This is fantastic Leon, perfect timing!!! Licks of the Beast explained how Iron Maiden uses harmonies and now I can use my FM9 for this!! 😊😊 Great stuff, thank you!!!!!
Trying to learn using my intelligent pitch shifter for diatonic harmonies on my g major 2 and learn midi and rack gear at the same time...this helps me understand how to set the voicings to get that sound ive been after all these years playing and listening.(26 years..never knew how to get that sound without another guitarist , as i only knew of regular pitch shifters from boss or digitech whammy pedals...now i just gotta play with it and get my ear more familar with the blends of intervals , so i i kinda have an idea....im sure axe fx is way more comlex than my g major 2 , so i know its not the exact same settings...but you really helped me out with explanations of functions within one, aside from just the key and more so to the different delay times and offset stuff to make it gel...thank you sir\m/
2:05 would that work the same with a harmonizer pedal in the loop instead of in front of an amp? Haven't tried that. My gut feeling would suggest that a clean signal is easier to copy, but the distorted amp may throw that out of the window. Maybe it should be in the loop indeed. Jam 2 sounds like jam 1 but with the 'epic' control on the amp on 11...even more glorious.
A bit late to seeing this video. But @Leon thanks for the video. Quick question to users and Leon - is there any way to set the scale key using your guitar? The Eventide H9 series has a "perform" function where you can set the pedal so that when you hold down a toggle switch and pluck a string it will set the key for whatever scale you've selected. It works great!
Hey leon allways great content and channel but im hoping you can help… im trying to set a harmony on my fm9 where my dry signal will only come out off the left output and a 3rd above to only come out of the right as to try to get close to sounding like two guitars but i only seem able to get my dry out off left but the dry and harmony out of the right🤷🏻… i have dry hard panned and the 3rd hard panned opposite…ive tried your settings above and it does exactly the same?…hope you can help…. Keep up the great work and channel it inspires a lot of people👍🏻
Great videos as always! This one really scratched my creative juice! Does the FM9 come with as many voices? or is it limited to a single other voice rather than a potential 4 voice?
I wonder what it would be like if iron maiden had access to a Fractal FM9 back in the '70s And how would they sound these days? Gosh technology changes so much doesn't it? I know thanks thanks for the demo. How you can get the sound of iron maiden on the fractal you'd use a expression pedal Enjoy! Explore improvise to your heart's content. God bless!

Fantastic as always fractal nobody beats them. They're the best.
Very nice, Leon. That sounds great.
so awesome! putting "Somewhere in Time" on the "to do list" :P
That's so cool L. Never thought of putting the pitch block between the amp and cab. Sounds great :)
Such valuable insight and amazing playing as always! Thank you
Truly endless possibilites! Thanks a lot for your videos!

Absolutely fabulous!
Awesome. Great tip on using input 1 as detector source.
That sounds so awesome. Thank you so much for this tutorial.🙂🙂🙂
Absolutely awesome thanks brother
Sick tune Leon! More Maiden proper than Maiden has been in years.
Thanks so much Sr.
Great demo !
I’ve been using it as a detune. It tracks amazing, has a more natural sound of double tracked guitar over the detuner. Dig your channel!
Me too! The tracking parameter let's you simulate different legacy rack units like Eventide/AMS as well.
👋Thanks you Léon Tood ..Vraiment superbe !👏♥️👩🦰
Thanks Leon! :D

sweet!!
Fantastic video as always. Is the high cut in the pitch block affecting the whole signal or just the wet from the pitch? Thanks.
Just the wet

Yes this is the FM3 so all the other Fractals have the same as this demo. Love the overall sound that sounds pretty nostalgic of old Maiden.
Yes indeed

Hey Leon, you don't crank the MV on the 800 Mod? I thought I saw a video of yours and you had it around 7 or 8?
Keeping the MV down is a little "tighter" overall, whereas cranking it is great if you want more of that loose Marshall "roar"
