- We love almost everything about our RV...but the original mattress was not one of those things. A memory foam topper helped for a while, but it still wasn't the best solution. We knew it was time for a real solution, so we started our research and ended up with a new mattress from Wilderness RV. We purchased a Montana Hybrid plush mattress and this video shows our process of unpacking and gives our first impressions. We'll provide more updates soon, but first....let's sleep on it! :)

It's fun watching the mattresses grow. I bought one from IKEA recently and it was rolled and strapped. It was like a suspenseful show, the whole family watching it spring out flat.
No doubt! :) We were the same way. Crazy how they can get it compressed into the small package.
Love it and made here; Shopping and our cell phone hears us; that's why you two appeared .. And like you guys..

I subscribed we took delivery of our TT Feb 5th, Surveyor Legend 19Bhle with a full size queen. We wanted a 12V fridge, residential queen and heat tank warmers, oh and big windows. This particular TT came with it all.
When we moved in to our 5th wheel for full-time living, we just took our Tempurpedic Allura king from the house. That was a tough job because it was so heavy and has no grab handles. It's held up for 10 years now. But the time will come to make a change and I believe we will look at either a full latex mattress or a latex over coils hybrid.

You're gonna love it! We have that exact mattress from Wilderness. 👍Had to replace that stock RV mattress because it was so terrible that it was causing lack of sleep. We got the pillows from Wilderness too. New subber😀

When we bought our TT, the first thing we did was buy a new mattress. We bought the Denver Mattress. Boy was that a mistake. It only lasted about 15 months before it had a trough on each side and a ridge down the middle. Ugh! We did some research and we have purchased the Wilderness Plush also. We are waiting for delivery this week. Can't wait. Thanks for the great review.
Sorry to hear that you didn't like the Denver Mattress, but I'm pretty sure that you will love the one from Wilderness RV. We wish we would have done it even sooner. We just got back from another camping trip and talked (once again) about how much we are liking the mattress still. Good luck and happy camping!

After one year of using this mattress we are very disappointed. It has been replaced once from Wilderness and now a year later have pits or low spots. Going to sams club to replace this.
That is good to know. Perhaps you got a bad one. We have used ours now for three years and continue to be happy with the purchase. We would definitely make the same buying decision again. Good luck!
I know this is 2 years old... but how is the mattress? Has it held up? Comfy as you hoped?

@@TodayisanAdventureDay oh thank you so much. It's a much needed purchase. Ours came with a Sealy mattress that was good for the first 9 months. A year later it has broken down. As we expected it would.

Because we have a new rig now that required a queen mattress, we went with a Brooklyn Bedding mattress and have a new review video. We love it!
So how was it after 100 days? Would you still choose a plush? Some reviews on this mattress have indicated they would step down to a soft.
Great question. Yes, we would still choose the same level of cushion. My wife actually wishes the mattress was slightly more firm, but it is perfect for me. Ultimately, we are happy with our choice.

@@cathyconrad3198 Hi, we debated for a long time and in the end we went with the Costco one. We were concerned that returning this one 'could' be challenging because you have to find a charity to take it to which can be hard. We love Costco because you can return anything forever! It was less than $500 also! We have done two trips on it, probably totaling 15 nights, and like it so far, no issues at all. I have never slept on memory foam mattresses before so was concerned I would not like them but have been very happy with this one. It is very different than my home mattress which is a sleep number. Frankly hard to say which one I like better, but they are different. I would buy the Costco one again, that I can say. I like the price! I like I can still return it if I change my mind at some point. It was heavier. It weighs 70ibs I believe. I think the old one was more like 30-35, but I'm just guessing on the weight of the old one. Hope that helps, good luck. Mattresses are very personal and hard to get right I think.
@@winstonprather1582 Thank you for this helpful info!! Yes, finding the right mattress is definitely a challenge!! We have a very expensive latex mattress at home, we would not buy another. I like the idea of the hybrid, and it gets alot of great reviews...decisions, decisions!! Safe travels!!
Can you still lift the bed platform with ease ? I am 99% there on getting it just worried about the weight of the mattress and being to heavy to lift the underneath platform

Yes, you can lift the bed. No, it is not with ease. The gas shocks are not strong enough to hold up the mattress platform on its own. I have to use my shoulder to keep it propped open as I grab things under the bed. I need to keep a small pole that I can use to prop it up, but I have not done that yet. We absolutely love the mattress!

6 months in, do you like the mattress?
We are still loving it quite a bit. We had another camping weekend and we even talked about how well we slept. We would highly recommend it!
Do you find it hot like memory foam can be? My gel infused cooling topper is even hot in the hot months so I'm worried about still having that issue. 😞
I also hate the squishy feeling of memory foam. Does it feel like a regular mattress even though it has 2" of memory foam on the top? 🤔

It is a hybrid mattress, so part memory foam and part "traditional" spring mattress. They have three different levels of softness. We got the medium, which was actually a little firmer than I was expecting. There is some squishy feeling, but as I said...not as much as I expected. If you don't want to sink in at all, they have a firm option. Good luck!
@@TodayisanAdventureDay mattress softness is a different feel from memory foam squishiness. I had a lovely pillowtop mattress in my house. Leaning towards the pillowtop wilderness because I love that feel. I just hate the feeling of memory foam. 😞
In case anyone reads this, I received the montana hybrid pillowtop and it is amazing. It definitely feels like a spring mattress as opposed to memory foam and the top is SO soft, but I don't wake up sore anymore. It's so luxurious. 😊
It's a lot heavier than my stock mattress though, so anyone who is already pushing their weight limits will have to trim in other areas to make the switch. I'm going to get weighed on my way out next time... 🤞
@@ubergigglefritz Thank you for commenting on the weight. We are looking at getting this mattress, and I am unable to find the weight on the website or anywhere else. We are pushing our payload limit as well (should have gotten a 1 ton instead of 3/4!!)
