I'm amazed by how you can achieve many great effects with free software.
Thank you for those tutorials, they help a lot.

Yeah for real! You don't need to have the highest budget stuff to make great things. The most creative people imo are the ones who can still work creatively within restraints.

Sir, I love your tutorials. They are easy to understand. You don't prolong the video unnecessary and are quick. I wish more Gimp tutorials if possible. Thank you very much!

been LOVING your videos Nick! Would be cool to see a video on how to make images look like comic drawings/stencils. Something akin to your Duotone video

Wow! I'm going to try that right now. I dropped my Adobe CC subscription and returned to GIMP, after ... well ... I don't know how long; maybe ten years. GIMP has come a long way. Thanks for a great tutorial and channel. *SUBSCRIBED* I just watched your Inkscape wavy-line tutorial. Loved that too.
_EDIT:_ Okay, I made one of myself. Needed to be a bit more contrastie, but still fun.

I should have watched this before I did something similar. I ended up just using the newsprint filter and playing around with the lines until I achieved what I was going for. It was a bit less complex than this, though, since all it was was a retro synthwave sun.

Loving these tutorials! Out of curiosity, what font did you use in the thumbnail? or, was that a distortion you applied to the text?

Great tutorial Nick, thank you !
    1 question though:
I want to create a "transparent lense" texture, which is goin to "distort" the environment behind it...is THIS possible with gimp?
When you look through it, with a steady camera, it kinda moves slightly the environment around, but ONLY through this texture.
something like, heat from fire like a torch. And then use it, or add it as an effect over a hot object in my project.
So yeah .... can i do this ?
    Here is an example: www.redgiant.com/products/universe/heatwave
