There's something sexy about pc builds
He explains things in understandable morsels
So happy for you, Lauri! These are some beautiful upgrades. I just built a combination between this PC and your recommendations for the $3-4k range (mine came in exactly at 3.5 lol) in the 802, but I built it in black, so you'll get to see what that looks like once I take pictures of it and tag you! Thanks for all your insight and knowledge, I'm so glad you're able to get to enjoy the fruits of your knowledge too!
What was your previous CPU? Whats real world performance difference? I have a i9-9900k and planning on building a new pc
Thanks for showing behind the curtain on setup, placement etc! Whole upgrade looks awesome!
Good motivation for me as I'm scheduled this weekend to both put together a new editing machine and renew my office set-up.
Excellent! I love it, plus with all the work you've done for us "little people" you truly deserve it! Two thumbs up! 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome upgrade bro ❤ and I would like to mention some things here that according to Gamers Nexus testing, Thermal Grizzly Contact Frame has much better tolerances and proper torque adjustment guide for screws that helps it to shed some extra degrees and better memory frequencies. That video is caled "$4.35 Fix for Intel Thermal Problems | Thermalright 12th Gen Contact Frame"
Just few degrees for the 13th gen
Excellent video and awesome upgrade! I built a high-end Z690 platform back in October and have five of the Seagate Firecuda 530's in my system. Absolutely love them! The fact that you gained so much performance is pretty damn impressive. My plan is to upgrade to a 4090 Ti if/whenever it's released, as I need all the 3D rendering horsepower I can get. I hope I can get as close of a performance uptick as you.
Well deserved upgrades! Great video as always!
Enjoy your new set up, seems quite perfect!! As for the monitor (yep, the color is fine) and video editing with contrast 1000:1 on an LCD panel, wish you good luck with your work below 20 IRE...:). I know it's not OLED time yet, but eventually will be!!
That improvement is crazy . I would like to hear from your editor to see what they think. cheers.
finally using the bracket yay! I have been using them for a minute and love them
Nice upgrade. I sorted my problem after watching your video with the Asus representative about RAM.
My XMP didn't work on my Asus ProArt Z790 motherboard with Corsair 64GB of DDR5 6000MT.
I was running at 4800MHz default config. So I enabled the XMP-II profile and dropped it to 5600MHz works perfectly now. I wish I went for a 5600MHz Ram in the first place and save a few £.
Upgrade day is always a good day. Nice setup 👍
Got a similar computer for my own recent upgrade, but I’ve been thinking of a similar table and monitor! This is super helpful, thank you!,!!!,!
I wasn't expecting this i9 13900 to outpace the 2nd gen 32 core threadripper by a considerable margin!
Impressive.
Thank you for discussing issues on the AIO. Good to know that coz I’m planing an upgrade down the line from ryzen 3900x to ryzen 5950x. Don’t have budget for latest platforms and I think previous Intel and AMD cpu and mobo formats are still good for another 5 years+
congratulations sir have a great carrier have so much success
The FireCuda 530 certainly is a lot of fun. I've got the 510 in my original system, and in my current system, I'm using the 530 (yes, also the 2 TB version) as my main drive, and the 510 as the secondary one.
I just bought one ,Firecuda 530 2 TB version today. Its realy mindblowing fast..
Superb, everything that money can buy🔥🔥🔥🔥
No sooner did I watch this video then got an email from NewEgg with this exact monitor for $399.99 and had to get one ordered. My video editor is going to be thrilled!
Cheers
Rick
Hey. Love your videos. It's so hard to find tech stuff for content creation.
I have a question for you: Could you put TWO 4090's in that rig? I'm almost totally focused on rendering, and I've seen videos that suggest that two GPUs of the same type will nearly double your rendering speed. Then I'll never need a 5090. Future-proofing! 😃
The only thing I didn't like about the MSI trio, is that apparently they skipped out on the vapor chamber and have a cheaper VRM, otherwise its one of the better looking ones you can find at MSRP. I managed to get the Asus TUF version at MSRP via the Asus storefront. Curious if you also get a bit of coil whine.
Great tip on placing the sticker washers on the stand-off themselves, instead of the motherboard
Cool Video 💜
Nice upgrade 😀😀👍👍
Hey, you can use signalRGB to control your ram leds. It works with corsair rams as well.
This is amazing!
Do you think it is possible to build a high end PC like this for an absolute beginner who has never build a PC?
Including installing Windows etc
Best of luck. I am sure you will never need to upgrade your psu. That's a great setup
To 16:25, the iCUE from Corsair. You can just install it and adjust the RGB and then deinstall it. You don't have to keep it running, once you set the RGB to your liking.
Thanks for the elaborated video - As always it would have been great if you Puget bench after effect as well. thank again!
almost nothing left from the "upgraded" machine, finally. I've just upgraded from 3950x to 7950x as well. kept only 3 HDDs and reused one old psu as well as old monitors.
The SN850X 2TB actually slightly faster than the 1TB btw. This is the case across most M.2 drives. Worth bearing in mind if you want to maximise every little bit of your system.
Not sure if you've tried it yet but a small undervolt of 12th/13th gen can bring a decent minus 5-10c core/package temps.
thus case 😍 is it the be quiet?? looks great i should have bought that instead of lancool 3
Fantastic content! I have been watching your videos for a long time and still can't pull the trigger on a build.
Which motherboard do you think is best, the Asus ProArt Z790 or the Gigabyte Z790 Aero G?
I like also AIDA64 Extreme for testing the system stability, you can test ram cpu, gpu(cpu),...all together or each individually. And when you just let it sit in the background, you can capture also thermal throtteling
super cool video! been eyeballing thag motherboard. i'll have to note the monitor while 4k and 10bitnits only 60hz if it was 120hz+ that would've been all the ticks for me lol
Should have gone with a monitor from Eizo :) the ColorEdge CG2420 is self calibrating and is quite a steal for foto/video editing where colors are important
What’s the Best Value motherboard that will provide similar benchmark scores. And what a best value monitor for Novice.
Instead of stickers you might need to good small rubber washers. I believe I've seen them in the Ring doorbell kit.
MAH BOI DROPPED A NEW VID
Nice build! I wonder how xmp performance of these ddr5 kit. I am using 2x32 Kingston Fury but running into some instability issues. Do you have any suggestions how to pick 64gb kits?
Awesome vid! ❤
Is this better than Mac Pro, u think? I m deciding if i shud jump over the PC wagon. For davinci resolves 18. Is this enough to handle DR18?
Can you please compare how the 13900k performs with AI video upscaling software like Topaz Video enhance vs the Ryzen 7 7800X3D please.
Congratulations on your new cpu for editing...
Maybe sharing BIOS settings of the new ASUS ProArt motherboard with the 13900K, regarding this stable performance and those kind of results?
Way to Goat! If you have the patience wait till 14th gen for max upgradability🙏
I Just upgraded to an 13900KS from my 12900KS and the Artic Liquid Freezer 420mm II in Push-Pull had a hard time keeping it cool. So I moded it and added a Rockit-Cool Copper IHS, since then my CPU is a lot cooler in that combination. Still 2 cores get into therma throttling but most are cool enough to continue with high frequency.
I think the s variant is meant for custom water looped PC's
Around 7:59: You're installing covers over the M.2 sticks... are these also heatsinks?
It seems like your msi monitor is quite far from you, do you put the size of the text up or do you just squint a bit? Or is the wide angle lens making it look further away?
Does the thunderbolt controller with nvm38 work with thunderbolt 1 and 2 devices? Do thunderbolt devices work and connect (especially when you resume from sleep) when xmp is enabled ?
Can we get this build against a macbook pro m2 Max?
Hey guys. I have a huge problem with Davinci Resolve. I am running on Win11, Intel 11700k, RTX3090 and 128GB RAM. And in some reason when I preview a couple of transitions effects in edit page VRAM 24GB is pretty fast full and when is full whole Davinci Resolve fall down just like that... It is hard stay calm because it is my job not just a hobby. I tried everything but still the same result. Transitions eats my VRAM and whole program fall dawn... Can somebody help me with? Some friend recommend me switch to Apple, I already tried it and yes, it!s much better than PC, but now I need to fix my VRAM problem.
Desk any good? How's the wobble wobble?
Did you consider a drop in Upgrade like a newer and faster AM4 CPU?
thank u for this. do u have a summary of how u undervolt the cpu. i got ur video on how to make fan less noisy. that was game changer. just need some idea how to undervolt from z790 mobo. cheers. pls dont say theres a lot of youtube videos on how to undervolt. how u explaain is much, much better. like a really good teacher.
I have the new 4 dimm 64gb 6600mhz corsair Vengeance ddr5 on the way from Taiwan rn can't wait to get it. Im running 4 sticks 64gb of 6000mhz lancer xpg a dies rn also with just a slight overclock of +1 ratio offset with 0 offset running avx and the turbo set to 128 sec instead of 56 and get 42000+ on r23 and only hit 89° with the h150 elite lcd from corsair during gaming it's around 56°
Hi there I am still unsure of which cpu to go for the Ryzen 9 5900X way out of my budget, just wondering is the Ryzen 7 5700X cpu will be enough for 4K content creation - as in using After effects and color grading, photoshop and light room?
Can you take a heat temp sensor gun to your builds and record the temps of your motherboards and NVMe ssd on your reviews.
Nice thing to upgrade your PC
I want to build my first I had a MacBook Pro before. Needs color grading in Davinci resolve. I'm wondering how to reconcile Intel i9-13900KS with two GeForce RTX 4090 and still have a liquid cooler for the CPU. It would be nice if there was an option in the future to mount on the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G motherboard
Or is there a better design? max £8k on this
should i get i9 13900k or ryzen 9 7950x?
are you still happy with and willing to promote the Z790 pro Art Creator MOBO? I love the basic board(even though strictly Gen 4 M.2) . Is it compatible with the upcoming i7-14700K?
Why you don't use the heatsink that is available for Seagate SSD? Is it better?
Is it worth overclocking the GPU (RTX 3090) for video editing with Davinci Resolve?
Can you let me know if the motherboard ProArt exhibits any coil whine? Either under load or maybe a faint buzzing which modulates in the background with system activity and present most if not all the time (can be caused by c-states).
Can maybe someone run Aida64 copy memory test and latency/ Prime95, Cinebench r23 to see if any of those induce coil whine?
I have Gigabyte Z790 Master, which is a fabulous board but has coil whine as described and i read that Asus Maximus Hero is the same... so how is it with ProArt?
Many thanks
Looking for some help with this motherboard:
I just made my first custom build pc with this motherboard and my Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting (Intel (R) AX210 6E). What is strange is that when going into device manager--> advanced --> switching 802.11ac to 802.11n
That fixes the d/c; however, causes my speeds to plummet.
Does anyone know a solution for this? i've reset drivers, redownloaded bios from asus.
Thanks for any assistance.
Frustrated I upgraded my computer to PC Win 11 with a ASUS Pro-Art 790. The MB supports TB 3 but how do I connect my Apollo Twin X with TB2 ?. I tried the Apple TB 3 to TB 2 but my MB doesn't see my Apollo. ( yes TB is set to ON in the BIOS ) Any help would be appreciated
I have questions if you don't mind. Why aren't you custom water cooling ? Plus I have R9 5900x and think of water cooling , is it worth?
Lovely build,
Congratulations.
What do you think about direct die cooling for your build?
I'll say you would be able to get extra performance from the chip
I'd say as a creator it's not worth it, too much risk and work if anything needs changing :)
@@theTechNotice what I'm so sure of is that 13900k will not thermal throttle when it's direct die cooled, which is a great performance advantage
@@samsonadeboga223 How often does the system actually throttle in day to day use though. It would probably make more sense to tweak the power to keep temps in check if it's actually throttling than go direct die.
How much cooling is lost in the Liquid Freezer II 420 by removing one of the fans to make it fit in your case?
Thanks for the video. Can you recommend video editing PCs already built and on the market? I don't want to build my own PC. Thanks in advance.
Great idea!
I'm new to building pc. What's the best motherboard and cpu for the rtx 4090 FE
MSI dragon center for MSI lighting, worked for my 3090 gaming trio
beast of a pc you built there!! Man i was just wondering if you had any idea about the i9-13900KF and i9-13900K, i know the K has integrated graphics but what i mean is that , does it make a big difference for video editing. i have been lookng all around the internet and everyone is just talking about the i9-13900 (K)...
Yes it does.
0:55 "It's time to upgrade the PC so we can get more videos done faster."
...the 3090 Ti that was in there was _more_ than adequate to edit video. I cannot comprehend how a 4090 will actually save you any meaningful amount of time editing/encoding/transcoding.
Maybe your project exports take 4 minutes instead of 7, but so what? How often do you export/transcode/etc.? Does that time actually add up for you? Enough to justify a $1600 GPU to replace your $1600 GPU from a year or two ago?
If you want a 4090 in your PC, no doubt; respect. However, I'm skeptical this was actually necessary and will actually have a meaningful impact on a typical UA-camr. The truth is, RTX 3060 12GBs will handle 4K timelines no problem... As will 20-series cards. Hell, outside of encoding, I barely notice a difference in premiere between my old 1070 Ti and my 3070 Ti.
That ASUS motherboard is A-MA-ZING!
Hi. My name is Oz. Love your videos. I have a question about my setup. I have a really good build imo. I use davinchi to create my content. Even with what I consider a good build, I still get studder and jumpy footage while editing. I am hoping to get some advise. If you're willing to give me some advise, I'd really appreciate it. Let me know and I'll give you my specs.
The 420mm aio doesn't have the 3rd fan on it. Won't that affect cpu temps?
completely agree about the Arctic Liquid Freezer being one of if not the best range of AIOs, but have the annoying need to find new motherboard protection stickers when you swap motherboards; at least they add two sets for Intel and AMD motherboards. I extensively use WD SN850X and Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSDs. I'll probably move to 990s when the new firmware has been proven to stop the early "wear" that was happening. Everyone with Samsung drives should be using Samsung Magician and keeping firmware up to date. The rate at which SSD prices are falling is a bit depressing: last year I paid $230 for 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSDs. Now they're around half that price! Same with DDR5 RAM. My Alder Lake build from last year is now about $2K cheaper!
Lower prices are great news for us still planning to build
What motherboard stickers 😭. It is really necessary? Planning to swapt case soon and didn't realize this .
@@cjyy6290 not sure if you saw my reply: someone helpfully deleted the response, probably because it included a link to Arctic's tech support page (i.e. outside of youtube). Basic recap: the stickers are probably required to stop the rubber grommets on the backing plate nuts migrating through the motherboard over time and leading to a loss of pressure and thermal conductivity and therefore an overheating processor. It's probably OK in the short term but I wouldn't risk it over the long haul (no idea how long that would be). Contact Arctic support is your best bet and ask them.
@@treyquattro noted. Thank you for your help 🙏.
WIth all the compute power you have on hand, why do you continue to output at 25fps? Love your content, but a lot of the A-roll shots come out as dizziness-inducing choppiness due to the bad interpolation of 25fps on NTSC displays. I run 144 personally, and I still have issues with interpolation. B-Roll and Screen Cap seem to come out fine, but A-Roll is always where I have issues watching your content. Just switched my monitor to 100hz, and the issues persist.
Did Asus solve the Ram Issue when ruunning all four Ram Slots? And does it support 192GB Ram now? Greetings!
We have the atem mini pro at church. I like the atem devices, especially the mini where all your inputs can be different than your output.
👍
bought the Arc A750, didnt know it didnt work with ryzen 7 5700x in premiere pro, since the cpu doesnt got igpu to activate the gpu encode/decoding ability!so I am buying intel gear next month!
I'd try undervolting the CPU a little and experiment to find the sweet spot.
Nice, Congratulations 😊 i build pc with AMD 7950X, do you think i did mistake?
1 question, how do you use a drive for a cash-drive??
Why did you have to enable XMP to run it at 5600? The motherboard tech specs say that it can run at 5600 without OC (which I believe means XMP):
7200(OC)/7000(OC)/6800(OC)/6600(OC)/6400(OC)/ 6200(OC)/ 6000(OC)/ 5800(OC)/ 5600/ 5400/ 5200/ 5000/ 4800MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory*
Without XMP it only ran at 4800?
I duno if it still works this way but my OLD MSI card (ahem.. rx580 8g) I was able to just set the RGB I wanted in the app and it would stay that way after uninstalling the app, at least until I had to do a BIOS reset. Maybe something worth trying :)
What kind of vacuum cleaner is this, anyone know?
Mounted AIO wrong will cause air to build up air rises so your gonna have air pockets where the hose are not good just a head up :)
You can put extra 3 fans on the other side of AIO for ultra performance
Already have 3+2:)
You dont need RGB software for GPU or RAM always installed on your PC. I simply install these RGB Apps to change colors on my hardware and then uninstall them, and all settings and colors stay applied after that.
Open RGB to control All zones LED Entire devices from motherboard might work.
Why not increase the RAM to 128GB? Might be running at slower speed, but more RAM is good right?
What I personally dislike about the LF II is their backplates - even the cheapest Noctua coolers have sooo much better markings. If I was to install another LF II I'd probably get myself a cheap Noctua 1700 kit first, and the reuse THEIR superb backplate.
'You don't have to upgrade everything' 😅, but the only thing you kept was 3 out of your 4 ssd's and your cpu cooler. Case too I suppose.
I know you don't do gaming builds but if you want to do gaming videos for UA-cam would something like this do?
Why not use a high refresh rate monitor instead of just 60hz?
Doing a build similar to yours had no idea I had to take one of the fans off the arctic liquid freezer 2 420 to make it fit into the be quiet but I was going to ask what did you do with the pre installed fans that can with the base on the front? did you leave them as is?
I took the front fans that come with the case off and then put the aio fans as intake and attached them to the aio, so still being able to use all the fans.
Does SignalRGB not work with Corsair rams?
