Your vibe is perfect for having a drink together and mocking extravagant hyped food😂😂😂
I am suprised that table cloth didn't get cleaned up between courses . It's a little detail I've noticed .
Ofc the best dish wad the foie Gras. It's a beautiful ingredient. Always delicious.
“John-Jorge-is” - c’mon man.
who cares dude
That's how its pronounced, young buck.
@@TheDentist29 All I'm saying is, it's not a huge deal how he pronounces it.
For real man
this placed is so hyped i am so glad you were honest
you clearly don’t care about or appreciate this level of cuisine (which is fine), but you keep criticizing things just because you admittedly don’t get it (“i guess i just don’t have fancy taste buds” etc.). and they literally explain every course but multiple times you’re like “uh, what is this? duh, i don’t know.”
it’s kind of pointless to review something that you obviously went into with a negative opinion and are just trying to justify that opinion to yourself.
Well people do it all the time when eating food that is not western european.
What should he "get"??
How can anybody take this guy seriously? Comes to this restaurant looking like a slob, poor table manners, eating like it's Taco Bell. Butters his bread like he's at a BBQ joint in Mississippi.
@@marioc63 fine dining, should be able to be impress withour expecting it, no?
If im already assuming to be Blown away, how do i kno if i was more impressed by the atmosphere or the food?
At the same time, i get your point. If you ONLY like chef boyardee, you probably arent the most reliable source.
more likes than the video...
You should have gone for the cheaper course. It had the egg toast.
Great video
Keep going strong 👍
Thank you so much for this video. Nothing like I expected. Not gonna lie I would be pissed if I spent my hard earned money on that place 😂 so glad we got to eat vicariously through you ❤
Bruh, cut up your food smaller 😂
😅
where did you get that wonderful fried chicken from?!!
B.b.q chicken
I love the way you were viewed it very honest I honestly have to say I kind of figured that but I’m so curious I would like to try it but I feel like I’m satisfied enough with your video thanks guys I appreciate it keep them coming
Time wise, how long is this dinner?
spent around 2hrs there
Their dress code has laxed during these new times. Still the most beautiful dining room in New York City. Thomas Juul Hansen def set a gold standard here as did chef.
on one hand if he didnt film it we wouldnt see it but why do people film their food on their camera's and why do restaurants allow it ? as for dresscode ? well people dress like they are going to mcdonalds lol
Post more Audi R8 videos! Is your car a v8?
yes V8
You don't need to have a palate. To appreciate these places. Did it taste good? That's a that really matters
3 dishes out of the 10 tastes great. 7 were like meh to bad
Jackets weren't required?
no
Orders Kirsch dessert, hates the taste of Kirsch
How long was the dining experience start to finish?
about 2 hrs
I paused it just so I can make an early prediction. No, it's not worth it unless you've got money to waste.
Exclusivity in dining places is what you would be paying for. It's called the "Hoity Toity Tax".
You compare wagyu, lobster, foigra etc to mc donalds
Great video! Glad you used McChicken as a scale of reference :)
extra mayo
6 course is better. Has the egg toast and tuna noodle dishes
I've been. So good
There’s liquor in the dessert that’s why you hate it
ah that might be it
tbh id rather go to ctown and get some tres golpes and mangu
So sorry, but with all the noise from the other customers, we can't hear the waiter describe the dishes.
400 $ for everything or 800 $ and u guys went dutch ??? 50/50 ??
$400 per person
Just spent 150 bucks on dim sum feeding family of 4. No Michelin just good o fashion Chinese brunch that makes me want to visit again. This looks cool but 400 bucks for 2 hours are something you just cannot get back... if not 100 percent satisfied. I watched other videos of Jean-Georges and I just knew this is the most honest review. I used to go out with friends spent 200 bucks on 8-course French meals, and I remembered nothing. When food is forgettable you would know the chef failed to impress, no matter what the 'professional' critics say. Thank you for saving me the $$$ on food and flight tickets.
haha yea I also went to this other michelin 2-star that I thought was worth it. So personally I think the food here just didn't suit my tastes.
Half of y'all are wild. You give that fried chicken at the end to any of those chefs in the restaurant and they will say its amazing. If someone walks into a restaurant in a plain white t shirt and some basketball shorts mind your business
I don’t have the pallet, sophistication, not patience for this type of dining and that’s fine. I wouldn’t go to these places out of knowing my social limitations. I would rather spend a tenth of the price and get filled up on quality food. Like steak shake.
Yep never again for me 😂
Dont use the word" sophistication". Ur confusing it for luxury. By all means a regular old McDonalds is more sophisticated in terms of innovation and influence
I rather take the 300 mc chickens !
Did anyone else notice the thumb straight in the bowl on course 3? Come on JG, that's why you only have 2
He was wearing a latex glove. Relax, snob.
What a weird way to admit you don’t pay attention lol.
I'll take a bone-in ribeye over this anyday.
Same!
@@RogerCui Matter if fact, I'm having one tomorrow. Don't know if I want Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn tomorrow. Either way, I'll be satisfied!
Yeah the food tastes weird 😕, not worth the money...
I smoked a fat joint and took an escort-the matre d was a prick luckily i know the owner he was tickled to death when he saw my date lol
Sorry dude.
Zero etiquette.
Zero manners.
defiantly agree
definitely
I thought filming and taking pictures in upscale restaurants was prohibited. I wouldn't like having someone filming me from the next table.
nope totally allowed. The tables are spaced pretty far away
Um yeah, nobody cares what you think, and nobody wants to waste their camera on you anyway
😊
Would it kill him to at least wear a jacket and tie?
cmon theyre chinese
Freedom! They call it. As much as I like to dress properly, unless is ugly gucci logos and sandals, people should have a freedom to chose what they like to wear.
@@gdagsgfsagas7972 dude wtf
Not required to be worn there. check their dress code
Perhaps you should take smaller bites and chew your food to taste rather than stuffing your mouth. I was worried you would choke on the beef.
Your taste are you taste, so I am not going there. I would probably feel not worth it if I could not really afford it.
Go review Mac Donald's, I think it'l suit you better.
Wow 0 etiquette
Sorry not everybody is a rich white girl brat
Some people will be triggered..they fall more easily for the marketing..but trust your taste buds
A chefs ultimate job is to create delicious food thats hopefully not too unhealthy. However pretty the ambiance and plating, ...well it doesnt matter
Ok
The seasoning for chinese lobster preparación is usually more umami...and arguably more delicious than butter poached lobster
I’ve noticed the sweet spot is around $100 for a meal. Past that price the taste does not improve.
He seem to go there with intention of treating it like a joke. Plus he chews with his mouth open, like a cow, talks with his mouth full of a big wad of food and comments before he has full chewed the food.
damn, you are really pressed by how another person eats?
Yeah the food wasn't good for that price, I agreed with the 2 guy
a waste of time and money -
Honestly you dont need fancy taste buds to know milk and fish eggs dont go together 🤷🏻♀️
??
Taste is subjective so that makes no sense. It might taste weird to some, but for me it’s my favorite dish.
A lot of Europeans would disagree with you on that lol
@@diverman1023 No we wouldn't, were are you from?
I bet you prefer milk and bats huh ?
Place sounds like a high school cafeteria 👎
do not feed the trolls
that's why your dislike is so high
Looking from the perspective of a poor person, you cannot appreciate this meal course, so of course the price would not be worth it for you. When you don`t have enough money, your focus is primarily utilitarian & so factors such as food aesthetics, presentation, journey (the 10 dishes and the thought put into preparing them sequentially for your pleasure and sensation), all of this can be seen and enjoyed better by a person who does not have to rely on a daily wage to survive. You go to this restaurant for pleasure, not to get stuffed with unhealthy fried chicken wings ( the ones at the end of the video looked greasy as shit)...
Dude wtf.
This is horrible.
I'm not triggered. By the way you act, maybe you should reviewing ramen shop or street food. If I were you, I won't go there and wasting $400 for food that I don't understand, for environment that I don't fit. That's prove, that restaurant is in another level. And, it isn't for you.
Shirt, really? Etiquette out the window. Elbows, arms. Hard to take you guys seriously. Chomping on oversized bites. Handling the utensils so poorly. To make your $400 worth itX learn to pronounce the French. George-iss, Foy-graw…? Of course, the cameras I’m sure ruined all the other guests’ experience. (But appreciated here, that you managed to sneak it in. I suppose.) Hard to watch this being indexed afterward by McNugget’s. It’d be tough to watch you guys watch good film, or experience quality music, or nuanced architecture… or maybe we actually should watch you do that, just to see if your level of appreciation is consistent. I agree with above. If you go in, ready to bash… then it’s over. You should watch Susur Lee. A top chef, who can understand foie-gras and hot dog mustard. He gets it. And go watch Jean-Georges and Kimchi Chronicles. He gets Korean food also… Watch Adam Ragusea, who can open up your minds and palettes. Anyway…. Appreciate you guys sharing. But do another one, and I’d be willing to watch by your tastes, literally and figuratively, mature and expand. Thanks.
They didnt like it
Get over it.
The day you enjoy the texture of chicken feet, sea cucumbrer, and shrimp paste, ill listen to you.
Absolutely agree! Dude needs to at least wear a blazer and roll down his sleeves. Chows down the food like it's Taco Bell. Cannot take this guy seriously.
@@00Julian00 Are you Roger’s secret lover or something? Because you are all over this comment section saying the same shit over and over again. He doesn’t need you rushing to his defences. xD.
@@wallysworld8380 hahaha, noo im not
Yeah i did go overboard, but i stand by wat i said. 😉
I COMPLETELY AGREE. He doesn’t know what he’s doing
What a ignorant and downright disrespectful depiction of a truly great restaurant; it’s pretty clear you guys don’t have a clue.
GUESS UR TASTEBUDS ARE DESENSITIZED FROM TOO MUCH DOG BAT AND RAT.
McDonalds food represents to a large degree the technical sophistication of the American food industry. It was scientists at McDonald who researched and engineered sophisticated techniques to create the perfect french fry...McDonald thats implented sophisticated cookware to maintain food at consistent temperatures and as well utilized certain " chemicals" that achieved desired effects ( emulsifiers for instance)
Your confusing elitism ( Jean georges) for innovation and sophistication. Fusión food of Jean George????...(..MD did it before and better, with its expansión into múltiple countries.))french sauces that havent changed since the late 19th century France???
What is ur criteria???
Its more expensive?
Wat a superficial person u are. pathetic, u and ur ilk. Ur on a high horse, but fail to see where the true artistry lies
expensive dosent equal good
This is an example of two dopes with a camera.
Here's some tidbits of absolute truth:
1) don't go to any restaurant because of price or reputation.
2) don't attempt to offer critique on foods that you have never experienced or have no understanding of.
3) restaurants like this are not a dollar to dollar exchange for just what is on the plate. You will pay for the quality of the China, the glassware, the flatware, the linens, and everything
Stick to the Ramen bar and Wo Hops.
$400 dollars for a meal, but can’t afford an ounce of class. The word for taste buds you were looking for is palate lol.
