- #ilovervlife #RVmattress @BrooklynMattress THE MATTRESS GIVE-AWAY MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO ENDED MAY 24, 2021. Joan and I know why so many RV’ers are looking for a better bedding solution and it’s simple, most RVs have terrible mattresses as equipped from the factory. We have been looking for a better mattress and didn’t want to settle for “just something different”. Joan and I had hopes the new RV Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding would offer a more comfortable sleeping experience. We have to admit, the new Brooklyn Aurora RV mattress we tested exceeded our expectations.

Thanks for the video! We recently upgraded our 5th wheel and tonight will be the maiden voyage. I already know the factory mattress will be uncomfortable. Your video gave me something to consider for a mattress upgrade. We signed up for your newsletter. Thanks so much for all of your content. Happy and safe travels.
Have fun in the 5th wheel. And good luck in the drawing.
Thank you so much for helping us all find a good mattress ☺️
Always glad to share Bonnie. Glad we had the opportunity.
Hello Jerry and Joan! Looks like a great product. Just signed up for the newsletter. It’s time to start thinking about summer Rving. Can’t think of a better way than to start out with a new mattress!!😁 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. We're heading out soon. And a great nights sleep now too!
I’m so glad you posted this today. We have bought a new camper and the mattress is awful and we have been trying to decide what to do or get. I’ve had two back surgeries so I told my husband I have got to have a good mattress to wake up happy 😂. We enjoy watching your program. It helps us a lot. Thank you and Happy Camping. The Bales from Alabama
Hi Bales. Joan too has had a number of back surgeries along with some of the residual issues that follow. Like me, she was amazed at the comfort and support. This one we tested was the Aurora.
We just replaced ours this past week, after several years of trying different things, we put in a r5 by Sleep Number (RV king). Tried it out this weekend and got the best sleep ever in our RV.
Great tip. Don’t do like Joan and I did and try for a couple years to make it better. There’s great options for the RV.
We just installed a Brooklyn full Queen in our camper.. and you’re right, that mattress is HEAVY !! Funny because we looked like you guys when we made our bed !! 😂
That’s great. Bed making in a 5th wheel can be a team effort.
That’s the best job of making a bed in an rv I’ve seen.
Haha! Thanks Mark. It’s quite the process.
One of the first things we replaced when we got our camper 5 years ago. We went with a memory foam & it’s ok but not great. Shopping for a new rig now & im sure the mattress will be first thing to go.
Danny, we held out thinking we could add to it and make it better. Wrong! This new mattress is something. Still can't get over how comfortable it is.
I totally agree with the various foam mattress comments you made. Our fifth wheel now has an innerspring residential mattress and I really like it. We got a full size queen. Now our truck camper needs a new mattress; takes a full size queen. We have to be careful with mattress height though. Thank you for this review. I checked out their website.
MJ, they have various heights and comfort levels for the various mattress.
Nice this will be my next thing to get for our camper
Thanks Raymond. The new mattress has made a huge difference. I only wish we would have replaced sooner.
We are currently sleeping on a brick of a mattress. Right now we have put on a 3-inch foam topper and that seems to help a little but we know we are eventually going to need a new mattress! Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
Glad we could share. That was our last route too with the foam plus a pillow topper. We fought that for the past year.
Great, informative video! Thanks! See you on the road!
Thanks Robin. We hope so.
We replaced ours with a Denver Doctor's choice mattress, and really like it.
Great video and review. We are RV newbies and it has certainly been a challenge to make our mattress more comfortable. It is tolerable with the gel foam topper, but definitely not like our mattress at home.
Thanks Crystal. We went the route of a gel topper for a while. Ok at first, but it was like we were stuck in the bed. We tried too many types of toppers. Wasn’t sure about a new mattress, now wish we had replaced earlier. This Aurora really comfortable.
She must love you a lot to let you wear your shoes on the bed. Great review.
Thanks. And that she does!
I purchased the Hybrid Signature queen for the house. They had a Memorial Day 25% discount, so can't wait to get it in. When I upgrade my RV I will consider getting an RV mattress.
We're really enjoying our Brooklyn mattress.
Wow you sound just like Tim Cook the CEO of apple . Thanks for the video
It’s that Georgia drawl. He’s a Georgia Tech grad. May have the voice, but at substantial less pay. Great to hear you enjoyed the channel.
You cracked me up with "getting rid of the brick"! Those RV standard mattresses are just that...bricks! We've tried everything...foam, memory foam & gel toppers (definitely better but lower back & hips still hurt in the morning). I love the built-ins on either side of the bed! Did those come standard or did you make those (good use of space especially with no side table like ours)? Best of luck with the new bed!!!
Thanks Gina. We went the foam, gel, etc route too. We threw to much money away with failed efforts. The built-ins are very common with most of the Heartland 5th wheels. Handy. The new mattress has been great.
We're getting ready to live fulltime in our RV and really need a new mattress.
Go to our website at www.iLoveRVlife.com. Click the Brooklyn Bedding icon. There’s great descriptions for each of the 4 styles with sizing and comfort information. Discounts too. Plus, they currently have a 120 day risk free trial.
We just replaced ours with a purple mattress. We need to get it broke in like with most new mattresses but so far we like it.
Thanks. We were surprised there was no break-in with this mattress. Very comfortable on the first night.
You have a fantastic website, thanks so much for the information! 🗺 Happy trails 😁
Thanks a bunch..
Just so everyone understands about RV Mattress. Their 30 day in-home guarantee means you HAVE to use their mattress for 30 days before they will accept a return. We ordered the medium firmness just like in this video. For us it was incredibly HARD. My husband is disabled so it is paramount to get something else with his pain level. RV Mattress refuses to allow us to return this mattress. We full time so we do not have room for 2 mattresses so we have to use this thing for 30 days until we can get our $1000 back. Not trying to bash the company but want people to understand what they're getting into before they place their order. If we had known this we would have never bought from this company.
Great video. We are brand new RV’er and just ordered a mattress upgrade. Hopefully we can win this one and we will use ours in the guest room. We love your videos!
Thanks a bunch. Good luck in the drawing.
My rv life need a new mattress like these
They are very nice mattresses. Go to our ilovervlife.com website and click the bedding icon to see the different styles they offer.
I really wanted this mattress but I don't want to wait 6 weeks to get it so I canceled it and went with the Layla hybrid mattress.
Just ordered a Purple mattress for our queen bed in the travel trailer. The width is the same but it will overhang by about 5 inches in the front. No big deal for us.
Sure could use a good night sleep 💤
We understand.
Hi, Jerry long time no see. I don't have an RV at least not right now but if I did I would definitely get that mattress.
Thanks Ty. Time to hit the brother. We'll be looking for you.
wow you suffered, i didn't sleep on my RV garbage pad even for one night, gave it away. Brooklyn titan all the way, the only problem is no short queen. i don't care that it hangs over, cut a new piece of ply. coil spring is the only way to go and the titan is the way for heavy people. you should have got a split king though, easier. they have an outlet store where they sell a basic short queen for 300 bucks that cant be beat. oh and I've had my titan now for 6 years and still perfect.
They are great mattresses.
I was super impressed with your video/ comments and checked out the Brooklyn Bedding website....after an online "chat", I learned that their mattresses are not compatible with murphy beds (which is what I have in my Class B+)....guess I keep looking....p.s. they have a site wide sale now on :)
Well shoot Jody. I’m sorry to hear that. Hope you’re able to find something else suitable.
I need a new mattress too. I have a Murphy bed in a class B+.
Donna, it should be one of the standard bedding sizes. Go to www.iLoveRVlife.com and click the Brooklyn Bedding icon on the home page. The 4 styles of bedding are show along with features, the various comfort levels, and sizes for each.
that was the first thing we did when we got our first rv, replaced the mattress.
Good move. We should have. Going to be much, much better now.
So great that this came up today...We are ready to replace ours...and were thinking of a topper...so glad to hear your comments...You both you seem to have the same issues we do...Which mattress did you get exactly??
Hi Lisa. Yes, we too fought so many toppers and gave up. We went with the Aurora. It has the inner springs and extra foam layers.
@@iLoveRVlife Thank you...I have a feeling....We will be ordering one....Big trip coming up...and cannot wait for lady luck...lol...GREAT INFO...
Good luck with the drawing
we have the same bedroom layout in our Gateway. hard as hell to make the bed.
Making the bed in our Gateway is an event. Thank goodness for good knees.
Hi Jerry. I have two questions. Did you increase the struts on your bed for this heavy mattress, and have you compared this brand to Wilderness? Thanks
Hi Nan. The struts were strong enough to handle the weight. We haven’t tried the Wilderness. We’re very happy with the Brooklyn Mattress.
How do we choose one for a Murphy bed which is not a standard queen size.
Hi Angie. Here’s a link for one of the 4 Rav mattresses. rvmattress.com/products/brooklyn-arctic?variant=32523156291631 Go to the Frequently Asked Questions section. There’s a link that shows the various sizes.
Which mattress did you get? I don't see it written anywhere here. I am looking at Brooklyn bedding also as an rv bed. Other mattress reveiwers talk about this mattress having hardly any gass off because it is made in the USA and not China.
We got the Aurora Hybrid. Love this mattress, zero gas off, and US made. Check out our full right up at www.ilovervlife.com/a-great-rv-mattress-by-brooklyn-bedding/. We have each RV mattress listed with links to the site.
Do you know if they make mattresses for Rockwood Roo Hybrid bed ends?
I don’t. Go to the website. The have a chat function that’s helpful.
Hey there folks, was wondering if you chose the premium one from BB?
Hi Mike. In the Gateway we previously owned, we had the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Hybrid. This is great mattress in medium firmness. Very comfortable. Unfortunately, we couldn’t use in the new Montana due to it 14” height. Our bed frame is to tall and it made it difficult for Joan to get in and out of bed. The Signature series has many of the same features with a few inches less foam. We’ve been very pleased with both.
That is my FIRST thing is to get a new mattress.
We were stubborn and tried to make existing work. Dumb move on our part. Threw money away and still had a crummy mattress. Amazed how much nicer this mattress is over the original.
just registered, i hope we win, we really need a new rv mattress. we've tried many pillowtops and gel and the mattress is still uncomfortable, been thinking of getting a new one for a while now. thanks
Us too. Tried so many toppers and it just didn’t make the mattress better. Sometime worse. Good luck in the drawing.
Did it have that strong formaldehyde smell?
No odor at all. We finished setting in place late afternoon and slept on it that night..
Congrats on the new bed. I have no doubt you will love it. We have a similar Hybrid (Coils and foam combo) in our RV and we liked it so well we bought one for our home. Just my opinion but having the coils and the foam is a necessity when you're on a plywood base. We have storage under our RV bed so I did have to upgrade the struts from 80 pound struts the RV came with to 120 pound struts. They still won't hold the bed up by themselves but the lift is much easier now and we use a 2X2 to keep the bed propped open when we need to get something from the storage area.
Agree Rob. The hybrids coil over foam is the fix for these plywood based bed arrangements. Our gas struts have never done the job. I’ll have a video soon where I’m replacing with 300lb 12v dc actuators so Joan can access the storage.
My hubby just said " That will add a lot of weight"..The regular King says 130lbs...So RV King would be a little less....Hmmm
No issue with the weight for us. Max weight for ours is 145. We’re under total limit for 5th wheel. We’ll trade a few more pounds for a good night sleep.
@@iLoveRVlife Me too!
@@iLoveRVlife I hope he comes to that conclusion also....Idk where we are with weight on the 5th Wheel...i guess everyone should go thru the scales at some point...this is our 1st full season in this rig...We upgraded from a pull behind...A trip out to Yellowstone showed us we needed more storage...lol...thx for the info.
We need a new mattress for our cougar 5th wheel..and by the way Joan you look so great..have you lost weight if so how did you do it.❤
From Joan. Yes I have! Thanks for noticing.
@@iLoveRVlife your so welcome❤
I’ve learned that a good mattress can make a great vacation. A new mattress is one the shortlist of improvements when we get our new camper. Thanks for sharing.
So true Kevin. And it was the easiest upgrade we’ve done so far.
Which mattress do you have?
We have a Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Hybrid. There’s 4 types in their RV mattress line, plus they make these in most of the popular RV sizes. Here’s a link if you would like to visit the site rvmattress.com/
Great informative video. Please keep us updated on how it goes. Love your content!
Thanks a bunch. The mattress is great.
Which of the four types did you actually receive and test?
Arthur. There are 4 types, but as shared in the video, we only tested the Aurora. See our blog at www.iLoveRVlife.com for more information.
@@iLoveRVlife ... Thanks. Gives a little more perspective when viewing the images on their site.
Hope that helps.
I have been watching your videos for several years and just signed up for the newsletter. :) The mattress looks and sounds amazing
Thanks a bunch for watching and signing up. The new mattress is a jewel.
Hey Jerry 👋, how's your mattress working out for you after a month of use? We are on the market for a new mattress.
It’s great Danny. Wish I’d made the change sooner.
Sorry, I asked the question before I heard the answer. Had bad experience with some of these mattresses.
Good question. And that a problem with some mattresses. No issues on this one.
So I also have an RV king but it measures out to 70x80 and Brooklyn's RV king is 72x80. Looks like I will be needing a custom size. Anyone else have the same size as mine? I sure would love a new mattress for my new 5th wheel.
You have an RV King. I checked Brooklyn’s size chart and they have this size.
I take it you purchased the Aurora model?
John, we do have the Aurora Hybrid.
Still liking the mattress?
Love it!
@@iLoveRVlife Thanks, We just got our first RV and the mattress is a rock.❤
I know. Terrible things. We tried a foam topper. Then a gel topper. Next a hybrid foam and pillow top. Nothing made it better. Should have saved our money and bought a quality mattress at the start.
@@iLoveRVlife Your vid might have saved us a bunched, and there is store not far from us.👍If you ever make to AZ don't hesitate to to look us up
Thanks a bunch. Hope to be nearby late spring next year.
As I write this, you have had your Brooklyn for about six weeks now. Any lower back issues?
None at all John. Ours is medium and the sleep experience is exceptional.
This mattress is ridiculously over priced. And l have seen many You Tubers bribed with either a low price or free mattress to imply this mattress is a gift from heaven. I have learned some great things from your channel and will continue to be a subscriber…but really.
