    I love this recipe. I am making this for the second time for my third grade student. I just would advise not to use wax paper. Use the parchment paper as directed. 😩lol!

      BubblePanda G you really need one... it’s too hard to estimate and you want it right at the perfect temperature... if not, they don’t crystallize right away... trust me -I tried it 😄

      Yes get you a thermometer or you will have that sticky gummy candy that sticks to your teeth it won't set hard they won't be enjoyable believe me i tried before

      You drop the candy while hot in glass of cold water it hards and cracks like it should then it's does if it's gummy then not hot enough yet

      As the corn syrup in the vid was boiling, I think you could probably try to recreate the image by boiling it till it looks like the one in the video. That's what I think though

      you can drop a small ball of it into cold water
      the ball of boiled sugar will turn into whats called "hard crack" stage
      that means when you pull the ball of sugar out it will be hard like a lollipop (done)- or it will be "soft" stage - it will flatten between your fingers when likely squeezed
      flatten when you take the ball out of the water
      soft like clay -
      not done

    What is the name brand of your candy apple thermometer?
    I've been looking in Wal-Mart and there's stated not to put it in food... So I need help!!!

      Walmart has them. It will say Candy thermometer. They are right next to the meat thermometers. Look in the housewares department or order on Amazon

    How do you avoid getting bubbles when dipping your apples?

      If your candy is too hot or not hot enough and also if you insert the apple too quickly you will get many bubbles.

      What temperature should it be at I have been doing 300°-302°? I also dip my apples in boiling water for 10 seconds and let them. sit out for 24 hours before dipping them trying to avoid bubbles

      I heat my syrup to 285 degrees.

      Sounds like a temperature issue. Make sure you use a candy thermometer.

    How soon do you clean that pan and can it go down the drain?

      It's cleans up well with warm water and soap. If you use the drain flush it with hot water to dissolve the sugar. Thanks for watching!

      you don't boil the apples just clean with warm water and a cloth/ i use a drop of dawn and rinse really well that gets rid of the wax

    I made candy apples in the past and the candy after sitting on the apples turned out way to hard to even bite into the apple. Does the recipe do that too or are you actually able to bite them after they cool?

      I was able to eat the apples in this recipe but the candy was firm. It's very important you use a candy thermometer and monitor the temperature closely.
