I recon you did a great job Stu! Love to see more screen time with you in it mate!
Done well mate hope to see ya doing more episodes
You have done a great job for a first time go, keep them coming it does get easier with time, really like your straight talk no bullshit good on you, hope to see you again soon. 😃👍
Well done StuDog, brilliant, loved your opening comment " It's good to be back,
though I haven't been anywhere." That echo's my sentiments exactly.
I think you're like me, prefer a vehicle that assumes that you can actually
drive, rather than one that wants to take over, HJ45s forever!!!
Looking forward to the next StuDog extravaganza!!!!
I found in both my auto 4WDs that as soon as I put proper LT tyres on the T/C lockup point moved to higher speed (speedo speed, which of course also means road speed) because of the extra engine load needed to drive the bigger tyres. This was on LT tyres of the same size as factory as well as the larger tyres many people opt for. It affects lock up while not towing and more when towing, obviously. If the 300 is faffing around locking up with standard rubber you will definitely see a demand for a lockup kit, valve body, and cooler for the big tyre brigade travelling in the hot outback. Those folk might see some pretty interesting temperatures in the hot V as well :)
Stu you and rocket are both proper normal people on the utube, there are a lot of almost professional presenters.
Your presentation was fine mate. Keep up the good work. 👍
So glad the Y62 has lockup in manual mode and cruise still works. Bloody brilliant combo and no heat in the transmission.
Keep it up guys, enjoying it all so far
You done very well mate Brilliant
You did well for ya first go Stu well done mate
Great job stu good info looking forward to seeing more videos hopefully even a camping trip.
Great job StuDog awesome opening effort
Well done Studog. Good effort for first time.
Well done Stu, you offered some very good technical insights! I have two suggestions for your future productions. Number one is to look straight into the camera lens, as if you are talking to a person in real life. As hard it will seem at first, it will make a huge difference. Secondly, the editor needs to hit -1 decibels for audio before uploading. Currently the volume is to soft. Otherwise, looking forward to your next uploads. Cheers!
Easy to watch vid. Interesting, honest and informative. Just keep being yourself. I thought you did a good job 👍🏼
I look forward to to the next one and the products for the 300.
Thought you done a great job mate 👍🏻 we just recently done a trip in our van and yes the caravan wave Is a thing , didn’t notice the mitzus but I did notice not many waves from the land rovers ( they might have their own thing )😂😂
StuDog mate, you did great on your first effort, good job.👍😎🍻
Good to hear a honest opinion about it .
Thanks
You did good Stu, very entertaining and thanks for the video.

Would love to see the old Triton out on a trip. That was a really solid old girl.
On that Stu what do ya reckon of the newer MR models?
Good job Stu! Keep going mate.
Hi Stu well done & congrats on your first U tube solo video. Very honest & informative. So what is your go to scotch ? Cheers Kev 🍻
Laphroaig is my benchmark generally 🥃
Great effort mate 👍
Don’t change StuDog!! Love ya work mate…
well done stu you did a great job no bull just the truth that's what we are all after all the best to the next one well done
Great balanced video.
How did you go hiring van with a dog?
I'm so keen to try a van with my RE5 TB48.
Thank you for sharing great ideas video as do great job
Excellent effort, jag looks interesting
Not bad for a first time effort Stu, I'm sure that you will master the task quickly and I will keep an eye out for future videos. If I could make one suggestion, that is, if you take someone with you get them involved, eg your wife, as she would more than likely have been able to provide some interesting input from a different perspective to yourself. Even your dog, did we get a name ? was there any acknowledgement that he was even there ? etc. There were a lot of comments received about the wave, which didn't relate to the assessment of the vehicle, so you can see how little things can add to the interest. Not criticism at this stage but something that may help you make it more entertaining for your viewers. Keep it going.
Good job Mr. StuDog nice van.
all good brother
Us Pajero owners used to wave to everyone. But over the years as Landcruiser owners never waved because they hadn't perfected their "Royal Waves", we sort of gave up. As for Patrols, my best guess is that they tended to keep both hands on the wheel as they were driving so fast waving was unsafe.
Great Video Stu!
Glad you enjoyed it
The outback wave is now only a caravaners thing now! 😂
Stu, you did a great job. Made me 😂 after a stressful day at work so thank you.
As they say practice makes perfect, but please don’t lose your individualism (if that’s a real word).
Rod is Rod and Stu is Stu, let’s keep it that way. Lol
Luv ya work Stu Dog, keep saying as it is.
Top job guys stu and rocket are legends
You did a good job, practice makes perfect.
What is it with Toyota programming gearboxes to keep unlocking the torque converter. Surely it would be more efficient to drop a gear if more torque is needed rather than slipping the torque converter.
Would it have be not better just to town in your 7e gear if that one is 1 to 1 Or do I missing something??
Over drive gears are not recommended for towing at it cooks the torque converter and the fluid.
I reckon you did a great job stu.
Dare I say better than Rocket Rod.
I love your humer.
Keep it up.
Well done Stu. And yeah. If you don’t wave then you might turn into a pumpkin. Probably not but it’s just what we do. You answered a few questions on the new cruiser anyway. Thanks.
Its not a sports mode.
Its a manual mode. There's no sports function to it. The sports mode would be ECT button.
It does hold the gear until it can't, unlike the select mode on the 200.
If you don’t wave you’re a snob that’s what they think. Top video lad
Few more drinks and good content comes naturally
I'd love to hear Stu do a half drunk old man rant. It would be entertainment gold!
Well done Stu
Great job Stu dog 🤙🤙
well done Stu
Well done Stu, great effort and keep it up, I would much rather watch a straight shooter like you, than someone sprouting bullshit :]
Studog is a natural in front of the camera. There is a future for the Studog as a UA-camr when he retires lol 😆.
Great job stu
StuDog, Legend 👍👍
Your doing fine with your content.
Hi StuDog, great content keep it up us Wheelers want this type of information " Whisky" ?
Laphroaig 😉
What a GOOD Car 10/10👍👍👍
The new 300 series is what the prado should be , both are a let down in my eyes under their true names. You did well mate , far far better than I could ever do .
My question is does a campertrailer wave at a caravan.
No. The drivers of the tow vehicles don't either.
I wouldn"t wave either being a Mitsu guy. Anyway good job on the video..
Truck drivers used to in the day these days totally different
Go get them StuDog
EXCELLENT
What's your fav whiskey Stu ? Great video BTW . you gotta do more.
Laphroaig 🥃
Boggles my mind that Toyota struggles with lockup while the Pajero Sport which comes with an Aisin (IE. Toyota) transmission locks up pretty much all the time
Easy to turn the gizmos off with a little reading or ask your Salesman. Locks etc Toyota can change programming for you.
Orders for the Landcruiser 300 have been suspended indefinitely. Frustrating for people who want one.. Your first UA-cam effort is excellent.
fake news , Australian variant hasn't been suspended .
@@randomfootage1488 So if you bought one, do you think you'd get it in less than two years?
@@kippen64 how long it takes to get your 300 depends on spec, colour and trim, my local dealer said that it’s its VX and Sahara’s in colours like white and graphite with black leather have the most demand, therefore it will take the longest, whereas someone ordered a GXL in Merlot Red, and it took them 4 months to receive it..
Informative and funny tell Rod to step aside with his cutting fire wood episodes. Good overview of the vehicle and as you said you offer an opinion it was good. Apparently you are now a you tuber, keep your clothes on! Seriously!
Don't be picking on my firewood episode lol
not a fan of the wave, it seems to happen within 1hr out of perth
Makes me miss the ZF 8 speed more and more. Atlest it locks-up TC in every gear soon as your moving. can lock it in whatever gear you want and it won't budge or get hot. . Our fortuner with the 6 speed auto is the biggest POS we've had
Biggest mistake Toyota not bringing v8 diesel into Australia
so wat happens now since toyota has suspended landcruiser 300 orders indefinitely. as u said WAT has spent a lot of time n money in buying n RnD into the 300. all that time n money will be lost n shelved until toyota decide to start production again n only toyota knows wen this will be.
Truck Drivers Do Wave To each other have done for years that's were caravans get it from.
Also people on country roads rend to wave also - or maybe lift a finger off the steering wheel.
Ha back in the Day we truckers used to wave to each other but the times have changed
Do you think the Canadian truckers wave?
i dont edit any vids mate ha ha dont know how that makes a better vid with all the stuff ups ha ha good job
Good Job Mr StuDog, good first up effort at least your articulate.. I'd be a bumbling tongue tied fool . lol
Way to much bs in these new cars theses days stu
This wave the finger crap gets old fast. Yes we tow a van and no we don't wave at other van owners. Some van towers both in the car car wave. Someone on facesook did a spread sheet on waves car make van make and so on. Ffs there are better thing in life to look at and do .😂🤣 . One other point your dog on the back seat please put it in a harness and lock it into a seat belt as it appeared that this was not the case in your video...other than that very informative video 👍.
It was harnessed later I noticed.
