- In this vlog we cycle across the Sahara desert along the Atlantic coast towards Mauritania. We need to be quick, since we only have two weeks left on or Moroccan visa and there is still 1000km to the border. Peyman hurts his knee and we are forced to take a break from cycling, will we still be able to make it on time?

We are Peyman and Matilda and since 2018 we are cycling around the world for 10 YEARS, making vlog-style documentary videos about our adventures.
We have cycled from Finland to Africa, and currently we are cycling the west coast towards South Africa and from there to Kenya. After Africa we will start to cross Asia and the Americas.

You both are an inspiration for resilience and go-for-it ness. I am car-free, 75, love that I can cycle around Hilo, having gratitude for the clean, warm, sometime full of moisture, air. I watched the first couple of your videos and thought what an amazing thing for you both to undertake and what a great couple. .Alas, I've just watched this last episode and now see you want others to 'donate' to you, so you don't have to go back to work and can continue to enjoy yourselves. You decided to ride around the world for 10 years and after a couple of months have already run out of money???
Is it not enough that you have enjoyed amazing generosity and hospitality from everyone you have met so far? Many less fortunate and with less than you. Go back to work if you must, but don't expect others to fund your lifestyle for you.

We started our trip on 18.8.2018, so pretty much exactly a year ago. Going back to work every now and then was always part of this 10 year plan. That would of course mean that we would also post much less content on our social media during that time. Since we have got such a big positive response for our content especially on Instagram and UA-cam and our followers always are so curious to know when we are going to post more, we figured we want to give the people who appreciate our work a chance to keep us on the road for a longer time at a time and thus avoiding such a break in content. The idea came from some of our followers contacting us and asking about how they can pay to support us.
So we are not asking people to pay for a vacation. If someone feels like supporting the content that we make and appreciate the huge work that goes into it all we give them an opportunity to do so. Our videos take an enormous time to record and edit, and it takes a lot of effort even if we absolutely love it. We do think it is fair to get paid for the work that we do, and see it as our followers paying for the content that they get in a similar way to paying for a movie or a magazine. The soul of what we do is seeing our followers enjoying our videos and other content and we really appreciate every single view, like, comment and message that we get. We still want to keep our content public and available to everyone without a paywall and we find a 100% voluntary donation a good way to do so.
We set out on this trip with the plan to fund it ourselves, and we will complete the 10 years either way. With financial support from our followers we are able to make more videos, which to us sounds like a win-win situation.

@@UrKnowledge I know which people are there. Thousands of Moroccan settlers in breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention. You may want to look up what exactly that is. It's quite surprising how it applies. Certainly surprised me.

Awesome stuff - police are worried because some Scandinavian women were murdered while sleeping in tent in the Atlas mountains a few months ago - bad for tourism - I challenge Peyman to shave his head - bald.....think of how much ventilation your skull will get, Peyman - I know, because I did the same recently - it really helps......Moroccans and Morocco is very special, I know that also....stay safe...and cool.....awesome videos you guys are producing....:-)

i had the same trip last year but i did not complete it to the end i started from Casablanca and i stop in Agadir 700 km i will repeat it next year and i try to complet the trip to the end

I was thinking perhaps bear spray or pepper spray might be a good self defense item to protect against wild animals and also people with bad intentions. Might want to consider it especially as you travel through less safe countries in the future.

Pepper spray are forbidden in Morocco as any other weapon except knives! 😊
I think its a good idea against someone you just Cant reason with it renders the biggest defenseless 'not to suggest that the people are anything less than nice ' but there are bad people in every country.
