Hi just to let you know I have started collecting the sweet sixteen having been inspired by your good self. Your videos are invaluable as I can only afford really bad examples. Keep up the good work.
Excellent restoration on the Deora. Its good you can get repro surfboards. Many of the plastic parts on diecastings get broken or go missing. The dislikers' just didn't get the Christine video. As for the Christine casting itself, what an insult to offer such a model for sale. Cost cutting to extreme: probably stock wheels and axle lengths used in many other models. Might be made in China, but I have the other end of the scale on my model railway: some excellent Chinese made Victorian Railways locomotives, which are almost as good as the $1000 brass versions.
@@WheelsNThangs HO scale. Brass model locos. They have a mechanism and can run on regular track at 12 volts. And the default coupler is the Kadee. They were bought by those who wanted ultra detailed model trains and were willing to pay for them. The loco hood and cab usually made from etched brass sheet and showed all practicable details like door or hatch panels with the correct hinges and latches. And all other details like scale size handrails, pipework, windscreen wipers mirrors etc. The sort of detail a plastic model would not have - In the past that is. I never bought one as i could not justify $1000 for a small switcher, or $2500+ for a mainline loco model. Now there are plastic models from China which are almost as good and cost about $250. Still seems alot, but this is modelling Victorian Railways in Australia and the buyer base is much smaller than a model marketed in the US.
The Deora turned out beautiful. That's a lot of sanding, I don't know if I could go to 12,000 grit. I thought the Christine video was awesome and I saw a flash of her towards the end of this video. Keep up the great work.
Nice job! As for the dust any chance it's on your lens or sensor? What type acid are you using on the base, it looks yellow, Muriatic perhaps? Thanks P.S. For those that missed the Easter egg, pause using space-bar or "K" then you can advance frame by frame with the comma or period between the ? and "M" on most keyboards.
Nah, the dust was just sticking to the car. I must have had some serious static going on that day. Here is what I'm using mixed with water amzn.to/2GmugBv Glad you caught the Easter Egg!
You might want to try an anti-static computer cleaning brush to get rid of that pesky dust in future. They only cost a couple of bucks online. You'd probably want to get one with fine bristles.
Great Video Brotha, Im in Ohio also lol and am a Custoizer/Restorer too and really love your work and finally someone else uses the center bit like me, its so much easier, keep it up!!!!
Hey, I really like the Christine video you made. Very entertaining. I never had a Deora when I was a kid, but I did find a Treasure Hunt Deora little bit of a while ago. --Dave
Thank you Dave, I tried to make it funny but many did not like it! I never had a Deora either, actually I don't think I had any of the original Redlines.
The deora ll will always be my favorite hot wheels no matter what! Because of the highway 95 movie ☺️. I know of some special edition with real riders on it on eBay but I haven’t been able to find any recently.
I still have my Deora from '68. I lost the Boards and it's been run over by my Dad in his AP6 Safari. I had about another eight of the original 16 but they git stolen at School
Nice work have you ever tought in trying powder coating your projects to change it alittle maby also sand blasting them.. great work as always.. big LIKE :) ;) :D =)
Jammin!!!!! You did a great job! (And ya beat me to it!! Hahahahaha my next is also a deora) has the same weird broken steering wheel - I think you guesstimated installation right- or the same as I, in any case. Lol sneak peek there at the end? 😉 Happy day and thanks!!
Thank you An, looking forward to seeing yours! Yeah, I think the wheel was just thrown in there because I don't see it on any of the picture online. Ha!
Nice job on the one. those cars I wanted to send are on their way to you. And I also tossed in an old Johnny lightening Spiderman truck I had, it's a cool casting and I figured you could probably do something cool with it if you wanted. No obligation, I'd just like to see the two Lesney matchbox cars restored, my dad and uncle who originally played with them would get a kick out of it. The redline Ferrari 312p is your call.
What's that at 8:53? Large 1950s Red/White Coupe?
Hot Wheels Retro E Christine. Threw it in there to tie into the April Fools video.
I never get tired of redline restorations. My absolute favorite ones to restore. I will have some coming out next week
Thank you, looking forward to it!
QR codes are a great tools.
Nicely done sir.
Thanks!
I love the deora, I have one in purple in my collection
Thank you!
I'm surprised the Redline shop doesn't sponsor some of you restoration guys in the US?
He is right. Those paints are amazing. And the parts are top notch.
They may if we were to ask but the products are just awesome. Plus they really don't have any competition. Ha!
"I got this tip from baremetalHW" - what is this? A crossover episode?
Nah, just gotta give credit where it's due!
7:00 PlastX works great on various motorcycle parts/items as well. I use it on nearly all my restorations in some manner.
Awesome, I'll have to try it on some more stuff in the garage :)
The Deora looks great, congratulations!👍
Thank you!
This is a great hobby. Thanks I'll be getting into this soon.
One of these just come up for sale local to me for £30 which is around $40 is that a good price?
The Deora is rare.. and to find them with the original surfboards is even rarer
Hmm.. What condition? I paid $10 shipped for this one.

Thank you so much Graham!
The Black magic really looks good on the cover ! Good video, great car.
She’s back! Classy Deora!
:) Thanks!
Nice restoration on the Deora, well done!...Bill
Thanks Bill!

that truck is so cool! awesome job! Love the video like always!
Thank you as always Oliver!
Love it, man! Thanks for making my Friday even nicer! Hope you’re having a good one! Awesome result
Thank you AA!
What does your paint booth consist of? I'm thinking of trying my hand at doing custom cars too.
👍 awesome resto, the surfboards finish off the truck perfectly. Btw a little hand lotion goes a long way 😉
Thanks! Ha, actually the gloves I use have pre-applied powder to prevent sweating so it makes my hands look ashy when I yank them off.
Another great restoration!!!
Thank you!
Hi, does anybody know of a site like this, but with 1:43 scale models??

Thank you Weston! Yeah, Christine came back :)
What kind of acid are you using to clean the base?
Bob P I’d like to know as well ☺️
Here ya go amzn.to/2GmNo1l
My favorite of the redline series. And I saw the real truck. You get in from the front grill. No side doors.
Great video, and restoration. I really like the body of the Deora
Thank you!

@@WheelsNThangs ive ordered a camera and some other things to try and start, and thanks for the replies
@@redneckjoey9441 Let me know when you get going!
WheelsNThangs I sure will
Try using cling free. It keeps things from being dust magnets.

@@WheelsNThangs thanks for the response.. take care love your work.. ;) :D
89MATTEL. 👍
Looks wicked
Thanks Thomas!
Christine is lurking in the background... see, I told you she'd repair herself...
:)
It would make a good car to customize into a Ford Nucleon..it's physically similar
Agreed, the hardest part would be making the reactor for it I reckon.
That model was in my first HW set. I believe the Mustang was the other Redline.
I'll eventually have a Mustang on here :)
Good job regards from México
