Really fun to collaborate with you, hopefully we can do some Chicago Collabs soon.It was an honor to be on one of the channel that really helped lift me through those boring 2020 stay at home days.
Thanks Jim and Harriet! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah we had a great time seeing Eric, and he also has a few videos posted on his channel of 1) me and Derek eating beignets for the first time and 2) He and Derek trying local New Orleans drinks! 🙃
I mean, they were awesome. I've actually had alligator before in NYC, but if you're new to trying it, I think that would be a pretty fun first alligator experience. 😀
I didn't either! I was really glad to talk to Eric so I could understand both New Orleans, as well as a broader picture of the whole state's culture. Made my visit so much more insightful!
The bugs down south really are something else, I swear some of them look like they're from another planet! Really well done video here, we've never made it to Louisiana, but have always wanted to explore more of what the south has to offer. Looking forward to seeing more content! Just subscribed, keep it up! :)
Haha yes! I’ve always wanted to explore more of the South in general. It’s the one area of the country that I haven’t spent much time in. Glad to connect!!!
That's good that you felt the weather wasn't too different for your visits! I used to live on the East Coast (NYC), so I know it can be pretty muggy in August there. I assume Philly is the same. Sounds like you did some great activities - how did you like the ghost tour??? Which tour was your favorite?
Yeah, the bug thing does not sound appealing! I laughed when Eric made the comment about bugs the size of bats... when I lived in San Antonio, I learned about South Texas bugs (VERY different than North Texas bugs!!!)... I once called pest control from the kitchen in my house and said "you need to come to get rid of the bugs in my house STAT... there are roaches in my kitchen the size of CATS!!!". The pest control guy laughed, and they came that day ;-)
Really interesting, especially with the comparisons of north and south Louisiana. Just goes to show that you shouldn't make assumptions about places that you visit. My idea of Louisiana is just the Mardi Gras one.
Never mind the pronunciation of place names in Louisiana I struggled in the US as with my accent any (English!) word beginning with the letters 'tu' makes a 'ch' sound so it's 'Chews-day' not 'Toos-day' for Tuesday. Me trying to order a tuna sandwich in the US, "Can I have a chew-na sandwich?" Response "you want cheese?" "No chew-na, chew-na, you know the fish" Blank stares in my direction, I ended up pointing to it!

@@MeansToTravel Cheers 🍻
Great video! Nice seeing Eric on the channel
Thanks Mark (and Terry)! We were delighted to collaborate with him and learn about Louisiana!
Haha, LOVED the Pace commercial clip! Of course I thought of that too, since I managed Tostitos Salsa back when that campaign was on TV ;-)
OMG yes thank you, I was worried no one would know where that reference was from 😂😂
Eliz, Eric B was a great collab and added a lot of depth!
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching! 😀
We use Tony Chachere’s in Arizona! Great video, you two!
We just bought some at the grocery store yesterday after watching it so much this week as I was editing - can't wait to try it!
From Kansas Tony's seasoning is used as often as black pepper in my house.
Sounds like a delicious kitchen!
We have both seasonings in Missouri!😊 We can't wait to visit in August!!💜
That'll be a fun trip, plus extra fun cooking with some New Orleans seasonings as you prep!
Great tips Eliz. Spot on. Love your friend😍 Sending you lots of love💖💖 Jim and Harriet . Richmond, Va.

haha, I thought Raising Cane's was Texas! oops!
They moved the headquarters to Dallas, but it started right off LSU campus.
@Magenta Otter Travels @Travel Adventures with Eric B nice! I just learned something new!
Nice share. Interesting and informative to watch. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, I will! And thanks for watching! 😀
Alligator tacos sound great!
I mean, they were awesome. I've actually had alligator before in NYC, but if you're new to trying it, I think that would be a pretty fun first alligator experience. 😀
So great to learn about Louisiana as the state. Didn’t know about the North / South difference
I didn't either! I was really glad to talk to Eric so I could understand both New Orleans, as well as a broader picture of the whole state's culture. Made my visit so much more insightful!
I used Tony's creole butter injection in my turkeys when I lived in New York. Also have it here in South Carolina.
Oh awesome I've never tried a creole butter, I'll have to look this up! 😀

The weather checking is a good piece of advice to most places! Except maybe LA and Hawaii, lol
Haha so true!
How fun! Haven't been there, but it looks very cool! Nice to see you two on the same screen!
Thanks so much! We have another New Orleans-specific video coming soon, too!
Ooooh, good advice on N'awlins!
Right?! Two words 😊
Great Video have been to crowey and Lafayette for baseball and Shreveport when I was younger
Nice! I gotta get back and explore the state more!
I've been there twice in the summer and it felt the same from where I came from which was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
We got a few Raising Cane's up here now
I did a swamp tour, a ghost tour and a city tour and also a Plantation tour!

Eric, good analysis of North and South Louisiana... appreciated the Texas comparison. 😉
So glad he filled me in!
This was fun - thanks.
So glad you liked it! Thanks Lauren! 😀

Okay this story sounds horrifyinggggg! I definitely didn't know about the bugs of south Texas so I appreciate the heads up!
England has parishes within the counties ;-)
They sure do! Those tricky Brits. 😂😉
You and Eric are a good pair together, I hope that there will be another collaboration in the future. Thanks, folks :).
Thanks so much Darion! :) :) Was fun to watch you in Eric's latest videos!
@@MeansToTravel Lol, I love this stuff :). Eric was in my video two videos ago lol. :)
@@MagnificentGermanywithDarion I gotta catch up!!!

Haha yes, I've had to repeat myself in other places before, too! It can be funny if you go in with a good sense of humor about it. 😀
BIG NET 🤣🤣
Haha thanks for staying until the bloopers!!!
We do not say pralines like that
Oh interesting! How do you say it phonetically??
love it, thank you!
So glad! 😀🙏
