    Visited Bryson City, Helen, and Blue Ridge a couple of weeks ago. We stayed in Murphy, NC and found their best kept secret. Field of the Woods. This place was amazing. If you have not seen it, you should. Check out the website. Thanks for all you've shown us.

    I ❤️ the Smoky Mountains! I have family who lives about 15 miles from Pigeon Forge so as you can probably guess I’ve been coming to the area since I can remember, we still try to visit at least every couple of years. I remember growing up there wasn’t a whole lot to Pigeon Forge, it certainly wasn’t full of all the tourist trap shops/attractions that fill the strip between it and Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg was simply the little town right before you entered the park but it was still such an amazing place to visit. My Aunt worked for the Park in Cade’s Cove until she retired 15 years ago so we had a lot of insider knowledge of what to do and when within the park itself! I used to love the serenity of Cade’s Cove and it’s abundant wildlife now it is so congested (as is the rest of the park 😪) we rarely drive the loop but when I was little we spent so much time there! I’m so glad to see all the wildlife becoming more and more prevalent again, we almost always seen a bear and the herds of deer/moose were everywhere then they seemed to disappear for many years... There’s few places as beautiful, even if severely congested with traffic, than Smoky Mountain National Park and no matter how many times we visit it always feels like we’re coming home not just visiting 💗💗💗.

      Hi Stephanie. This is a favorite of ours too. We started going in the mid 70's and remember how few folks would come up especially during Thanksgiving. We're figured some of the crowd formula. Early mornings, mid week and watch the festival calendar. Fun place to go.

    Boy Jerry when you showed the berries I wanted to grab them off that table. Darnell farms will be a must stop. The Deep Creek rafting looks like so much fun. See Darnell Farms on the Tuckasegee River. Have you stayed at any of the camp grounds along there. Tuckasegee RV Resort, Bear Hunter, Country Girl??? None look as secluded as Deep Creek but they look like nice views of the river. Thanks....

      Thanks. Haven’t tried the campgrounds mentioned. Another one on W. Deep Creek Rd is Deep Creek Tubing and Campground. Nice lots, on the creek, but popular and can be a little difficult to reserve certain times of the year.

      Thanks Liz. Those special moment. There was a sweet almost cinnamon scent while we walked through the area. Wish I could have bottled it. Maybe the Laurel or just a mix of the mountains.

    Well I think you should do your homework, about the RTNW, they didn’t run out of money. The road was to let the people that the government force to move from there homes and farms, when they built the dam to send electric power to TN. for the war. There are towns under water in the lake. The deal was to build a road out there to let the family’s go visit the Cemetery’s that are still out there. Before the FEDS got the road build, the state of NC build state road 19, out around the lake, in the other area. So the FED’s never complete the road. The cost to complete the road today is close to 100 billion dollars. And the EPA wasn’t to happy about it either.

    North Central Lower Pennisula Michigan has free roaming protected elk. Three family members poached three elks... 30 days in jail each; $5000 fine for each elk; lost of hunting rights for 15 YEARS... I wished they got a year in jail!!

    Hi, this is my first time watching one of your videos. I was researching Bryson City area and the neighboring towns. I am hoping to discover more of this area next week. I already had The Road to Nowhere and Deep Creek area on my list, so I was happy to see these places in your video. I specifically have questions regarding tubing. I like the area that you all were at. It seems from the comments that it was inside your campground area... I hope to find a place to try this on our own, but not sure about locations to enter and exit the water. Can you tell me how far downstream you are able to travel and is it all pretty calm water?
    Thanks :)

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  4 роки тому

      Hi Katrina. So glad you found us. Don’t fret for places to rent tubes or you can bring your one. Several daily tube rentals places are at the entrance to the National Park. There are long and short floats in the Park and plenty of place to park your vehicle. Easy to find, well marked and follow everyone else. Bryson City is quaint. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Cherokee is a few minutes away. Spend a day and enjoy the Oconaluftee Indian Village ua-cam.com/video/uL8pwYLGrXk/v-deo.html and the Cherokee Museum.

      No bears this go around Michele. And no problem renting tubes. Several spots at the entrance of the National Park. But, you can bring your own too.
