    Just got a 1978 g1. Old neighbor just gave it too me. It's missing the secondary clutch and I'm struggling to find one. Any suggestions?

    Hi Matt,
    Do you ever do the oil change on 2 stokes yamaha golf cart?

    • @matthewgiresi9903
      @matthewgiresi9903  4 місяці тому +1

      Oil change? It’s a 2 stroke; there’s no oil to change.

    130 psi of compression. It was never used the cart sat for 30 years. 1 owner I'm thinking clutches need lubricated. I appreciate your help

    • @matthewgiresi9903
      @matthewgiresi9903  5 років тому

      Devan S. That’s too high compression for the 82 - take off the head and check that the exhaust side of the jug isn’t gunked up. It’ll give false compression readings

  • @devans.2555

    I'm a purest nothing has been changed or rigged everything has either been replaced with factory replacements or cleaned and reused. I even found a brand new air box complete with new hoses and everything and installed new clamps I have been threw everything except the clutches maybe there sticky or gummed up.

      Devan S. Same here. Put the rear on jack stands and block the front wheels and rev it up. See if the clutch is moving freely

      Do either of you guys know where I can get the whole brake system for the 82 cart I have the pedal still attached but there are no pads or adjusters in the hubs somebody took everything out before it got to me thanks for any info

    • @matthewgiresi9903

      Kvishon91 it’s the same brake system as the other years - eBay is your best bet

  • @devans.2555

    Also Changed crank seals just to change them. Exhaust butterfly valve working perfect and adjusted properly. New belt and new carb. Full tune up runs great just slow. Its 13 degrees here today and it will fire up with no choke and runs amazing. So I'm assuming it has to be dirty clutches from sitting... would you agree? How fast does yours go?

    Which way is it when the governor is off? Looking down from the air box side? Towards you or away from you

    • @matthewgiresi9903
      @matthewgiresi9903  5 років тому

      Devan S. Sorry - not sure what you’re asking...
      The video is shot from me standing on the passenger side - and the cable runs back around the driver side when done. I say “air box” but I mean the air cover for the jug

    I'm sorry. I ment for the governor to "off" which way did you zip tie it? I've done everything else but feels like the governor is still engaged I cant get over 16mph

      Devan S. I zip-tied it with the arm pulled towards the air box.
      16 mph, check your compression and your belt

    What spring Did you put on the throttle?

    • @matthewgiresi9903
      @matthewgiresi9903  3 роки тому

      No spring. Bypassed that. The gas pedal spring engages and releases the throttle.
