Things I like about vintage makeover is that we don't have to purchase a lot of cosmetic products, which we can save a lot of money and do our makeup for budget unlike the modern makeup today. At the same time, we're able to hold a classic, elegant and simple look without time-consuming. Your tutorial prove that :)

Thank you! I agree! I would rather have a few quality products that I love them feel like I have to constantly consume more make up.

My sentiments exactly - one palette does it all. I am so impressed.

What are you talking about? If you went out and bought each of these elements you could easily blow $300-500.

Thank you so much! I do live in Florida which has that humid climate so that decoy helps with moisture retention ❤️

For authentic 1940-1960s makeup you can look into Merle Norman Cosmetics. It’s been open since the 1930s and a lot of the skin care and makeup is true to the original formulas. It’s my favorite vintage(ish) makeup store.

I was told most powders had more of a blue/green tint rather than a peach color.

I have seen both you and Rachel Maksy using mesh hair scarfs for your sets, but I have no idea what to even look up to find one for myself! Any ideas on where I can find one?

Beautiful. You have lovely skin & your eyes are stunning... I believe (from my Gran) that in UK the women wore red lipstick as part of the soldiers support in WW2... Mr Hitler was known for hating women who wore make up!!

There where no powder eyeshadows prior to the sixties. Is this correct.

According to my research the first powder shadows were invented in 1914 by Elizabeth Arden. I’m not sure what your asking but I’m simply trying to recreate a vintage look with what I have.

I recommend liquid lipsticks for lasting and kiss proof makeup. I wore stillas liquid on my wedding and did not have to reapply. I just prefer the feel of classic lipstick and more hydration.

Supposedly you can use lip liner to prevent that problem with any classic lipstick. I saw a video on TikTok where a lady applied lip liner first and then she went in with the lipstick, blotted it, and applied more lipstick and blotted it again. I haven’t tried it myself, but it sounded interesting. I think she also powdered over it to help it stay.
