UA-cam is great, when this song came out, we would have to record it from radio to tape decks and now we can just type to hear just about any song.
Jermaine died in 1997. His burial site went without a tombstone or even a grave marker for 17 years, that is until 2014 when a fan anonymously paid for Jermaine to finally have his tombstone. G-d bless this anonymous fan but at the same time it is an absolute disgrace that our beloved artists a lot of times don't get the respect they deserve even when dead. It is our duty as 80's music lovers and I grew up in the 80's listening to Jermaine and others, to honor them and spread their legacy. It doesn't matter if they're Black or White or whatever nor their sexual orientation nor their political views. They are our cultural treasures as Americans.
Didn't know this fact . Sorry to hear. But happy that someone helped out. G bless you Jermaine Jackson..😁
Thanks for sharing
Plaza security it’s Jermaine STEWART, not Jackson.
The usry is unforgivable..
It’s hard to believe that any of the band members from Shalamar, especially Jody Watley for not taking care of their friend after his passing.😡
RIP Jermaine Stewart, you’re an unsung hero/artist/musician. Much love to you.
Hi, Nicole! It's good to see you here! I'm one of your loyal subscribers. Have a wonderful weekend, Beautiful!🌹✌🏽
Just one of those songs that screams "80'S !!!!!!" Essentially 🎉🎹🎶💯
Jermaine really paid his dues being a long time backup singer and dancer. he had some nice hits including the word is out. he died at only 39 of AIDS related cancer. Sadly his grave did not have a head stone for over 17 years for some reason until his mom put one there. he should be remembered a lot more than he is. talented guy.
Jim Jax he has it now that all that matter , should be honor more about his music not the way he died!
He will be miss I like to hear more of his songs you rest in peace
Ironic considering what this song is about
@@memberofthelambily1340 you get AIDS with your clothes on as well.
I wonder why his mum waited that long. Was he single?
I lost my husband of 35 years today. This was one of our favourite songs back in the mid 80s when we first met. Been trawling through UA-cam tonight trying to relive those happy times. This did the trick 🙂 x

We called it the prep down south. Fun times! If only the world we live in can be as it was in the 80s, where it "seemed" like everything was alright. Now, with the internet & social media, we can't escape from all that is wrong in the world. Ignorance is bliss, sadly.
@@SimplyCiCi894….Yep, the dance is called the “Prep!”😎Whenever I hear this song, I automatically start doing it and relive my high school Sr. year in 1986!!

Rumor has it that he's the one that gave HIV to Magic Johnson
I read that his burial site was left without a grave marker for over 17 years. In 2014, his grave finally received a stone, paid for anonymously by a fan!
He also has a square on the AIDS quilt, so many of our most shining souls lost to that terrible disease

Jermaine looked like he had a good time making this video. God, I miss the 80's. ONE of the BEST decades for music.
This song actually has a good message. Remember this was the 80's and AIDS was 'new' and terrifying. Even in 2016 there still is no actual cure. So, the message of this song is still relevant today.
True that smart statement
Aids is man made
No, but human stupidity is man made. Dipshit.

The most prolific era in modern recorded music. Vast numbers of independent of record labels gave artist who otherwise might not have had the opportunity to advance their talents.
