How I miss these days. I think the fact that we had to either wait to hear it on the radio or if you had the money to go and buy the records, you couldn't just come to the internet in here at any time you wanted to. It's like those of us that grew up during this time or were alive during this time we get to come back and relive it

I have a Polaroid with these ladies from 1986 or 87 when this new lineup was getting going. They came and did a track date at the club where I worked in Pittsburgh. They were funny and nice, no egos. Later, in 1990, they came through in a proper tour and played at another club where I worked in Detroit with a full band. Again - funny, sweet, no egos. I still appreciate them to this day.

Some of my favorite 80s songwriters have remained active putting out new albums in recent years. With every new album there is usually a song or two or three that make my list of favorite all-time songs by that artist/group/songwriter. It just doesn't get played on the radio, for the most part. Some will get played on AC radio, sometimes.
Dennis DeYoung's 26 East, Vol. 1 is a 5 star album for me. It was released just a few years ago.

She was lead vocal till her losing her voice. Went to see them Rode Island in late 80’s after coming home from a deployment in US Navy concert was same day I got back. Gioia announced she was leaving the band due her voice had been injured. Few weeks later Kelly Moneymaker was chosen to replace her. Still have their concert T shirt from there. Gioia has always been my favorite. Back then had huge crush on her ROFL all the other sailors liked Ann.

NOBODY has "style" anymore. Nobody has cool hair, BIG hair, sprayed mall-bangs, NOBODY. Shopping at Merry-Go-Round for cool clothes like parachute pants, Wearing the first Oakley Razor Blades. Swatch Watches, Member's Only jackets, Jordache Jeans, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, muscle shirts, IOU Clothing, spiked hair, accessories, just COOL. Even if we weren't cool, we tried. No one does anything even remotely cool like we did in the 80s. What the hell happened. (and I'm not talking about seeing how many piercings or tattoos or crazy body things one can have.)

@Mike Knight Yep, most major malls had a Merry Go Round back then. Was once one of the fastest growing clothing retailers in the US. Then those stores became DJ's. I worked at both of them for a time in Atlanta GA. ;)
@Mike Knight Fosho. The brand of clothing made popular but MGR was I.O.U. Really cool stuff, especially for going to Spring Break at the beach. Shirts where we used to cuff the sleeves and the cuff under would have a different print than the outside. And of course some Stacy Adams shoes and some Cavaricci Pants or Parachute Pants to go with the Chinese Symbol muscle shirt and a bandanna tied around your wrist. Come on people. THERE IS NO MORE COOL LIKE THAT ANYMORE!
@Mike Knight yep basically when the early 90's Grunge Era happened (flannel shirts, jeans, Converse AllStars or Vans shoes (or Birkenstocks) - no more 'cool' looks or clothes happened aside from a few Goth people around town (but that look has gotten completely ridiculous now, in my opinion.) as well as hot chicks wearing stripper clothes at the club. But that never goes away. Lol
@Mike Knight and in my personal opinion, ever since the grunge era of the 90s, style and clothing, and cool looks have never rebounded. Sure, there are a few little blurbs of 'style' here and there over the years. But really, most people dress pretty darn lame now, unless they are a natural beautiful person, and they can look great in anything they put on, (like my wife's awesomeness,) most people are pretty damn lame now. And this is not talking about tattoos, and piercings, and weird body art and whatnot. That's not 'cool.' Because most people cringe when they look at it.
The 1980's was nothing BUT cool. The music, the movies, the TV shows, the products, the cars, everything was cool. There was less stress in the world. Most people were happy. Money was good. Jobs were plentiful - Especially in the later 80s. Will those times ever return again? I think this coronavirus thing has definitely changed America for a long time. People are now going back to simpler things, and simpler times, and saving their money instead of blowing it on ridiculousness that they can't afford, and piling up debt they will never repay. The whole CoVid-19 thing is going to change the world for the better, in my opinion. And maybe we'll see some sort of style and awesomeness occur again like it did during my favorite decade, because I was a definite 80s kid. Class of 1985, dude. I even had an IROC-Z, had Billy Idol-style bleached blond hair, wore a bandana around my wrist, wore Oakley Razor Blades when they first came out, Members Only Jacket, had Ray-Ban Wayfayers, and three Swatch Watches up my arm. I might not have actually BEEN cool, but I surely THOUGHT I was. And that's really all that matters. Those times have never returned for any of us. And that is just a shame.
(even motorcycles and the sport of motorcycling was cooler in the 80s. That goes without saying. But that's a story for another day.)

There are a lot of rich who make their money from investments like stocks, from inheritance and from not paying their fair share taxes...not from hard work. I hate having to subsidize the rich so that they can either retain their wealth, become richer or both. So please have the rich get off their lazy fat asses, help themselves and stop being so greedy and selfish. I think there is something morally wrong with less than 1% percent of the population having all the wealth, especially with so many people going without. We are turning into a third world country which I'm guessing your happy about. Because this country's wealth is so top heavy (and it will get worst) shit will hit the fan eventually. I think I was in the 8th or 9th grade when this song came out. And here it is September of 2022 and I'm still loving this jam. Gioia's rich full-bodied voice is everything on this song. She absolutely kills it. My favorite song by Expose.

But man was it great to be born in 67, because I was in my late teens to early twenties. And had this music to grow up with. Awesome times back then.
