This is one of the most gorgeous brush outs I ever did see! So simple but has such a class of elegance to it. I typically part my hair in the middle for my wet sets as it suits me more than a side part does, and this video made me so want to try it to jazz up my usual set. Such a lovely video, very clear, soft and positive. Thank you!!
I love when my hair is down but I really like styles that move away from my face. This was the exact style I was looking for that I’ve seen in so many old Hollywood movies!! Thank you!!! You are gorgeous!!
You look like Christina Applegate, as for this style on you it turned out absolutely beautiful! And you're so soft spoken a joy to watch and listen. I also love Old Hollywood, their hair is amazing, imagine doing these brush outs on the daily basis. It takes me hours to do mine occasionally, thanks for the pomade tip, I always have these annoying frizz after brushouts, but never wanted to use a pomade because I didn't want my hair to look greasy and weigh it down, but yours didn't even show, I'll try it! 🌞💮
Wow, how absolutely gorgeous this brush out turned out!! Your artistry in beautifully capturing Lana Turner’s voluptuous curls & waves is amazing!! I’d love to see the vintage outfit you wore for this date night. What an elegant, stunning vision you must have been!!
Terrific video! I’m a fan of 1940s hairstyles, especially long hairstyles like Rita Hayworth, Hedy Lamar, Veronica Lake, etc. I was wondering if you’ve ever gone out with a hairstyle like this - maybe to the supermarket or out to eat, etc., and if anyone noticed your hair? I would sure notice and compliment you!👍
I love this! I always do my middle part set with traditional pin curl clips but it’s tiring on my thick hair. I need to give these pillow rollers a try. Can you do a more in-depth video on the setting pattern and how to use the rollers? Thank you ❤️
Thank you! I love pin curls as well but have found myself reaching for rollers lately and I do a video showing how I put them in. The next time I do a middle part set I will try to film it ☺️
@@mrstdupuy I would appreciate that ❤️ when I set my set my hair with pin curls I do a middle part and set the crown with standing pincurls facing my ear on each side and the rest of my hair towards my face. It is based on a Hedy Lamarr setting pattern I found online. Would setting towards my ears work with these rollers? I think I would have to roll the rest facing down
I just watched this video and went through your playlist.. you have to make many more hair tutorial videos!! I need more videos uploaded your a pro and the best in vintage hairstyles!!
I have a broad rectangle face, and I have a hard time making the swoopy bit look right on me. I don’t know why I never thought of a middle part. You look very pretty ❤
My hair is just like yours, straight and thin, Ican barely do something with it. I can't even tie it without looking like a potato. You'r doing such a great job with yours. I'm just here watching but know I could never do it like you do it :').
I love your videos! After years of college and covid, i finally got some small but steady income...what should i invest on, hair wise? A brush, a comb, spray or a pomade? Im really wondering cause i love this and wanna get better at doing my curls. Any tip would be apreciated! Also, you could do a video on your faves items and help a girl in need 😋
I feel like I was in the same place a year ago when I started teaching myself vintage styles. I can certainly do a video with tips on basics for starting a vintage styling routine and how to expand it over time 😊
I know I'm not the person you asked but as someone who just started earlier this year, I would recommend lottabody setting lotion, it seems to be the favorite of all the pros and its affordable, you'll also need a spray bottle to dilute it in. The Denman brush is also great, a rat tail comb, a pomade (I use suavacitas, mrstdupuy uses j crew), and some pillow rollers from Amazon is all you really need to get started! Mrstdupuy also has a video on using a pillowcase to create a scarf to sleep in which is great if you're not looking to invest in a scarf just yet, if you are then I highly recommend a 36" silk scarf, there's all kinds of fun day looks you can do with them besides covering your rollers while sleeping 😊
Where/how do you figure out how to do these styles so accurately? And also could you try and recreate Brooke shields hairstyles. Specifically the ones she would wear in interviews, awards, and commercials? I know it's not the 50s but I haven't found a single video on youtube get it right and I feel like you could.
Your hair is beautiful. Question….it says that you use foam rollers from Amazon, but the ones you take out of your hair look like a strip of fabric or ribbon. Where do we purchase these? Thank you
These are pillow rollers from amazon. They have foam in them, a wire, and a silky fabric exterior. Let me make sure I have The link is in the video description.
How long do your curls usually stay? And how should we wrap the hair at night? Whenever I curl my hair with a flat iron they always fall within an hour or two.
If you part your hair on the side and sweep the bang over that may help or wear with a variety of bangs. I know they had styled specifically for higher hairlines that I’ll have to try as well👌
I'm so going to try this. It's so pretty! I just can't master the brush out curls yet but I'm getting there. Also where did you get that top? I've been searching for something like that for so long and can't find anything.
The 40's had the most glamorous hairstyles. Lana's hair was so beautiful till she suddenly chopped it short????? The 50's had the worst looking, short non-glamorous hair styles. But the 60's brought back longer styles with nice lifted, higher off the scalp getting rid of the flat 50's look. This video is beautiful, recreating the glamour. How about one recreating Rita Hayworth's gorgeous tresses? Nice job, well done.
I think they went short due to wartime efforts. A lot of women working in the factory had hair falling in their face, emulating Veronica Lake. She was encouraged to cut her hair to influence other women to cut theirs. Long hair had the risk of getting caught in machinery, or at the very least hindering productivity due to having to move it out of the way.
I wish these styles would make a comeback. Glamour and beauty seem to be forgotten terms these days. Wanna attract attention? Stop using kool-aid to color your hair and learn to use curlers.
You could have made this comment without judging women who want to color their hair. We don’t have to put a group of women down just to raise another one up.
We can make it have a comeback. Nothing is stopping us from doing these hairstyles! If enough people do it, more people will start to get inspired and want to do it too!
Just classic! There was no glamor like the 40’s.
I would never guess you have thin, straight hair. It looks so thick and gorgeous❤ Just beautiful. I wish I could do this with my stick straight hair.
Thank you! It is amazing what a few curlers can do 🥰

I can relate! I don’t like hair touching my face or neck so I wear combs a lot or scarves to pull it off my face
Your brush outs are so helpful for us long haired ladies! Your styles always look so lovely too, and you explain things so well. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you find it helpful
Omg this is a DREAM look
Thank you! I really enjoyed this one 😊
Such a beautiful hairstyle. I will definitely try this one out.

Lana Turner was the most beautiful star Ever! - my favorite. ❤
You did great with the hairstyle! 😊
I also have fine straight hair so you really inspired me to try out this hairstyle! Thanks you look great👍
Thank you! Hope you like it!

such a beautiful end result! loved watching your techniques. you also remind me a lot of Christina Applegate haha.
Thank you 😊
I came to the comment section to see if anyone else thought she looks like a 1940s Christina Applegate.
Turned out darling!
Wow, your hair turned out absolutely perfect! My brush outs always leave me looking haggard, I’m totally jealous of your skill!
Gorgeous
Thank you!
Bello. Gracias.
This is my favourite so far. Loved this one!

Lovely hair style made popular by actress Jennifer Jones too! Watching your videos is so soothing.
Thank you 🙏
I have a broad rectangle face, and I have a hard time making the swoopy bit look right on me. I don’t know why I never thought of a middle part. You look very pretty ❤
Thank you!
You are so talented!!
Thank you!
I have fine, straight thin hair so thanks for this style! Hoping to change that soon 😁
Mine is curly 😭💔
It looks very girly and fun! I might have to give this a try, though my hair is pin straight and doesn't hold curls well
My hair is the same way! It only holds a curl if I set it over night 👌

i adore these vintage hair styles but i have curly hair😞😞 so difficulty to work with brushing out with create a frizzy messy

Can you please do a Rita Hayworth hair Tutorial please ?
tão lindo. vou fazer ❤️
Please do a Hedy Lamarr’s hair in The Strange Woman 😍😍
I love Hedy! I have a setting pattern for her but I’ll have to look up that particular film 😁

Which pomade did you use? Thanks
How long do your curls usually stay? And how should we wrap the hair at night? Whenever I curl my hair with a flat iron they always fall within an hour or two.
Usually three days for a good wet set. I wear a slumber net at night for sleeping 😊
How long did this take? You look like a movie star 🌟 🤩
I like your videos
I am from India
If you fluff it up and brush more it makes a 70s look
Absolutely! I’m sure I’ll make it to that decade eventually 😊
Do you have any suggestions for styles like this but are flattering on larger foreheads?
If you part your hair on the side and sweep the bang over that may help or wear with a variety of bangs. I know they had styled specifically for higher hairlines that I’ll have to try as well👌
I'm so going to try this. It's so pretty! I just can't master the brush out curls yet but I'm getting there. Also where did you get that top? I've been searching for something like that for so long and can't find anything.
Thank you! It’s from Freddie’s of Pinewood online ❤️
What product do you use to make your curls so strong?
I use Lottabody setting lotion when applying rollers
This looks beautiful, I want to try. Is it uncomfortable to sleep at night with the rollers in?
These ones are pretty comfortable but I do recommend sleeping a a scarf so they don’t tug your hair
You remind me of Sylvie from Loki😳
You’re beautiful 😍
❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍

คุณเป็นที่สวยและมีความสามารถเราจะติดตามคลิปคุณขอให้มีคลิปเกี่ยวกับทรงผมสวยๆแบบนี้ใช้อุปกรณ์ไม่เยอะนะค่ะ
For me, Lana was almost on a par with Marylin.. Beautiful style but not for everyone.
This is a perfect tutorial!!! My hair will not accept a side part 😭 so i will be using this 🩷
dig your video and all, but lionesses dont hev very big manes... xD

Why not both? Besides, women in the 50s used unnatural colours to tint their hair
We can make it have a comeback. Nothing is stopping us from doing these hairstyles!

If you wanna wear your hair this way, you can create the comeback 😊
