Watching him drive so carefully with a driver assisted six wheel drive crawler while I throw my dumb four wheel drive vehicle towing two trailers (one for manufacturing, one for nothing but fuel) is hilarious. :p Being able to carry small grid blocks is my most wanted feature for a hypothetical Space Engineers 2, right up there with more AI. The number of times I've salvaged a full battery but lacked a lifter to pick it up is maddening. Lol. That volcano would make an astounding place for a base.
One of the things I do is build an "oh crap" system. It consists of a timer block, a couple of small batteries, a beacon, and enough parachute blocks to safely stop your vehicle. You set the timer to deploy parachutes, turn on your beacon, switch the small batteries to auto, and turn off all other systems. You set a "trigger now" button on each tab of you quick bar. This has saved me many times when I accidentally drove off a cliff or was going to crash in some way. You might want to install something like that...
Quick tip. Open the chat and write the following: /gps inserttexthere Just found about it myself. Saves so much time and the hassle to open the control panel everytime you want a new GPS point. Love the series. Keep it up!
If you open chat, you can navigate to previous messages, and not need to retype them. Note, using the chat method ads a number after the identical gps names.

ROVER UPGRADE SUGESTIONS: 1. Build fenders over the wheels to give you a platform to stand on. And then placing a ladder up the side of the middle wheels since they don't seem to turn for steering. Should help with making repairs and future upgrades. :) 2. Laying down a layer of half armor blocks UNDER the solar panel to insulate/shield the things below from future hits. 3. Maybe adding two more wheels in the front that are angled up to prevent the cab from possible slamming into the ground when cresting or descending a steep ridge. (i.e. : when running away fast!) 4. Start upgrading armor to heavy armor in key areas: HYDROGEN TANK(!!), SURVIVAL KIT. I would suggest heavy half armor blocks with a layer of light half armor over it in those areas and double layer of light half armor in others. Layering the armor like this the light armor should act as ablative armor. (I think)
OH, One more thing: UPDATE your repair projection!! You've added a few things already and if they were to get hit, your current projection DOSEN'T contain them. So they are likely to not get fixed/reinstalled.
If you type in ingame chat /gps followed by whatever you want to call it it's the same as going to the menu and doing "create new from current position". Pretty useful feature when marking ore deposits. Also Re: Moving small grids there is a mod called "Manipulation Tool" on the workshop, it says [Deprecated] but does still work in SP. Two things, it's very strong and also very clangy if you have rotors. I have a modified version with reduced strength, still clangy, and clicking in the menu when you have an empty hand will try and move stuff resulting in explosions. It does mean you can make a handheld smallship weapons though, or carry a small grid warhead around.
32:15 - There is such a mod. It's called "GridPickupMod". You're limited to small grid, and only a few blocks, and you don't have a ton of control... but it's still incredibly useful. The unknown signals are just small enough to pick up.
It always bothers me when SE Players say 'I'm not gonna record the mining 'cause it's boring'. But it's Space Engineers! Mining is a core component of the dang game! Suggestion #1: As a way to deal with no Jet-pack; I would recommend starting farther away to come at it with a more gentle angle, if not horizontally, if you're on a slope. This would minimize faffing around digging more than one hole. I mean, I want to see digging with purpose, but there's no point in wasteful digging. Suggestion #2: Slapping down an Armor Block (just the frame) next to the entrance would act as an easy marker. Just grind it away when you're done (you'd only lose 1 Steel Plate with Aww Scrap). Suggestion #3: The drone could attach with a small grid Merge Block. This would be much lower profile and have a more stable connection, but it would make docking a bit more annoying/problematic.
