The images in this installment are just jaw-dropping levels of stunning. Every single one. Videos like this and imagery this good really get me inspired to go out and shoot more. Thanks for sharing, and bringing an inspirational bright spot to my day Stuart. Cheers 🙂
Great video Stuart, i love the Skidaw composition along with the last image, I think the quarry did indeed have a lot to offer & an area that may be visited again in different seasons.
Your 1/8th of a second was spot on Stuart. Great capture of the water flow. That and your focus stacking made it a fantastic shot. The polarisation colour completed the excellent image.
Another cracking vlog. Love the images. I would love to visit The Lakes again. Your vlog reminds me of what I am missing but takes me there in mind. Thanks.
Some great captures there Stuart from an unusually warm Lakedistrict for this time of year! For me, your final images from what might not look very promising conditions or locations are wonderful. Cracking!
Cracking images of Skiddaw Stuart and the conditions looked awesome. I wouldn't be too bothered about starting your videos as anyone who has seen you before will know that they're about to see some great images. I also liked that it was shot over a few days as this only goes to prove the changeable nature that is the Lake District😂 As for the shot at the end? I like it. The movement in the water is just enough to show that flow and still retain some texture and then a burst of autumnal colour too. Cheers
You do yourself down in this video. Great narration over B roll, incredible photography throughout and I loved the mix of locations, photography and what is obvious. Your skill to adapt and create in any conditions or locations. BELTER! 🙌🖤🙌
Great video, Stuart. I loved those images at Ashness. Mist, reflections, islands and mountains behind - perfect. I also think those woodland shots were gorgeous!!
Have to admire your modesty in your videos man plus the way you consistently process your images true to accurate colour saturation and contrast,I've come to see this is rare amongst the top photography tubers over the years, appreciate the efforts you put into educating your viewers in your videos and the way you keep the bs out😃..
Nice free ranging vlog. As ever your honest assessment of the conditions and compositional challenges is refreshing. I like the captions too! Lovely depth in the last image
Hi Stuart , good to see that you are showing the reality of a landscape photographer with the struggles of only having a small window of opportunity to capture the light and conditions at its peak, but what a job you made of this over a few days. The images from Ashness were beautiful with the mist and reflections, The quarry area looked stunning in the autumn colours, i can see why you wanted to return. The last image was also very nice, i liked the low angle and the autumnal leaves on the wet rock, which has some lovely detail on. I expect there will be more than a few new additions to the gallery over the next few months and i look forward to seeing them captured , all the best mate take care.
Another cracking production made all the better by the inclusion of character, something that I think many vlogs lack in. A great range of images, showing the benefit of looking closer into a scene and picking out those finer details which provide contrast.
A great video Stuart, I guess it shows us how difficult it can be to capture what you really want to and how Mother Nature is in charge of most everything we do to capturing the ‘ideal’ photo. I hope the Autumn colours can hold on for a weeks time when I am up there. 🤞
Ha, that explains a lot. Popped by the gallery a few times to say hello last week. You were obviously doing what I should have been doing and shooting some great autumn colours. Did get a few keepers tho 😁 The "Skida" lake mist shot is my favourite 😍
A varied but great video. I was interested to see what you made of Gelt Woods, as it’s somewhere I’ve been quite a few times. I’ve wandered the length of it as well and you’re right, the best bit is at the beginning. It does look better with less water flowing through. Hope the weather gods cooperate with your workshops
Some absolute crackers there, Stu! Really like the panorama of Skiddaw and the final image is very strong too. I shall have to see if I can visit my local woodland, whilst it's raining, when I'm on holiday next week. I'm actually off for a fortnight, but I'm having my other eye operated on to remove the cataract on the middle Saturday and then I'm restricted as to what I can and can't do. Definitely no heavy lifting, so that means I can't lug around my camera bag. Also have to avoid any dusty environments too, to minimse the infection risks. I hope you're blessed with some lovely conditions both before and during your workshops, though I know you'll make the best of whatever you get. Until the next time, take care mate.
I really enjoyed this vlog Stuart, it was great to see how conditions can vary from one day to the next and how you managed to get some interesting shots regardless of the weather 👌
I really enjoyed that trot round with you Stuart, thank you for taking the trouble to produce another interesting look into how often it is. Thought the early shots at Derwentwater were great and the final image at the new location. Don't know what's up with the weather these days - ridiculous temperatures.
Another fantastic set of images there Stuart. Great atmosphere from the Jetty looking towards Skiddaw and the Silver Birch photo's. I called into the gallery last Thursday whilst in Keswick, I was waiting for you to open after you'd nipped out for 15 mins ☺ I got absolutely soaked that day but got some great images of Silver Birches myself in the Borrowdale Valley from the Bowder Stone car park (one of my favourite locations)
Another cracking vlog mate, I like the format of your vids as they are, I actually think a lot of folk over do the b roll and when that happens I just end up skipping on! Gelt is a great place, I’ve been there quite about 3 times now over the years and seasons so I’ve done it to death but I totally agree with your comments on muddy coloured water and awkward compositions because I had the same problems! Looks like you nailed it tho! 👍🏻
Excellent work Stuart, loved that pano at the beginning of your video. How would say the autumn conditions have been for you this year compared to previous years in the lakes?
Stunning photography, Stuart and very pleasing images. The last woodland shot with the fast moving water really nicely conceived and with dynamism. Many thanks as ever. Great variety - not cobbled together!
Enough space on UA-cam for different styles of content. I follow some guys that has 90% of the video about trip too and back from location and walking to and fro with preparation of breakfast included too but your video, although spread over 2-4 days has insightful advice and photos so well done and keep them coming 👏👏 love that last shot, perfect shutter speed for the water.
A great watch as always Stuart and some beautiful shots across the few days out and about. Loved the Derwentwater mist shots and that last one made up for the duff walk ;)
This has nothing to do with the photography (mind you, I absolutely *love* the second quarry shot!) but... the comments as text appearing on the video have proper made me chuckle.
The images in this installment are just jaw-dropping levels of stunning. Every single one. Videos like this and imagery this good really get me inspired to go out and shoot more.
Thanks for sharing, and bringing an inspirational bright spot to my day Stuart. Cheers 🙂
That’s very kind of you John thanks
Loved the skidaw ones, fantastic reflection and mist.
Thanks Ian
Really enjoyed this Stuart
Cheers mate

Told you at the match last week that yours is one of the only channels I watch religiously. Great work once again Stu.
High praise matey 😂 cheers pal

Another cracking vlog. Love the images. I would love to visit The Lakes again. Your vlog reminds me of what I am missing but takes me there in mind. Thanks.
Thanks Dave 👍
My very favourite was the pano at the start of the video but every image was “wall worthy”! Well done Stuart, I enjoyed this one immensely 💙
Thanks very much Anne 👍
Lovely images in that vlog Stuart!
Thanks mate 👍
Might’ve been a duff walk, but that last photo was superb for me 😍
Cheers Neil

Good one Stuart, the high light being the quarry.
Thanks Colin

Thanks Peter it’s still looking good here for next week if the wind holds off plenty of colour
Ha, that explains a lot. Popped by the gallery a few times to say hello last week. You were obviously doing what I should have been doing and shooting some great autumn colours. Did get a few keepers tho 😁 The "Skida" lake mist shot is my favourite 😍

Great final shot and really interesting to see the difference polarisation makes to bringing out the autumn colours.
Thanks Bob

Aye tricky spot but a lovely walk, thanks pal
Excellent work Stuart, loved that pano at the beginning of your video. How would say the autumn conditions have been for you this year compared to previous years in the lakes?
Cheers Jim - autumn? Worst in recent memory, horrific
You are far too modest! Excellent vlog, excellent images, excellent photographer.
Cheers mate thanks for your company this week really enjoyed it 👍

Thanks Justin yes I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than do that
Nicely done Stuart, the jetty shot was sublime ! Amazing conditions! Loved the waterfall too ! Nice one
Thanks mate much appreciated
Travelling down to the lake district from Edinburgh in late October this year. I hope its as pretty as this!
All of your pictures in this episode were fantastic.
Very kind thanks Kathryn
Loved it Thanks for sharing and creating 👍👊✌️✌️👊👍

Thanks very much Andrew hope you’re well
Final shot passed the pub test
I hope that’s positive!
@@StuartMcGlennon indeed it is, not a fail
Duff walk!! Stuart I'd be happy with any of those images, as for the weather WTAF is going on
Haha it’s crazy isn’t it!
This has nothing to do with the photography (mind you, I absolutely *love* the second quarry shot!) but... the comments as text appearing on the video have proper made me chuckle.
Haha yeah I can’t believe I’d forgot I’d actually been to that place, doh!
Enjoyed the video. Only just found your channel. What is a glow mist filter ?
Thanks Roger - I don’t use them but some people do, they’re just a filter that has some diffusion built into them to soften the light
Id of met you there Stu, i just live up the rd from there. Lovely place
Yep lovely little wood
