I know this is pre-recorded so for next time you fire up SE, a huge QoL feature you should look up is the Build Planner. Right-clicking with the welder on a block will load the items you need into the Planner, which you can then click on any cargo port attached to an assembler and it will automatically queue up those components. You can then use it to automatically pull those components into your inventory so you can go weld the block with all the required pieces. You can also use it to quickly deposit everything that isn't a tool/bottle/ammo. Highly recommend!
I start using the planner a bit later on in this series. I often avoid it early game because I find that it doesn't always work when trying to withdraw the correct resources.
One fast and easy way to process a *LOT* of stone quickly is to run a trench up a very steep slope with a funnel at the bottom made of armor blocks that will guide the rolling bits of stone into a collector attached to your refinery. After you have that, you just need to make the trench bigger and all of the stone you mine will roll right down into your funnel and be automatically processed. Cheers!

@@Rhadamant i always played with no wolves and spiders because they were annoying... ...and once wolves was able to fly to reach you 🙄 glad they fixed it!
a few tips -hold f while mining -wind doesnt care about surrounding terrain or the elevation. turbines cast a ray in six directions and as long as there are no obstructions within 6 blocks (and you're about 6 blocks high minimum), you will get full power out of them. I like to do it at 10 because even base numbers, but it doesn't really matter past six blocks. this is why you'll some times see wind farms staggered instead of side by side -i noticed you dont use the build planner. learn to use it with mmb. -third person view while mining stone is fine, but if you're gathering valuable ores, just dont. use first person instead. in 3rd person, youll hit stone and waste time and energy (or oxygen) mining stone you dont want, then have to manage your inventory getting rid of the stone you dont want to pick up. -you also didnt do any of the immediately available progression. grind down below hack (do not destroy) and then repair the landing gear, timer block, cockpit, h2 gen etc to get easy unlocks right out of the gate. also build a small grind cylinder to unlock all walls, conveyors, etc even for large grid -you can build a small grid small cargo crate without needing cobalt to unlock that group of blocks and their large grid counterparts -you can take the small steel tubes out of the parachute hatch to build a remote control. construct a quick gyroscope. enable the pods thrusters (i know your ship flipped over, but still, this works) and then sit in the seat. remote control into the ship and now you can fly VTOL-style to a better base building location. takes a few minutes of practice to get good at flying this way but once you get it, you get it forever, and its so worth learning how to do. -id build up a few of the armor blocks holding up your turbine stack in case you shoot at bugs and miss (like you almost did at 18:55). 1 damage is enough to destroy your whole power generation stack, so the bottom 3 blocks or so might be worth fixing up just in case -speaking of that, its cheaper to use interior wall blocks instead of armor panels. it takes 7 ingot to build one steel plate to lay one armor block but only 2 ingots to build one interior plate to lay one interior wall block. cheaper is better. -youll def need more than one wind turbine at the start. you can easily build five at once to produce over 1MW of power. one on top, then one sideways on each side of the top-most tower block. - 35:25 while searching for ore, dont stay on the ground. get up super high and look for degradations in the surface textures, or grounded meteors. ores will be under the discoloration sections. zooming around with your jet pack on the surface with your drill is wasting your time, oxygen, and h2 bottles. this isn't the "cheese way". this is how the game intended to tell you where the ores are.
100% of the content for this series is already recorded and nothing can be changed as a result, I state this in both the details, in the outro and as the pinned comment. With that said almost all of your tips are stuff I already know, and some of it is moot because my live viewers vote for how things progress, so if I am not building something specific its because it wasn't voted on and a lot of your tips are just about what I should or should not be building. My advice is just chill with the tips you spent a lot of time typing out stuff that either gets addressed soon and enjoy the series, but thank you for the effort anyway.

If you are going to mine on a mountain side.. Good idea to build a platform at the mouth of the mine with a lip on it. That can catch the stone and also give you a place to land and a lighted area to return to. I like to start with a 2 row deep 5 wide connecting to the rock face. Then a lip/rail 1 block high around the platform of 5... Later on can expand it to a proper landing area like 30x40 or so depending on your ship size/shape.

Always a fan of a good SE content. You might want to press Tab couple of times in the game. Cycles through HUD visibility modes and can hide that annoying tooltip on the right side.
100% of the content for this series is already recorded and changes cannot be made, there's a disclaimer about this in both the outro and the description.
“Down to my last clip (*magazine or mag for short)”
Aye
If you hold down F you will pick up rocks as you mine them, not all but most you can get
Aye
Is there a mod for airtight terrain? I don't play SE, just watch a few different people play and always wondered why it's a thing that you can't do cool cave bases without plating the whole interior.
I don't know I never went looking for such a mod
Love to see that series!
There is some info you could use:
-Minimim thrusters you need is 4 from my experience where steering isn't that anoying (up, sides, forward) you can use gyros as steering a bit like flying helicopter
- you can add mods midgame mod by Splitsie "Sneaky Sounds - Quieter Tools" is recommended not to get you eardrums poped

God, it's bee ages since I've played Space Engineers. First Discord server I ever joined was a Space Engineers server
Oh cool, so this is nostalgic for ya then?
@@Rhadamant yeah, a little bit, and then I remember that my favorite thing in the game is trying to make ships with interiors with small grids so I can get the level of detail I want and then burning out halfway through a build
Starting. That tree did not like you either.
Haha nope
SE seems like the kind of game where you either have 2 hours or 2,000
Indeed
man............ years ago there was a reskin mod for the spiders, making them into starship trooper arachnids.
Sounds cool
I don't play SE nor do I even own the game, but this looks pretty fun ngl.
It can be!
It can go up and down and tilt allowing it to move
Aye
perfect landing
TY
Hint: Alt + Middle mouse button drops what you mined into the survival kit without having to open it inventory.
I played this once ever
I think you did the chapters wrong because they are not showing up for me.
I did them correctly, but UA-cam bugged out and aren't showing them. You can still use the chapters I made by scrolling to the bottom of the description and click the time tags
Auto Ore pickup would fix that issue.
Adding mods to a series I created 8 months ago isn't quite the solution you think it is
Magazines*
Anyway very nice video, loved watching it
Aye yes you're right, thanks
Is this gonna be a series
The details are in the description
I saw after I commented
Easiest way to flip the vehicle is to dig under it. No wasted resources.
True, can be an easy way to do it provided the thing you are flipping isn't massive
@@Rhadamant I didn’t think about size lol. I haven’t built any ships yet just still building bases and learning basics but managed to flip that same vessel multiple times by digging under it
Uranus is full of diamonds.
Aye
well, technically you could control the thruster with the overrides, but that is just practically impossible, I've tried that some times, but is just a nope
Given the limited controls I'd imagine its possible, but would likely require scripts to do well enough to fly and at that point just get a gyroscope lol
@@Rhadamant oh yah, no gyros on the lander guess you can just float then hahahha
Yup, float only, if you try to pitch, roll or yaw you're in for a bad time @@Sworn973
I'm always shocked to see the default UI and lack of colorful icons.
Any time I play a game that's new to my channel I play mod-free
@@Rhadamant Yeah, that's what I usually do as well. Need to know what needs fixing before slapping a bunch of changes in place.
The colorful icons mod is just one of those that I put on every playthrough, since it makes the interface less drab. It's built into my default building worlds, so I forget that it's not part of the baseline game.
I have about 9000+ hours in on SE and have thousands more in other games.
Damn you got a lot of free time
You need the sneaky sounds mod
ok
What does it mean "Spiders drops resources"? D:
They die and you can loot them
@@Rhadamant i always played with no wolves and spiders because they were annoying...
...and once wolves was able to fly to reach you 🙄 glad they fixed it!
Flying wolves? Sounds fun! @@TheIceThorn
@@Rhadamantnot at all, you practically couldn't build because they used to tear everything apart with 2-3 bites.
wait when did they add spiders to space engineers?????
Years ago? I think at least as far back as 2020, but maybe even longer?
a few tips
-hold f while mining
-wind doesnt care about surrounding terrain or the elevation. turbines cast a ray in six directions and as long as there are no obstructions within 6 blocks (and you're about 6 blocks high minimum), you will get full power out of them. I like to do it at 10 because even base numbers, but it doesn't really matter past six blocks. this is why you'll some times see wind farms staggered instead of side by side
-i noticed you dont use the build planner. learn to use it with mmb.
-third person view while mining stone is fine, but if you're gathering valuable ores, just dont. use first person instead. in 3rd person, youll hit stone and waste time and energy (or oxygen) mining stone you dont want, then have to manage your inventory getting rid of the stone you dont want to pick up.
-you also didnt do any of the immediately available progression. grind down below hack (do not destroy) and then repair the landing gear, timer block, cockpit, h2 gen etc to get easy unlocks right out of the gate. also build a small grind cylinder to unlock all walls, conveyors, etc even for large grid
-you can build a small grid small cargo crate without needing cobalt to unlock that group of blocks and their large grid counterparts
-you can take the small steel tubes out of the parachute hatch to build a remote control. construct a quick gyroscope. enable the pods thrusters (i know your ship flipped over, but still, this works) and then sit in the seat. remote control into the ship and now you can fly VTOL-style to a better base building location. takes a few minutes of practice to get good at flying this way but once you get it, you get it forever, and its so worth learning how to do.
-id build up a few of the armor blocks holding up your turbine stack in case you shoot at bugs and miss (like you almost did at 18:55). 1 damage is enough to destroy your whole power generation stack, so the bottom 3 blocks or so might be worth fixing up just in case
-speaking of that, its cheaper to use interior wall blocks instead of armor panels. it takes 7 ingot to build one steel plate to lay one armor block but only 2 ingots to build one interior plate to lay one interior wall block. cheaper is better.
My advice is just chill with the tips you spent a lot of time typing out stuff that either gets addressed soon and enjoy the series, but thank you for the effort anyway.
its easy to outnumber somone in hours played in space engineers. i mean the achievement for 150 hours played is to this day a rare achievment on steam wich makes me big sadge. its a good game.
just checked: only 7.7% have 150+ hours in the game.
Its a sandbox game for the most part, many people require direction and creativity to enjoy sandbox games, I get why so few people have racked up many hours.
The audio is very slightly desynced from the video. It wouldn't be noticeable if there weren't a face cam heh.
Yup I know
Bugs?! SPREAD DEMOCRACY!!!
With bullets, right?
@@Rhadamant Yes sirrr

lol
oh idid not even see you in the corner becase of the bar was in the way
Tiny little me =]
Still can't get the aliens to spawn
Ok?
you realy gotta get used to using mods ^^, specifikally splitsie's quieter tools mod, couse that drill is loud, compared to the rest of the game audio
Anytime I play a new game I do not use mods
@@Rhadamantand that's actually fair ^^, but i will say this space Engineers thrives on it's modding comunity, and the mod i sugested actually does absolutely nothing to the gameplay it simply turns the volume down on the tools in the base game, making it better for streams ^^
Got a time machine? Because if not 100% of the content for this miniseries has already been streamed so if I added the mod now it would not make a lick of difference, lol
@@Rhadamant it was mainly if you were interested in making more content with SE ^^, but i see your point heh
If I return to the game I'll consider quiet tools =] @@Kunteki
I really like Space Engineers, but I feel like the interface leaves much to be desired. It's just so clunky and haphazard.
Yeah I agree
Add the Sneaky Sounds mod so you don't have to yell over the sound of hand tools.....
100% of the content for this series is already recorded and changes cannot be made, there's a disclaimer about this in both the outro and the description.
@@Rhadamant I'm giving you a future tip, not suggesting you invent time travel...
Haha thanks @@mrnobody2873
first person factorio belike
Yup?
Those are magazines not clips
Ok
you can add stuff to the build que by right klicking the object with the welder and then shift middle mouse on anny "connectec" inventory port and it will que all missing components. and u dont have to open menus to do a gps just press enter and typ /gps name of gps
I know
If you are going to mine on a mountain side..
Please read the description of this video, or better yet I'll paste here for you:
This series is a result of me streaming it in a marathon, all of the content has already been created for it and episodes will release roughly once per day. As such feedback cannot be incorporated, but if you have any questions for me let me know in the comments.
It took me 6 minutes of watching this video before I realized you had a webcam in the bottom corner. Too small dude, too small
The game has a busy UI its hard to find a spot that won't cover something important.
who cares? Do you need to stare at him?
oh no someone is upset that I gave feedback to one of their favorite creators regarding my own personal experience. Wow big boy right here@@bigbcor
Left side, just above helmet icon, I stream regularly and thats where I put my webcam and alerts. This game is really busy however if you are going to go through the effort of making sure you are on screen make sure that you are visible to a degree that it makes sense for you to be there. @@Rhadamant
EE now have npcs? since when?
i wanted real enemies loooong ago.
As far as I know they were added a long time ago
Great game but we spend too much time alone.
You mean you'd want a lot more NPCs?
@@Rhadamant no more interaction with players and not necessarily toxic. The servers are too small and the interaction is limited. It needs bigger lobbies and proximity chat
What's up
I dunno you tell me!
