True but the crank case vents through the valve cover and from there to the breather box the engine won't run properly if there low vacuum to the pump it will starve for fulel at higher speeds do to low fuel volume
Tip for anyone in UK for new carb ( Yamaha G2 cart ) purchase. Cheapest seen in UK £76.00 UK pounds and one company wants £300.00 ( can you believe it? ). Just bought from China via EBay at £16.00 delivered. Delivery time was quoted as 4/6 weeks which I was prepared to accept due to price. Ordered on 25 May, despatch acknowledged following day and carb received today 4th June. Not bad going.
I can see your drive clutch is not spooling out all the way because of the rust on the outside of the sheave. Your belt is shot or you have a broken weight under the clutch cover.
I have a yamaha g2 golf cart too. Its almost compleetly identical . i have a liift kit and tires that i am puting on the summer and i was woundering if you had to do any thing to give your golf cart more power to hall the bigger tires or not?
I HAVE A YAMAHA G2 AND IT RUNS OKAY JUST DOESN'T WANT TO START VERY WELL. THE CLUTCH HAS A PIECE STICKING THROUGH THE COVER. IT KINDA JUMPS AND SPUTTERS WHEN TRYING TO START IT BUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT STARTS GOING. ANY IDEAS?
I took a Marine Engine Tech class at a local Tech school. We were taught that if an engine is designed for 87 octane gas, we should not use "premium gas" in it. The octane affects the timing. He said that on modern engines, the computer system will adjust but you are just throwing money away. Older engines without computers may lose some power or get lower gas mileage if the timing is changed.
@chevypwns148 The g2 only has about a 5 to 7hp engine so when you put the taller tires on you lose power fast but gain speed, my g2 with the dirt devils has a top speed of 27 mph and with the stock tires it's much stronger but only clocks out at 18 mph. I might try and put the 13hp honda clone on this summer if I get time to add more power, but not sure?
@31pockets Please do I would love to watch you do that, and see all the electrics hooked up to the standard system so it apeears stock but is way faster!
If you cart is lifted your oil reading on your dipstick will read differently.. in other words if you fill your cart to "full" line with a lift on your cart the extra oil will show up in your air box. I have a 6" lift and I keep my dipstick at half way mark to avoid over fill or the issue you described.

The air box leaking has nothing to do with the fuel pump not pumping, it works off the crankcase vacuum pulse

Do you have a fan on your cart what is the noise when you turn key on
Is the new plug BP4 RES or BP5RES. Many videos mention 4RES but Yamaha manual for G2 cart says 5RES. Does the 5RES have a longer reach

the taller tires make it go faster with less power.

I got one today from my friend and it will not start or make any effort to start. I have no clue if it is in the electrical system or what

I know how turn up the governor but how do you get it to go faster?
What size is the nut on the bottom of the cup? 10mm?
and how the hell did you get it off?

i was wondering why when i run the engine for a wile and then i check the air filter and there is a pool of oil.
