways.
Hey i used your first settings and when i start any game, after 1 minute every game crashes! Can you help me?

Did u heard the leak that in March 2024 also coming the RTX4080 SUPER 20GB, GDDR6X, 320BIT for 1200$?
Also speculations about RTX5090 with 24GB and 36GB variant on GDDR7, 384BIT.
I actually didn’t hear that but would love to see them come out!
4070 12gb super drops on the 17th (price $599!) and 4070ti 16gb super on the 28th (price is $799!) and 4080 super 16GB on the 30th (price is $999!) 4080 super performs like 5% faster then the base but is $200 Cheaper! the best improvement is the 4070ti is about 20% faster then the base!
Is it just me, or do RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti straight up refuse undervolts below 0.9v? If I try to go lower it doesn't flatten the curve anymore...
That’s very odd! I was able to lock in 800mV and 1700Mhz on mine doing as shown in the video
Me2, my 4060 can only do 1.0v@2740😔
great video, how many watts is the first preset?
great test. thank you. Can you give us some figures of the power consumption savings? how much usage before under full load and how much afterwards?

Weird... Did I get an especially good model? Mine defaults to 2820MHz clock @ 1.1V
I experimented a little and I managed to get 2900 and 10500 on memory.
That’s REALLY good.
Core voltage show empty it’s same as +0, or not. Like undervolting just trying to understand it a bit more anyone can help?
Very detailed guide but I’m afraid it’s not working, neither the “stable” nor the “performance” OC profile works with my RTX 4060 Ti.
Try 50-100Mhz less on the core clock, you just have a slightly unlucky card :)
@@ImWateringPSUs thanks for answering friend, glad to see you’re willing to interact with viewers. I’ve upgraded to a 4070 Super since then, and this time she holds a stable overclock at +200 core and +1950 memory, guess I got lucky this time : ) Gonna pass the 4060 Ti to my girlfriend so she can finally have a 1080p rig too.

bro, if I set the more aggresive settings/ second option, for my 4060 ti 8 vram, will this reduce its lifetime? I have no money to buy another gpu anytime soon if this one dies :(
unlikely to add any wear and tear really. mostly the voltage and high temperatures is whats bad. as long as its cold and especially if under-volted, it should have a longer life than otherwise.

I have a lot of Undervolting tutorials on the channel, try double checking with another one!
Followed the tutorial all the way through to my knowledge, for some reason every once in a while my screen goes completely grey. I looked this up and someone said it could be that the GPU isn’t getting enough power do you have any idea why?

I think i followed this exactly, everything looks to be the same but my Heaven benchmark crashes when I run it with those settings now. Should I revert or go for the second preset?
Nvm I just dropped it down 50 like you said, I'm a little confused why my GPU couldn't handle the higher Mhz though, I just got a MSI RTX 4060 Ti 16Gb.
Though I am currently having some overheating issues with my CPU which i'm also messing with some undervolting on so maybe it's the combination?
Also, I didn't see what temp I was running on my GPU with stock settings but with this tutorial applied I am sitting at 100% GPU usage on heaven benchmark and 47c temps stable.. Seems a little odd to me, but idk a lot about this so if anyone see's that as odd let me know.
