@@Dagonius. Ironically I started a survival world and got too frustrated with it. I didn't feel that the content was that good So I'm going to learn on a creative world to help speed things up. Creative world video is half way recorded. Hopefully up this weekend.
@@OptimitchPrimeYTExcellent plan. Creative removes many unnecessary frustrations when you're just learning the ropes. Survival is GREAT, but it's like running before you know how to walk.

Survival, creative, pve, pvp, alone, with friends, so many Multitudes of mods for later on down the road. Hope you have an absolute blast.
Yeah, Space Engineers has a steep learning curve. The main barrier for new players is learning how the game mechanics work. I'd recommend watching the tutorials by Splitsie while playing in an open world.
@@ACrazyGuy318 it is I recently joined a few space engineers group on Facebook and they said the same thing. I did check Splitsie out definitely the best put together tutorials I've seen by far.
You can't go far wrong with Splitsie. 👍 Yeah, you'll learn the basic controls and mechanics, but you'll never run out of new ideas or stop refining your skills.
its really not that difficult tho but yea, if you misinterpret "press space to jump" as pressing all of the solar system to jump as he did, and then explain away your death by ignorance as "i guess you have to die there" and launching into space with your visor open in an un-pressurized cockpit, then, yea, you might be in for some trouble

1st of all congrats on being on suggested to watch for your first video! 2nd of all welcome to a new type of addiction. This game will take hours and days of your life without you realizing it as you learn the systems and decide what you wanna do all without much input from the game itself. Oy, that scenario is so painfully dated in so many ways. Still, as everyone will tell you, the learning curve is steep, and you have to start somewhere. Really, it's a great game, and it keeps getting better and better with each update. The player community is active and engaged, so you'll likely get more tips and advice than you can stand. 🤓

Space Engineers has a steep learning curve. But worth every minute. Watch Splitsie and others for great vids. He teaches a lot for Newbies. Been playing for better than 5000 hours. Oh and watch out for the game as it is a memory hog. Good luck and have fun
SE is very much a "make your own fun" game. For PVE you really need to look into encounter mods although the most recent update does help on that side. One thing some people do is enlist friends to play as "human NPCs" to generate an adaptive threat to some goal. For a good example you can check out Splitsie's current "Wrong Way Out" series, (although I wouldn't advise quite matching his level of restrictions, those are four very skilled players and includes one of the best rover builders in SE).
@@chakatfirepaw I'm kind of new to PC gaming altogether and have yet to use a single mod ever. I think I need to get a good grasp of the game and pump out vanilla content for a while before I start learning how mods work. But it is definitely something I will need to do in the future
I definitely discovered a few things by accident. And a few more from research. Most recently was dragging a row of blocks with Ctrl. If you know, what's the keys for dragging blocks but it mirrors what you build on the other side? Also i think there is another form of multiple block dragging/placement maybe.
Make sure you weld blocks all the way. They may CLINK and look complete, but you have to also add the rest of the components to give it more durability. Otherwise a smallest bit of damage can damage them making them not work. With your welder or grinder equipped, and looking at a block up close, on the bottom right of your screen there's a component window. This shows what you've added and what is needed to complete the block. Basic rule of thumb with welding it to keep welding until it doesn't let you anymore. I'm down for helping you out ingame if you ever need it. The learning curve of this game can be unforgiving. The most frustrating thing about the game is that you pretty much need to watch youtube tutorials on a lot of stuff to get the full experience and knowledge
Yeeeaaaaah. I was going to start a survival series but I felt it was such a flop for content. It was a neverending loop of collect ore for hours. play for 10 min then UA-cam some tutorials. I'm having a lot of fun playing survival rn.
To switch your toolbar loadout use the "G" menu. For example to put the new gun on the toolbar hit "G" and look for Character Weapons in the lefthand panel of the G menu.
